  1. PV really needs to reread some of Trump's social media posts to determine his level of sanity Fo us
  2. Just another reason why the tiny piglet should be ignored.
  3. Tell me again how out of touch Biden is... As an aside if this was a woman Chief Executive she would be branded a heartless bitch..
  4. Posting it here rather than starting a new thread
  5. Could this be the downfall of Pat Fitzgerald?
  6. I was in a couple of APBA draft leagues for about 20 years. At least the cards don't talk back. Most of the time
  7. Which is why I've always loved this Danny Murtaugh quote Spending half your life playing Strat or APBA (or OOTP) doesn't make you a big league GM
  8. I’m not sure what connection Price has to Chris Illitch, but I think his dad basically promised him a job for as long as he wanted it. Besides, who really wants to be the guy that fired Jim Price
  9. Trump could hijack the Constitution and the MAGAs would blame it on Hunter Biden
  10. I only go to Dairy Queen for Dilly Bars. It's a 60 plus year old habit
  11. He says food for everyone, then stiffs them. Just like his contractors in his building days
  12. A lot of construction sites evidently in the inner city. Blowing up old buildings to build new ones
  13. Is it bazaar that I’m remembering Public Service Announcements here in the US during the 60s about munitions in fields admonishing kids not to touch bombs. I’m assuming around old NIKE sites Some great PSA’s from Willie Mays. Don’t touch them
  14. Right now Threads seems like everyone is throwing things on the wall to see what sticks. I'm hopeful that there will eventually be an option of just seeing people or topics you follow. I'm not crazy about the current hodgepodge but it's only day two. Let's see how things shake out once the shiny new toy feeling wears off.
  15. Quick update; I checked the app and it showed that I had paid (2.85) for about 2 1/2 hours. Went to the office in Williamsburg to pay the fine. I told them I was a bit confused and showed them the receipt on the app. Turns out I had put in the license plate wrong, I was in a bit of hurry and mistyped it I guess. They waived the fee since it was apparent i've already paid. The only cost I had was the round trip time and gas.
  16. New peeve. I received a notice of a parking ticket for a local municipal garage that requires a parking app. I'm sure I used the app on the day in question, but since I was in a bit of hurry, and there was a poor Wi-Fi connection it's possible it didn't go thru. I was in the garage for about 2 hours. The city sends me a notice asking to pay, however when the website to do so is not friendly to mobile devises (phone, iPad, etc). When we tried on the laptop the site is not registering username, email, etc, or allowing us to create a new account. This means I need to drive to city hall, write a check for $2 (plus whatever fees they decide to tack on). Not a huge deal, just a headache
  17. My Congress critter lives there (Tappahannock), he's pretty Trumpy. We still a fair number of flags heading back Saturday thru Washington, Pa, into Winchester and down toward Fredericksburg be fore we got hit by the monsoon. I agree, just not a prominent as in the past. There are still a few in the Virginia portion of Pennsylvania that have numerous yard "decorations" Just an aside, it was just this weekend that I learned that the area around Washington and Pittsburgh Pa was considered part of the Virginia Colony in the 1750s. Also how G Washington could afford to accumulate all his properties for being a poor boy from Stafford.
  18. July 4th Fireworks. Not the usual complaint about noise thru out the weekend however. I'm seeing some discussion about CW's fireworks and people planning on staking out spots as early as 9 AM. These are folks who would usually never set foot in the place and complain about ticket costs. I just don't get it. We have plans for a late lunch, early dinner there Tuesday, possibly will go and catch Thomas Jefferson read the Declaration of Independence. Their fireworks are great but nothing is worth packing in with a couple thousand other people searching for parking, fighting traffic and jockeying for an extra 6 inches of real estate. Just call me Otto.
  19. This has to be the sickest and most bazaar ad produced for a candidate I've ever seen. Who in their right mind support whomever approved this ad?
  20. We had a similar situation with a mortgage lender after deciding against them. The hard sell and never take no for an answer is definitely a turnoff.
  21. JMU was originally a woman's college until about 1966 (I had to look it up, it wasn't on my radar in 1970 as a co-ed school). I think in some areas it's still considered a teachers' school. TBH, given a do-over I might have considered it over the quickie Famous Broadcaster School. I haven't spent much time in Harrisonburg recently, but I think the location might play a factor in the demographics considering other local options.
  22. Yesterday was Mel Brooks 97th birthday. There was a lot written about Blazing Saddles, but I feel High Anxiety was his best film. A great parody of the 1960s and early 70s thrillers. My favorite scene, nobody does it better...
