  1. Sure, that’s entirely possible.
  2. I think I like Charlie Morton at $15M more than I like Alex Cobb at $15M.
  3. Other than that, he’s pretty darned good.
  4. I don’t see this heading towards a qualifying offer. But I didn’t see a playoff run right after trading Flaherty, so what do I know.
  5. I want everybody to rip it up. Everybody have fun tonight. Everybody Wang Chung tonight.
  6. No more push ups, Malik?
  7. The clock was at 0:00.1. I’ll take that entertainment of the non counting dunk over a likely failed tip in at that point. Also, I’m glad Thompson didn’t hit his chin on the rim. Good grief. I think I’m signing up for some ballet (if you watched the game, you’ll know the story).
  8. If they can translate the defense into more running offense, sure, I’m all for it.
  9. Gosh, I had forgotten about Duren palming the ball to start the play. I was focused on the lob off of the glass.
  10. Oh, I don’t know about that. What if Torkleson gets his act together and Keith is deserving of playing time? Torres has a kicker in his deal if he gets traded, but so what. Pay it, move him, and play the guys with a future in Detroit. Ideally I think that’s what we should be hoping for as a best case scenario. All 3 prove/reprove themselves as major league hitters, another team needs a guy like Torres, and the Tigers get Torres’ production through that point and can get a prospect of some nature for him before losing him to free agency.
  11. I’m listening to the leaves fall of the poinsettia plants. Seriously, these things are loud for being leaves. You can literally hear them disengage from the plant, hit any other leaves in their gravitational travel, and then fall onto the fireplace tile upkn which the plants sit. It’s so bizarre.
  12. Unless he’s traded? And then he’s more like a 2/3 or 1/2 off?
  13. I would expect them to need a 3rd catcher at some point this season. I don’t think there’s anyone in the organization that needs to have that 40 spot right now to serve as the 3rd catcher. At the current time, I’d have no problem dumping Kreidler or Englert if they needed a spot for a 3rd catcher. They might not be there come opening day anyway. So, as of now I wouldn’t worry about it. That might be a slightly different concern then, but as I said before that can be dealt with then. Additionally, there’s a chance that someone on the 40 man suffers a 60 day injury. Well, let’s be real about it, someone will end up there at some point this season. Would the timing coincide with the need for a 3rd catcher? Who knows. Hopefully the good fortune of healthy catching recently doesn’t take a complete 180 and they’re dealing with 4th and 5th catchers at the major league level this season.
  14. I think the Tigers have gotten lucky with zero catching injury list transactions over the last two seasons, if memory serves me correctly. Of course, this would be one of the useless things I could remember. But while any team is likely to need a 3rd catcher, I don’t see the point in adding one to the 40 now given there really isn’t a 3rd catcher that is valuable enough to use that transaction on right now. If and when they need to make that move, and by chance the 3rd catcher sitting in the minors is already on the injured list, now they’ve got to add a 4th catcher to the 40. Just cross that bridge when they need to via necessity or should they find themselves in a no brainer type spot (via trade or waiver wire luck). I suppose it’s possible (although maybe doubtful) Cartaya could fall to them. I’m not feeling all that attached to some of the guys at the end of the 40. If Cartaya has options remaining, maybe that’s a worthwhile move to make.
  15. Ugly game. Was watching the recording whilst walking on the treadmill and the internet went out before Thompson clanked his free throws. Kind of felt like par for the course with this tilt.
  16. That seems very likely if the sign Bregman. But what about the bench? Dingler, Baez, Ibanez, McKinstry to start out the season?
  17. Hypothetical is so mid. Theoretical got ris.
  18. So, home teams sweep the first round and then road jerseys sweep the second round. Coincidence?
  19. The silence was deafening. I saw him taken off in the stretcher and I was done watching the game. Oh, man, what a tough deal. He and the team had the miserable season last year. Clearly he and they have turned things around. And then this. Fortunately it’s a bone break that should heal. Hopefully he heals up completely and that quickness doesn’t suffer.
  20. Gonna need video for proof of the plunge.
  21. I also think it was targeting. Buckle up, suckas, overtime.
  22. Not so fast, my friend. Texas had Clemson and Arizona State, arguably the two worst teams in the playoffs. They made it through one but they’re kind of fumblimg this one away.
  23. Tied at 24. There was a “harmless” safety at 17-3 to get ASU up to 5 in the 3rd quarter. Texas RB get popped in the end zone, the ball literally flew into Quinn’s hands, and he had nothing he could do. But kudos to ASU. They needed 2 TDs and 2 two point conversions to square this game up.
  24. ASU making a game of it now. RB Skattebo with a TD pass and then a 2 point conversion. Just picked off a Texas pass. Oh, balls…. ASU ain’t done yet at all. Deep pass to Skattebo right after the interception.
