About 150 sleeps until Opening Day. Not that I checked the math on it this week or anything.

That first half was dreadfully slow and choppy. I watched the replay on the FD app. I noticed the time was a few minutes after 3 hours, so I assumed the game must have gone into overtime.

Kind of an open question but I’ll play off of this post. As far as rule 5 and Cs go, it would seem to me that it’s tough to roster a C via rule 5 unless he’s absolutely ready for playing time. And, sure, there could be some position player shuffling with the other roster spots from time to time cover other position players if a rule 5 guy is a 3rd C / DH / 1B on an active roster. I think the Marlins took Rob Brantley as a rule 5 pick. But it doesn’t seem like grabbing a C in the rule 5 ever happens. I’m probably wrong and it’ll be pointed in a few moments.

It’s worth discussion, but I don’t know where the line should be drawn. It does seem like a quantum leap from no gambling to pro gambling once leagues finally realized the revenue they could reap from gambling.

Pretty sure whatever league I was thinking of had a combo of high school teams and sponsored teams. So, you'd a see a line score of Whitmer HS vs Toledo Merchants. And pretty sure that those kind of line scores were only in the summer.

I might be remembering the American Legion line scores. I'm a baseball and numbers nerd, so I was like a moth to a light with those in the Sunday Blade. I know I remember the quirk where there were doubleheaders and teams would alternate home/road for the two games.

I think so. I think there was a summer league for high school ball players by that Fed League moniker. I know I saw those line scores in The Blade. This was probably mid 80s that I remember.

I looked at the horse’s innings pitched and then had to remind myself which era we’re in. He does start around 30 games a year, so every 5th day would account for 150 games along that line of thinking.
