  1. Combine that with the bake cookies followup...
  2. They completely rebuilt McCormick Place in the 90s if I recall correctly. Enlarged the area for conventions and events similar to the auto show. I don't remember anything about a dome.
  3. That's pretty much what I thought. The Bears were a non issue. Most of the folks who go to the games are from the burbs anyway.
  4. I completely forgot about the lot between the stadium and McCormick Place. It's been two long
  5. The Bears approached the City about needed repairs to the stadium. Broken seats, the field itself is terrible condition, other issues. They were basically ignored. Parking is not really an issue. The parking garage under Grant Park serves the area well. Most fans either take the train or the EL downtown anyway. I was in Chicago in the 90s. There was always a rumor about the Bears moving. The hot spot at the time was Gary, IN. The racetrack property is a great spot with adequate parking and a Metra Station close by. Meanwhile the Arlington Million will be held about 20 miles from my house.
  6. My wife wondered how many votes this whole kerfuffle cost Lightfoot in the recent election. I follow politics a bit more closely than her and thought she was toast without the stadium issue. Soldier field should go the way of Meigs Field, just expand Grant Park.
  7. For those inclined, a good documentary on the Bears impending move to the Chicago suburbs, Phil also does a look at the Rams newer facility. Phil Rogers was one of my favorite reporters when we lived there and does a good job. It does make you wonder what the sports area in downtown Detroit could be if certain people would actually spend some money...
  8. More footage you won't see from Traitor Tucker.... See thread
  9. Just think of all the time and energy wasted. If he only just returned the cart. Also think of the time spent by employees who do that. I used to get mad at the West Bloomfield Princesses who were to lazy to walk 10 feet to the cart corrals at the local Hiller's (now Kroger)
  10. Maybe it's because I spent over half my life getting up at 3:30AM. I'm not super crazy about the Sun still being out at bedtime. Then again driving home in the dark after a split shift (5:30-9:00) 3:00-6:30) gets old fast.
  11. Those guys went the way of Johny Unitas and Billy Kilmer
  12. And if that doesn't work you unplug him and start over. Reboot time
  13. Correction, Faux News is owned by a foreign national and Tucker Carlson is another Aaron Burr
  14. I think Goff is a good system quarterback, when the system breaks down I feel there he has flaws. Fumbles, interceptions, whatever. I'm a bad amateur musician. But I look at the team this way. Goff is Kenny G or a good session player. Like Bill Bergman (You Belong in the City), Mark Rivera (Billy Joel's guy). They are very good but no Mark Turner or Kenny Garrett who are probably the best currently at improvisation. If the Lions think they can draft the next Mark Turner, I say go for it. And in today's NFL you're going to need a QB who is able to improvise on occasion. No knock. I'd just like being prepared in case of emergency. We just saw in the playoffs what happens if your QB goes down. SF had it happen in their most important game of the season.
  15. Folks have been complaining about the "time changes" since they've been adopted. Maybe we just need to outlaw clocks
  16. True, but they're starting to crack down big time on password sharing.
  17. And if you actually take a look at what decent internet cost and combine it what you are paying for the streaming apps you realize you're spending a heck of a lot money. Especially once the introductory offers run out.
  18. This argument is going nowhere. Neither one of us is making the final decision. It's starting to feel like explaining to my 10 year old grandson why I don't want to stop at 5Below
  19. At the same time in many areas your only internet option comes from the cable company. Despite what TMobile and Verizon tell you about 5G. Especially if you have multiple devices or need reliable service to work from home.
  20. I don't think anybody has ever said he's not good enough after last season. My reasoning is I'd rather have someone who is a capable replacement if heaven forbid someone hits him the wrong way (see Drew Bledsoe, Joe Theisman, last year's 49ers) and upsets a promising season or to or three. Right now the Lions have no backup...and if you can sign promising guy on a rookie contract and sit him for a year or two good. You then have options come year three or four. I was always taught redundancy is a good thing.
  21. Take a look at the history of Lions QB's....Kitna was on the Lions QB the year after Rogers was drafted. If you drafted Rogers to replace Harrington and if lightning struck you wouldn't have needed the other Lions QB's I've noted. You have your fantasy world I have mine. edit According to your reasoning there was no reason for the Packers to draft Rogers because they already had Favre
  22. I have a feeling from a cost and technical standpoint it would not be feasible for streamers to even entertain such an idea at this time. But then I'm spitballing
