There are still a few of us around who remember having to fight to have FM radios installed in their vehicles. The dealers would do it for a price $$. There was also the less expensive FM Converter option. Now that virtually every vehicle has some version of wireless connection, all radios are becoming obsolete.

Sorry Mark, butte fact is your chosen medium is as outdated as standard transmissions with the shifter on the column. AM radio died in the 90s with a few dinosaurs left.. Much like you and your cohorts shows... https://www.mediaite.com/radio/mark-levin-accuses-auto-manufacturers-of-removing-am-radio-to-attack-conservative-talk-shows/ Talk show host Mark Levin accused auto manufacturers of removing AM radio from vehicles as an “attack” on conservative talk shows. Levin made his comments on the Friday edition of The Mark Levin Show, which was then circulated via Media Matters. Levin’s conversation initially centered on the push for more people to buy electric cars. Electric cars and even some hybrid models are being manufactured without AM radios due to electrical interference with the vehicles’ operating systems.

The whole Thomas rebuttal is pure BS. Anyone with a grain of propriety would instinctively know that accepting free plane trips or vacations, even from a longtime "friend" should set off warning bells and whistles. Not to mention underwriting Thomas wife's Political Action Committee. I've known smaller market reporters who have turned down the "Goodie" packages from PGA and LPGA tournament sponsors so not to be accused of favoritism. He's a member of the country's highest court, and he doesn't understand that your "friend" offers you a gift, that it may not be technically wrong but perception matters just as much.

The whole voting on campus debate goes back to when they changed the voting age. It all hinges on what is considered a permanent address. If I own two homes (or more) do I get more votes? Do snowbirds get to choose whether they vote in their winter or summer home? The students spend more time and spend more money on their campus locations than they do living with their parents. If you want to exclude the student vote, they should also get tax exemptions.

I half expect that these guys would prefer changing it back to white, male, landowners. I've already seen talk in the past of one vote per household

Spring Break travel? My wife flew out of DTW Saturday a week ago, said the airport was a zoo as SB travel was just beginning. We both tested positive by midweek. Planned to have family in this past weekend, that was shot to hell. Travel plans for this weekend (more family, Easter) have also been canceled. Neither one of us felt anything more than some head congestion. My test came up negative today, she's still showing positive.

I guess I'm from the school of keep'em tied up with court cases. Make him pay a boatload to whatever lawyers will take the case. Heck, the QPublicrats were in court every other day trying to turn the election in 2000. They all knew they had bogus cases but the kept filing on the off chance they'd get a friendly judge. Let Trump try to defend himself in NY, GA not to mention testimony from Pence and his lawyers in the Jan 6 investigations. Who knows, they might get lucky with a conviction or two. Meanwhile just keep raising his blood pressure....

I saw something on line last night regarding the Tigers horrible showing in Tampa last weekend to the last couple of games in Houston. Some speculation that the Tigers had a hard time seeing the ball in that dome. It also lauded to comments from other players as well. Has anyone seen anything similar? -
COVID may have played a small part but Youngkin grabbed onto the whole school choice thing with both hands. McAuliffe stumbled badly in one of the debates about whether parents should have control over what is taught in schools. That was the issue IMO that turned the race. It clicked with parents who very seldom attend PTA meetings let alone school board discussions. (Yes he was a horrible candidate as well). Meanwhile Youngkin also lucked into the nomination by appearing as the least crazy of the QOP contenders. The weird drive in, firehouse primary convention thing was a perfect set up for him. The fleece vest, "successful" businessman, nice guy bit played well with the CBN/Liberty Crowd. And to those who don't play as close attention to politics as some of us do he was considered a safe choice. Keeping his distance from Trump and the crazies while appealing to the moderate right. Meanwhile his first 18 months have been a bit a disaster. And yes 12 years of Democratic control of the Governor's Office was a factor IMO.

For the most part you're probably correct. From the standpoint of one who was adjacent to the "news media' at least before they were included in the profit centers of the corporations and have a bit of historical knowledge of the state, I think there were a few other factors at work in Younkin's 2021 victory. I also believe the fact there are relatively few places where "up and coming" reporters can receive hands on training is also a factor in the current mentality. With many newsrooms either completely cut in smaller markets or reduced to one or two "bodies" they don't get the experience of covering a local zoning board meeting or the opening of a new restaurant, I'll get off my soapbox and go back to yelling at barking dogs...

There are probably a few spots in Wayne, Oakland, and Macomb counties that could use some sprucing up https://www.wtvr.com/news/local-news/he-got-fed-up-with-a-petersburg-pothole-so-he-decided-to-plant-a-tree-april-3-2023?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=newsletter_axioslocal_richmond&stream=top
