  1. I'm just to cheap to spend $25 a month for something that I'd watch a couple times a week on top of the other streaming services.
  2. To me the whole Bally/Sinclair/??? issue is # who has the broadcast rights if the current holder is unable to deliver on the contract. I would assume they would revert back to the Tigers or any other team who may be affected. It's then the team's prerogative to assign or sell the rights to another entity. (With the consent of MLB). It would also probably be up to MLB or the team to strike a deal with cable operators in the region (along with satellite providers) to carry the broadcasts. The fact that Sinclair pulled this move as late as they did makes me believe something is fishy Hunt Valley, MD. (Home base for Sinclair)
  3. I would assume all stadiums already have technical crews in place with the exception of the announcing crew and possibly a producer for TV games. Since both teams take the same camera feed, usually. It makes no sense shipping technical equipment and trucks cross country all the time. The NFL has been doing that for years. Meanwhile some of us out of market fans are waiting anxiously to see if TMobile is offering us free MLB again this year.
  4. Tucker is a real Diogenes
  5. A) You pay him B) You trade him C) You trade or release your current starter
  6. And he's probably done it for years. The question is what happens if someone got hurt? My bigger concern here would be to larger companies who would tend to use underage kids in places where they don't belong, factories and such. If I remember correctly a work permit was not that difficult to get. It does put restrictions on number of hours and length of "shift" an under age person could work. I once hired a 16 year old kid at a radio station where I was the program director. He was great for the overnight shift. I just needed to have someone relieve him at 4 AM to comply with regs
  7. I remember when I was 14, 15 or so my dad had a landscaping business in conjunction to the small nursery and florist business he ran. I would go out during the Summer. OSHA laws prohibited me from running the mower or power tools. I was regulated to cleaning up after the bush trimming and pulling weeds. I had a couple of friends who lived on a farm and would help out during hay season. We weren't allowed to drive the tractor but I could see no issue loading bales on the wagon. (This was long before I discovered round bales😉) I also remember restrictions when I was an ast mgr at an Arby's. You had to be over 16 (???) to run the slicer and strain fry grease.
  8. I remember the days of a different minimum wage for minors than for adults. I'd be willing to wage they would also end the restrictions on kids under 18 working "hazardous" jobs...
  9. It seemed to be a twitter glitch, looks like they fixed it shortly after MB's post.
  10. Or whether under state/commonwealth law at the time Martha could not free any of the slaves "owned" by the Custis Estate.
  11. Just wanted to take a few seconds to remember Tampa play by play announcer Dave Wills. I remember him from his time in Chicago. He was part of the Sox broadcast team and also did play by play for the Kane County Cougars. I also remember listening to his updates on the old WMAQ-AM and WMVP back in the late 90s. Another good guy who will be missed https://www.tampabay.com/sports/rays/2023/03/05/rays-radio-dave-wills-dies-andy-freed-stuart-sternberg/
  12. I guess the big question is what happens after birth. Post natal care. Nutrition help for families. Significant help for new parents in early Pre K learning. All those things and more seem to fall thru the cracks. Especially in both urban and rural areas where you literally have children raising children. What does Vance and company (including Democrats) plan to address the post birth needs.
  13. MLBTV was on You Tube TV until recently. They've been squabbling over fees. Hopefully they'll come back with a better package. Maybe one that includes local broadcasts.
  14. That consultant was still in 60s and 70s mode. My overall favorite F the experts story is how Black Water came to be a hit. The record company was pushing Another Park, Another Sunday. A jock (and MD) in Roanoke, Va started blaming the flip side and it took off. Unfortunately there are no longer any "Power House" smaller market stations anymore or MD's and PD's who program by their gut.
  15. The Righteous Right talks a good bible but the keep forgetting the first commandment. "Love thy Neighbor" They seem to hate themselves and take it out on everyone else
  16. Once again proving you lie down with dogs.....
  17. We had a Bradford Pear on our property in Farmington Hills. It was one of those horrible invasive parkway trees, pretty for about a week or so then a nuisance the rest of the year. Always waited until just before the first snowfall before shedding its leaves. A decent windstorm would break a few limbs. It finally fell. Fortunately the city took care of its removal.
  18. Brains and beauty, unlike the QOP's Bobbsey Twins which have neither
  19. Was at an event at the local winery this past weekend. The winemaker was lamenting the mild winter we’ve been having here, especially the couple of 80 degree days last week. It’s potentially playing havoc with the harvest as we’re already beginning to see buds. One good frost and there goes an entire crop of Petite Verdot grapes
  20. I thought we were all morons. But that was the old board
  21. Doing a quick in and out of Durham with an appointment at Duke Medical Center. Our hotel is almost next to the ballpark. We took a quick peek before dinner, ballpark looks great. I understand Duke has been playing some of their games there. From what I understand they needed to upgrade the clubhouse, not sure what else. There is still construction street side. Great location. Very walkable neighborhood with what looks like good restaurants. Nana's was fantastic. There will probably be a road trip in our future this summer. Meanwhile Richmond city council has approved a new ballpark in the same location of the current one (and the one before that). I haven't seen much of current plans but there is talk of hotels and restaurants on the property. From what I understand they need to upgrade the clubhouse and training facilities by this spring. Word is they plan to incorporate that into the new facility. They are also hoping for a waiver with the new facility in the works for 2024. Meanwhile Richmond City council has approved a new ballpark. Same location of the old one. They say it will be
