Wrong. Look, I'll defend you, TP, in the game threads. I've said a million times: What happens during the game stays during the game. We're all a little crazy while the game is on and that's fine. But the whole point of the ignore function is so people can AVOID getting into little ticky-tack flame wars. If a person gets rubbed the wrong way by a specific person then use the ignore. That's way the feature is there.

This is an amazing throw... this is one of those where I'm just in awe... like, how the heck did he get it in there? Goff certainly hasn't been perfect (what QB ever is?), but damn man. You keep throwing like that and I'll have a very hard time ever wanting to replace you.

I'm hoping that muddy conditions will make scrambling hard. Designed runs with predicted paths and lead blockers might still be an issue, but lots of quick cuts and sharp turns will hopefully be tricky.

I think ALL QBs suffer in bad weather. So yeah, Goff won't be as good in bad weather... but I don't think anymore so than most QBs. (Maybe QBs who's home stadium is outdoor in northern areas have a bit more experience and maybe they don't get effected by it as much... maybe.)

Ya know... I actually kinda hope that it's really bad weather that makes passing all but impossible. I think I trust our ground game better than their ground game. And if the passing threat of Fields is mostly eliminated then the we can focus more on stopping his ground attack.

I agree that it was the right call according to the rule, I'm just saying that I think the rule is dumb. I think the "kid gloves" approach to protecting QBs is getting silly. I understand why the NFL is doing it, I just don't like it.

And that penalty for the QB hit was BS. I hate how much they are protecting the QB these days. It's not that I want to see QBs (or any player) hurt, but defense are so hamstrung in terms of how they can touch QBs that it makes it hard to actually play.

So, I haven't read the whole thread yet, so forgive me if someone else already pointed this minor detail out... but: Holy crap but our defense is bad.

FWIW, that fluidity and explosiveness could come. As someone who's not too far removed from teaching his kids to drive I think there's some parallels there. When you're first learning to drive you're learning all the pieces and part and bits and bobs and thinking about all the aspects. This tends to make you drive "stiff." You don't ease to a stop, you brake suddenly. You don't ease into a turn, you turn sharply. You don't fluidly change lanes on the highway, you end up slowing down, whipping your head back and forth, then you jerk over when you make the decision to do so. Fast forward a couple of years when your much more instinctive as a driver... when you know how your car will respond, when you know where all the controls are without having to think about it. Everything is smoothly, more even and you're a much better, more confident, more accurate driver. This COULD happen with rookie players as well.

Hard to say for sure. I mean the whole appeal of a running QB is that it makes it harder for a defense so we should expect to running QBs to be harder to defend in general. That said, how much of the much harder for our defense to handle is due to poor scheme or inability to our players to execute correctly? The reality is that it's both, but which is a bigger issue? I'd lean towards scheme, but again I don't know for sure.

Fields had one of his best games ever, Goff had ones of his worst games ever, and we still won. I'm not saying that it'll be a cake walk when we face the Bear next, but Bears needed a LOT to go there way... and it did... and they still lost. So I'm more concerned that I was before yesterday, but I'm still assuming the Lions can and should win the game. That said... man this defense does NOT know how to handle a mobile QB. They just look silly against a guy who can run back there.

In my humble opinion, Goff had a horrible game. So what? Players have off games. I'm not going to use ONE game as evidence that a player should be benched/cut/whatever. I will say that Goff has looked more "human" lately, but I'm far from wanting to replace him.

I too enjoy reading the thread later however I know that I'd be the same way in the thread if I posted during a game. I know my emotions are all over the place during a game. After I can being more cool and rational about it, but during the game I get a little crazy and I fully embrace that. To borrow from Vegas: What happens in the game day thread stays in the game day thread. It's okay to be a little crazy while watching.

I'm expecting absolutely nothing from this signing. Now, to be fair we're getting pretty much absolutely nothing from most of our rushers, so maybe we'll see an small improvement? But I'm really not thinking he makes any sort of impact. I'll be very happy to be wrong of course, we'll see.

I would say "including Hutch." It's not that Hutch has been bad, he just hasn't been great and I expect great from a #2 over all pick. Some of that can be explained by defenses focusing on Hutch, but he's not getting double teamed all the time. Hutch has be okay, but again I want more than okay for where he was drafted.

40 years later, that's a 15-yard penalty, Simms is ejected from the game, and fined $200,000 at least.

Can they put a line in the contract about only getting massages from males?
