To me the real underlying issue here is who willingly turned in the documents when they were discovered and who attempted to cover up the crime when they were asked about classified documents. Much like Nixon in the Watergate case the break-in was bad and yes illegial, the coverup was beyond the norm.

Just as an aside, representatives from 33 states met in Williamsburg this week to discuss and exchange plans for the nations 250th celebration of the Declaration of Independence. As expected CW went all out in welcoming these folks. The closing "ceremony" was a bit of a history lesson centered around the events in May of 1774 when the Royal Governor dissolved the House of Burgesses after they announced a "Day of Prayer and Fasting" in support Boston colonists. The group met the next day to discuss plans for sharing information with the other colonies. The group was about as evenly split as we seem to be today, especially those who depended on the mother country for their goods and livelihood. This was re-enacted for the conference participants and whatever tourists and school groups that happened to be on DOG yesterday afternoon. In his closing comments Daniel Cross, who portrays Col George Washington, reminded those gathered outside Raleigh Tavern about the opening lines of the Constitution. Caught the first couple episodes of Manhunt (AppleTV). It's based on the search for John Wilkes Booth after Lincoln was murdered. It primarily focuses on Edwin Stanton's investigation. It's very well done so far

In the category of WWII era series or movies I'd love to see is one based on Louise Alberto Urrea's novel Goodnight, Irene. The book is based his mother's time serving with the Red Cross during the war as a "Donut Dolly" the group of women who were recruited to bring treats and a bit of "home" to the troops during WWIi, Korea and Viet Nam. These young women often found themselves near the front and in harms way.

It's probably because Crosby slept thru the opening support flights of the invasion😉. It seemed like they tried to include too much into the final episode.

I worked for a traffic service in the early to mid 90s. We were fairly early adaptors spent a lot of my time in a Cessna 172. Nasty days meant I'd drive around phoning in reports on one of those bricks.
