There were some bad game management calls. The end of the 1st half cautiousness was dumb. I thought they should have gone for the FG inside the 5 when the ultimately turned the ball over. There didn't seem to be enough misdirection plays or a jet sweep here or there or something like that to laterally create gaps. Nothing to tight ends until the 2nd half.
Defense was still there for the most part.
Football coaches relish possession at the end of the 1st half and receiving the ball to start the 2nd. Ohio State was shut out there. Again, playing conservatively to end the 1st was dumb.
But credit to Indiana and Cignetti. Everybodu laughed at him when he took the job and called out Michigan and Ohio State and Penn State and said Indiana was coming for them. And here we are two seasons later.
Listened to my youngest and her high school choir sing Christmas carols at the zoo tonight. Good grief, cold, cold, cold. Cold enough that high school kids were actually wearing coats and gloves.
Yes, I remember that. Wasn’t he kryptonite to Barkley for a while? Didn’t this occur while Campbell was with the Lakers and Barkley with the Suns? Or am I making stuff up?
I do like that they’ve had some games here lately that have come down to the final seconds. Maybe the FT shooting just needs to get used to these kinds of situations? Part of the maturation process?
I wouldn’t worry much about Keith/Anderson/Lee developing if the Tigers acquire Bregman. Trade them for similar type pitching returns, young and controlled contracts.
I don’t know, I suspect he holds out for an extra year as long as he can. He’s 34 years old already, so maybe it’s not available. But I think he can get 2.
In general, I agree. The salary concern for me is in terms of opportunity cost. So the salary paid to Cobb, who else was a target for that? There was risk there and it eventually played out to the worst possibility.
That’s a fair point, especially with travel tucked in there. Fortunately with a back to back that ends in Miami, there’s limited time to catch the Miami flu.
