  3. The same folks who skewered Bush/Obama for the 2008 bank bailout
  4. Would he willingly be a backup? if so i'd rather use a sixth round pick on him than anyone who may be on board at the time. At least he'd be serviceable if Goff got hit by a truck
  5. From what I've seen things are still in limbo. Bally has yet to file for bankruptcy. Only Arizona has been notified they won't be receiving a payment due this month. BTW, T-Mobile has announced free MLB-TV again this season. The promotion starts 3/28 on thru the Tuesdays app
  6. Damn socialist countries In general, European and African countries, such as San Marino (46 days) and Togo (43 days), offer some of the most generous holiday schemes for their workers. This is in sharp contrast to the U.S., where there is no federal or state minimum allowance for either paid holidays or paid public holidays. But when looking at which country gets the most paid vacation days overall, Iran comes up top, offering a grand total of 53 days, split pretty evenly between paid annual leave and paid public holidays. https://www.visualcapitalist.com/cp/mapped-which-countries-get-the-most-paid-vacation-days/?utm_campaign=mb&utm_medium=newsletter&utm_source=morning_brew
  7. I've always seen Spring Training as a way for a player to work on things or approaches in a way they would never get to during the regular season. Maybe the last two weeks or so of games before the regular season should be a better indicator.
  8. It's been a bit of a hodge podge for me. Some folks who I follow end up in "for you" while following gives me people or topics I really don't care about.
  9. OH Canada... In the states it's grounds for getting shot... https://www.nytimes.com/2023/03/10/world/canada/middle-finger-god-given-right-canada.html?unlocked_article_code=IPKA91YOPg8tas0oz7YlltMDavzu-sIJQ6i8DKrxKLUvW3lQNvsZ-jIuoS142j9_kvGm2TDxBC0-Q0WENNv3fzeGt-JUuptGnuTGzHV9vXsYbX5OaD899layG3K4yKbdhYY05u2Is91tfPDDJtKZBxyw2-53lWpCCIlF80B1tfCAEJJSpcUj8b8-y5UQkqclSDDtpjyBJV8IkUJR6NR0tV2saj4sc2QXoKjXklTUPphyIzELcFdWnwVOuVfGeFnkzGm1Hcpkc91nzaW9Zhnlj6UITXXDvx5KPMWtOmEuL8QyFULwSPfj1mkRxu8pDrGpRJf1oru83j3Warz5R1YrdIkDiemKi3gccZEG550HNKB4jeM&smid=url-share
  10. From JVL, Bullwerk https://thetriad.thebulwark.com/p/spoiler-fox-wins And I have some bad news for you: There will be no consequences for anyone involved. None. Zero. Zip. Zilch. Nada. Rupert Murdoch won’t be touched. The prime time hosts won’t lose either viewers or their jobs. They won’t face any additional shame in their professional or personal lives. The supposedly serious “news side” people, like Bret Baier, will still be given the benefit of the doubt, even by their peers in the mainstream. Democratic politicians will still go on their shows and treat them as though they are serious journalists. No advertisers will pull their buys. No paid speaking gigs will be cancelled. No book sales will be diminished. No one will even be put into timeout like Don Lemon was.1 Here I would remind you that Chris Cuomo had his entire media career destroyed because he gave a politician (his brother) back-channel advice concerning a specific incident without disclosing it. Which is proper: What Cuomo did was 100 percent out of bounds. CNN was right to fire him. It’s good that no other mainstream outlet has hired him. My point is that in the “liberal mainstream media,” Chris Cuomo got the professional equivalent of the death penalty for an offense that was a tiny fraction of the size of what happens up and down the line at Fox every forking day. And the Fox people will face zero consequences for their infinitely greater sins. But, hey, the liberal mainstream media got the Covington kids story wrong for 24 hours, so, what are you gonna do, right? Both sides? Bottom line, as a nation we're screwed
  11. They will have to pry My copy of Rabbit Angstrom from my cold dead hands
  12. Unless Jackson can double as a CB or LB I’m out. Got to use those 1 round picks as needs
  13. But it's AOL level dialup
  14. Combine that with the bake cookies followup...
  15. They completely rebuilt McCormick Place in the 90s if I recall correctly. Enlarged the area for conventions and events similar to the auto show. I don't remember anything about a dome.
  16. That's pretty much what I thought. The Bears were a non issue. Most of the folks who go to the games are from the burbs anyway.
  17. I completely forgot about the lot between the stadium and McCormick Place. It's been two long
  18. The Bears approached the City about needed repairs to the stadium. Broken seats, the field itself is terrible condition, other issues. They were basically ignored. Parking is not really an issue. The parking garage under Grant Park serves the area well. Most fans either take the train or the EL downtown anyway. I was in Chicago in the 90s. There was always a rumor about the Bears moving. The hot spot at the time was Gary, IN. The racetrack property is a great spot with adequate parking and a Metra Station close by. Meanwhile the Arlington Million will be held about 20 miles from my house.
  19. My wife wondered how many votes this whole kerfuffle cost Lightfoot in the recent election. I follow politics a bit more closely than her and thought she was toast without the stadium issue. Soldier field should go the way of Meigs Field, just expand Grant Park.
  20. For those inclined, a good documentary on the Bears impending move to the Chicago suburbs, Phil also does a look at the Rams newer facility. Phil Rogers was one of my favorite reporters when we lived there and does a good job. It does make you wonder what the sports area in downtown Detroit could be if certain people would actually spend some money...
  21. More footage you won't see from Traitor Tucker.... See thread
