do I need any particular package, or is just the most basic $10/mo-with-ads good enough? (never mind, finally noticed the little thing about the sports add-on.) and can I pause the live games?

for game 1, my MLB radio feed (laptop web browser) was perfectly synched with the TV (OTA+Tivo) to start with. I was shocked. there was a bit of drift as the game went on, mainly the video getting ahead of the audio. just had to pause my Tivo for a second a few times to keep it in sync. game 2 was a little more varied, but it was still always the TV getting ahead of the radio, so still an easy fix. I'll have to get a Sling subscription or something for the ALDS (and hopefully ALCS). not sure how that will go. I assume I won't be able to pause the video, so I'm hoping the audio will be ahead so that I can pause that to get it synched. I would gratefully accept any suggestions for streaming services that carry TBS and allow pausing.
