I don't think we'll see Bichette/Bregman/Tucker. Maybe I'm wrong, but I doubt it.
League averages last season: .315 OBP, 22.2% SO%, 8.4% BB%.
Tigers last season: .316 OBP, 23.9% SO%, 8.4% BB%.
Kim career: .324 OBP, 19.0% SO%, 10.2% BB%. He helps with the "control the strike zone" line that we heard Harris talk about. Granted, its a little apples to oranges comparing Kim's career to 2025 lines, but I think Kim's injury recovery in 2025 merit a longer term view for him. I understand some of his WAR might come from defense. To that point, what will be the defense of Bregman/Bichette towards the end of the contracts that they'll receive vs the end of Kim's contract? They'll have better bats, that's fine, not going to debate that. But the Tigers also have to consider other areas of the team to invest in.
