I am an Eagle Scout (once an Eagle, always an Eagle they say). Our troop was in a small town with a great leader and program that probably can't be duplicated now. Most every kid who stuck with it attained the rank. My son tried scouts, just wasn't his interest. I probably wasn't much help since my work hours at the time conflicted with troop events. I was also a bit critical of the adult leadership at the time (30 plus years ago). Times change and scouting has tried to keep up. I guess being Trustworthy, Loyal, Helpful, Brave, Clean and Reverent is considered to the antithesis of the current group of our nation's leaders.

I don't know, the prices I've see on some sites look fairly reasonable for a once every few years vacation. Especially if you don't go wild and buy into some of the on board shopping options. The demos I ran into on the ship as well seemed not much different that from what I encounter at Colonial Williamsburg.

I can only remember a few teachers that far back (coming up on what would be 55th high school reunion). I do think I would have been diagnosed with Attention Deficit Disorder or whatever. I was more interested in what was happening in the reading groups than doing the math worksheets.

The Religious Test Clause states that there be no religious test ever be required for any office or public trust in the US. One would assume, in normal times, that includes all government offices as well. https://constitution.congress.gov/browse/article-6/clause-3/ In fact several states refused to vote in favor of the original constitution unless there was a Freedom of Religion amendment. Freedom of religion has been interpreted as including non religious beliefs.
