  1. It's Pro Publica, but where there's smoke there just might be fire....
  2. Since it's the home opener I'll drop this here...
  3. Tell me again, who are the pedophiles? here seems to be an unhealthy interest in young genitalia among so called conservities.
  4. I guess I'm from the school of keep'em tied up with court cases. Make him pay a boatload to whatever lawyers will take the case. Heck, the QPublicrats were in court every other day trying to turn the election in 2000. They all knew they had bogus cases but the kept filing on the off chance they'd get a friendly judge. Let Trump try to defend himself in NY, GA not to mention testimony from Pence and his lawyers in the Jan 6 investigations. Who knows, they might get lucky with a conviction or two. Meanwhile just keep raising his blood pressure....
  5. I saw something on line last night regarding the Tigers horrible showing in Tampa last weekend to the last couple of games in Houston. Some speculation that the Tigers had a hard time seeing the ball in that dome. It also lauded to comments from other players as well. Has anyone seen anything similar?
  6. COVID may have played a small part but Youngkin grabbed onto the whole school choice thing with both hands. McAuliffe stumbled badly in one of the debates about whether parents should have control over what is taught in schools. That was the issue IMO that turned the race. It clicked with parents who very seldom attend PTA meetings let alone school board discussions. (Yes he was a horrible candidate as well). Meanwhile Youngkin also lucked into the nomination by appearing as the least crazy of the QOP contenders. The weird drive in, firehouse primary convention thing was a perfect set up for him. The fleece vest, "successful" businessman, nice guy bit played well with the CBN/Liberty Crowd. And to those who don't play as close attention to politics as some of us do he was considered a safe choice. Keeping his distance from Trump and the crazies while appealing to the moderate right. Meanwhile his first 18 months have been a bit a disaster. And yes 12 years of Democratic control of the Governor's Office was a factor IMO.
  7. For the most part you're probably correct. From the standpoint of one who was adjacent to the "news media' at least before they were included in the profit centers of the corporations and have a bit of historical knowledge of the state, I think there were a few other factors at work in Younkin's 2021 victory. I also believe the fact there are relatively few places where "up and coming" reporters can receive hands on training is also a factor in the current mentality. With many newsrooms either completely cut in smaller markets or reduced to one or two "bodies" they don't get the experience of covering a local zoning board meeting or the opening of a new restaurant, I'll get off my soapbox and go back to yelling at barking dogs...
  8. There are probably a few spots in Wayne, Oakland, and Macomb counties that could use some sprucing up https://www.wtvr.com/news/local-news/he-got-fed-up-with-a-petersburg-pothole-so-he-decided-to-plant-a-tree-april-3-2023?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=newsletter_axioslocal_richmond&stream=top
  9. Everything Trump touches…..
  10. Grifters gonna grift...
  11. Why always the King James version? Dang book was published in 1611. Why not the original one sent down at Mount Sinai and found in the Torah. The commandments were given to the chosen Jewish people, not the Johnnie Come Lately Papists Why don't these so called Christians ever want to post The Sermon on the Mount...
  12. I've been watching a lot of Turner Classic Movie lately. A lot of pretty good stuff I remember from my much younger days when the local channels would show older movies on Saturday or Sunday afternoons. Master and Commander was on a couple of weeks ago. I had forgotten how good this film is. My wife then pointed out an article saying that the movie has become the ultimate Dad Movie... https://www.gq.com/story/master-and-commander-anniversary
  13. I was thinking about the whole DeSantis/Disney thing and began to wonder. Is Disney World still a prime vacation stop anymore? Between outrageous ticket prices (not just Disney but other major theme parks as well) and Florida politics have places like Gatlinburg become viable altnatives. What about those folks who bought into the whole Disney type experience 10, 20, 30 years ago and invested in Disney's "Vacation Clubs" Cruises, etc...are they going to be left holding the bag and be unable to unload property? Or are they stuck with timeshare points they never use anymore. Maybe there needs to be a group of "owners" who band together and sue the Governor along with the state of Florida for "infringing" on their rights to pursue happiness as well as loss of potential income because of the state's restrictions.
  14. They don't care if you attend church or not. Just keep those checks rolling in to the radio and tv grifters and politicians
  15. The former party of personal responsibility is afraid of people who think for themselves. They prefer them stupid and needy.
  16. Feeling like the old fart that I am, I miss the days of the locally owned and operated pharmacies. Especially ones that offered home delivery for folks who lived in the boonies.
  17. Our AARP plan is tied to CVS, usually no problem. With last weeks COVID diagnosis the branch I usually use called and said their Pavlovian was out of date. They found a local branch that had stock (about 20 minutes or so away). The problem was they left the onus on me to contact them rather than just transferring the prescription. Nearly an hour on the phone and no one answered. Their automated system was absolutely useless. I ended up calling my doctor back to have them move the prescription. My wife had it a bit easier since her video call was later in the afternoon. It all worked out in the end but it's not exactly great for the blood pressure when you're in a semi panic mode to begin with.
  18. I might just kill him to keep quiet.....
  19. No clue, start multiplying days and fines for each day. 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32.....he'll eventually have to go to NY for the trial. Give him a place to stay. Also add penalties to news services who cover his outbursts ???? I only learned so much during my wife's semester in law school.
  20. I'm pretty sure it's temporary. Me move was announced earlier this year and your weather hasn't exactly optimal for construction.
