RIP Jimmy Buffett. I need a cheeseburger and green label.

I'm sure. Football/Festival season only runs so long. Hated marching in high school back in the dark ages. It's taken me 50 plus years to get over Henry Mancini's Pink Panther and Baby Elephant Walk. I liked concert season. When we lived in Michigan and I got back into playing the horn I was in two concert bands. This after nearly 40 year hiatus. I found myself looking forward to rehearsals after a frustrating day at work. And hey, I can say I got to go to Interlochen

120 still seems like a good sized MB. Nice to see. For a while we lived across the street from Wall Lake Central in Commerce, Mi, unfortunately all I got to experience on my back porch was the percussion section. How large is the concert band?

The: "Can we not do this anymore?" 2024 MLB Draft

A fairly concise explanation of post war-pre draft MLB... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bonus_rule -
And let's go after Don Jr's cocaine habit as well... And don't try to persuade me that his father in law had nothing to do with it. All part of the Trump Crime Cartel

No parole, no early release...ever...

I just hope they y’all have to serve at least 75% of their time. No time off for good behavior. If they are paroled the need to serve the remaining time. Plus completely revoke their voting privileges.

I use this argument a lot when they bring up a need for term limits. With an rapidly aging governing class it’s more obvious

Saudi Arabia is a possibility. They’ve already donated $4 billion to the election campaign thanks to their deal with Jared

Going a bit deeper in the thread…

It’s call the free market and it had been that way since the 8os. Cable never fell under the late Fairness Doctrine. News has become less of a profit center for media companies in the past. Heck, even the days when your local blowtorch radio station that was counted on to give you a balanced view of the world has been taken over by corporate overlords pushing the viewpoint that will give them the best ROI. Screw any semblance of locality in many markets Comparing viewing preferences is like deciding to root for the Yankees or the Tigers and we all have our reasons to do so. It’s a fact of life and has been for 30 plus years

This is what happens when big media conglomerates decide to cut corners by getting rid of editors instead of board members for salary purposes.

I recently read something about all of Trump's golf club championships. 1) He plays the inaugural round on all his courses, so he gets to claim the lowest score. 2) With the Club's championship tournaments, he usually doesn't play the first day. He'll take a good score from a recent round and claim that as his first day score. They say he's a decent golfer. He only cares about the distance of his drive off the tee, the rest is unimportant. Much like his approach to business and government. But I think we've realized that already. Just rehashing old grievances

Take a gander at the comments. MAGGOTS are going ape**** over the guy's red glasses. In True Trumpublican fashion to his supporters facts don't matter.

Just watched the trailer for Killers of the Flower Moon and I'm officially hooked. The book is on my list to read as soon as I finish Good Night Irene, which should also either be made into a movie or better yet an HBO or Nexflix type series. It could be the female version of Band of Brothers.

Way back when the drug reps would leave lots of samples with doctors, who in turn passed them out to some of their more deserving patients.

It kind of surprised us, his dad as well. He does read a lot of historical fiction and has loved maps for years. We keep urging his parents to send him here for a week or so. There are several camps in the area that focus on that. Not to mention archeology camps for his age group. Where were these things when I was his age?

One of my prescriptions runs me $600+ after copay. The first month is about $6500. It's still considered experimental and can only be prescribed thru a speciality pharmacy. Fortunately it seems to be effective, we think...

And they blame their lack of "acceptable" profits and price increases on "theft". They are practically daring people to steal.

This year's back to school picture posted for my grandson. The line that said what he wanted to be when he grew up....he wrote Historian. (He's entering 6th grade)

I can't see why these places don't go the Sam's Club route, scan and go makes the dreaded run at least less appalling. Everything is on your phone, in fact you can even pay that way. Pick up bags or boxes on your way out the door. Have a designated entrance and exit with two people spot checking your order as you leave. Give a discount to those who use the scan and go method, maybe a smaller one for the self checkout. Charge a premium for checks. Full price if you use the regular check out line. The public will go crazy, but most of them are there already.

The Electoral College was probably relevant when voting was limited to white male landowners. Also when Electors were appointed by state legislators. It became irrelevant when states decided electing those who actually voted for the office of President and Vice President a popularity contest. I challenge anyone who still supports this archaic system to name his or her elector the past three Presidential elections. I bet less than 1% of the voting population even comes close.
