  1. That consultant was still in 60s and 70s mode. My overall favorite F the experts story is how Black Water came to be a hit. The record company was pushing Another Park, Another Sunday. A jock (and MD) in Roanoke, Va started blaming the flip side and it took off. Unfortunately there are no longer any "Power House" smaller market stations anymore or MD's and PD's who program by their gut.
  2. The Righteous Right talks a good bible but the keep forgetting the first commandment. "Love thy Neighbor" They seem to hate themselves and take it out on everyone else
  3. Once again proving you lie down with dogs.....
  4. We had a Bradford Pear on our property in Farmington Hills. It was one of those horrible invasive parkway trees, pretty for about a week or so then a nuisance the rest of the year. Always waited until just before the first snowfall before shedding its leaves. A decent windstorm would break a few limbs. It finally fell. Fortunately the city took care of its removal.
  5. Brains and beauty, unlike the QOP's Bobbsey Twins which have neither
  6. Was at an event at the local winery this past weekend. The winemaker was lamenting the mild winter we’ve been having here, especially the couple of 80 degree days last week. It’s potentially playing havoc with the harvest as we’re already beginning to see buds. One good frost and there goes an entire crop of Petite Verdot grapes
  7. I thought we were all morons. But that was the old board
  8. Doing a quick in and out of Durham with an appointment at Duke Medical Center. Our hotel is almost next to the ballpark. We took a quick peek before dinner, ballpark looks great. I understand Duke has been playing some of their games there. From what I understand they needed to upgrade the clubhouse, not sure what else. There is still construction street side. Great location. Very walkable neighborhood with what looks like good restaurants. Nana's was fantastic. There will probably be a road trip in our future this summer. Meanwhile Richmond city council has approved a new ballpark in the same location of the current one (and the one before that). I haven't seen much of current plans but there is talk of hotels and restaurants on the property. From what I understand they need to upgrade the clubhouse and training facilities by this spring. Word is they plan to incorporate that into the new facility. They are also hoping for a waiver with the new facility in the works for 2024. Meanwhile Richmond City council has approved a new ballpark. Same location of the old one. They say it will be
  9. It definitely has the feel of an AI Bot
  10. This could be better than the new season of Succession.
  11. I also suggested that maybe sign Taylor Heineke, who was a starter for Washington. Or is that out because he might offer competition?
  12. Read my entire post.
  13. Not a fan of drafting a QB in the first round, however what is wrong with a little competition. Who is currently #2 on the Lions QB depth chart? Would be signing a guy like Heinicke who was quite serviceable for Washington for a large part of last season be considered a threat? Especially since TH was quite popular with the players. Or another one of the guys who may be displaced after the postseason round of QB roulette. I'd rather have a backup in place heading into training camp than to scramble at all the picked over leftovers. But then I come from the era out Jurgensen and Kilmer.....Staubach and Morton to name a couple. I expect Goff to have more stones than wanting to be traded.
  14. Just another Wednesday along Woodward Ave, or Orchard Lake Rd
  15. Very easy to ignore the thread. Don't click on it
  16. I thought the story said just outside Athens. I've never been there, but looking at Google Earth I see a few roads where drag racing could happen
  17. I'd be ok with that. The Founders didn't really want parties anyway (until Jefferson and Adams changed their minds). Do an open ballot all run as independents. The California Firehouse contests seem like fun to me. Make the races ranked choice. It can't be any worse than what we have. One more thing. Tax campaign contributions at 50%. Free speech has never been free anyway.
  18. It was that damn octopus throw
  19. Oh Nos! Biden and his wife ordered the same meal at a restaurant. Invoke the 25th Amendment
  20. I still would like to know who paid of Kavanaugh's mortgages and such...
  21. Who's going to expel the illegal alien from Brazil still holing himself up in the Peoples Republic of Florida?
  22. Interesting piece in Axios regarding East Palestine. It seems the hamlet is a magnet for train derailments https://www.axios.com/2023/03/01/east-palestine-derailment-history-norfolksouthern?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=newsletter_axioslocal_detroit&stream=top
