And basically that's what happened this past election. And you beefed about it a lot. Political Parties were not exactly in the Founders' plans. Washington hated them. They basically came about after a beef between Jefferson and Hamilton while they were in Washington's Cabinet. Then later expanded to the election of Adams and his squabbles with Jefferson (and others). The President was originally ment to be chosen by a handful of men chosen as representatives from the states. Madison and company didn't trust handing the highest office to the rabble.

And that wastes what another second or so by the time they look at the clock, check the snap and throw the flag. It's 2025 not 1975, tie the goalpost or buzzer to the time lock to the snap lock. There's enough other stuff going on during the play to keep the refs occupied

I thought I'd start something new. One of my current interests is the road leading up the signing of the Declaration of Independence. The events and thoughts of the leaders of that time that lead to the decision to meet in Philadelphia in 1776. 1774 was a pivotal year with the events in Boston and the Colonies reaction to England's reaction the dumping of tea in the Boston Harbor (among other events). Given the timing of Biden's decision to drop out, a Democtatic Party primary would have probably been a cluster ****. An alternative could have been a meeting of the Party's Central Committee to choose a nominee. That decision would have created similar criticism. The best possible solution was gone when Biden decided to run for re-election. Of course, this is all hindsight.

Regarding the delayed or not called delay of game penalties. I saw a couple of stories about solutions. My favorite is wire the goalposts to light up when time expires on the play clock. That way the refs don't have to constantly keep one eye on the snap and the other on the clock. Either that or sound the horn when the P-C expires.

One minor detail. He was convicted by a jury not a judge. That's the way the system works. His attorneys had a hand in picking the jury. Maybe they should have done better. All criminals say the judge was crooked
