  1. Or weren't constantly on TV. We sat on the porch sipped our Iron City (or local brew) and gossiped about the neighbors.
  2. Can we move on to Bryan Cranston? Personally I think it's a great answer...
  3. How to sporting event prices compare with places like Disney World or even Cedar Point? Where you can spend a mortgage payment to wait i line all day (unless you pay extra). Not to mention exorbitant parking prices. Or even at afternoon at Greenfield Village where the "exhibits" seem to be placed willy nilly through out the park?
  4. The guy could never properly execute a proper hit and run. Another K for Useless
  5. The Dilbert strip and Adams stopped being relevant and/or funny at least 10 years ago. He should have disappeared to his imaginary island then
  6. I see that CB Bucknor is already in mid season form.
  7. Funny....
  8. They couldn't hold a candle to the King and his court in their hay day. Yes I'm old
  9. One of my takeaways was about his first BYU coach Bronco Mendenhall, who left BYU for UVa a school that has a reputation of being a "party school". I wondered why he walked away after several successful seasons. It makes sense now.
  10. Savannah's a nice place (to visit). Short drive to HHI... The Banana gig looked like a one night stand...
  11. So Miggy may have a future???
  12. The picture was almost more of a Parker biopic that one for Elvis. I also think we compare a lot of these movies to Coal Miners Daughter. It's a tough compete
  13. Looks like a Pinewood Derby car I carved 60 years ago and came in last in.
  14. Everybody looked old at 55 then...
  15. TFG is in East Palestine, OH today armed with a sleeve or two of paper towels to help with the cleanup effort. Of course he'll be too busy thinking up dumb nicknames to explain why his administration spent 4 years rolling back rail safety and EPA regulations..
  16. Meanwhile, I was reading last night about a low power community FM radio station in Northern California that has begun fund raising to replace their tower that was felled during a windstorm. The original "tower" that held the antenna was actually a large tree. Somehow it actually passed FCC inspection.
  17. I had the urge to take this picture this morning. It's out my bedroom window and what I see at first light. There is something about that tall pine that resonates and assures me each morning.
  18. Not quite, but I did see something about banning citizens who moved from blue states to red states from voting for five years..... .
  19. My grandfather was a big fan of studio wrestling. Always on Saturday afternoons. I kind of picked up the habit for a while. We had the SE version (WCW) ??? Rick Flair, Ricky Steamboat, Anderson Brothers....the whole Jim Crockett group. I never really got involved with following the WWF
  20. The 80's cable systems also had the opportunity to watch teams on a regular basis. The Cubs on WGN, Braves on WSB (?) Ted Turner owned the station and the team. Same with the Cubs...The Tribune Company had control of WGN-AM and TV. There was also the Mets broadcast out of N.Y. in the Strawberry, Gooden hay day. There always seemed to be an afternoon game somewhere and gave the fans out of the metro areas to pick a team. Living in SE VA we had the Mets AAA team in the Tides as well as the Braves AAA guys in Richmond. That also contributed to an interest. Also the "Super Stations" as they were billed were over the air broadcasts they weren't blacked out in the home cities.
  21. T Mobile had a deal last year with MLB.COM on games. Trying to remember, but I think it was free. It did have the usual black out restrictions so if you're in the the Tiger's blackout area you're still out of luck.
  22. I prefer the term Traitor. Has anyone checked her whereabouts the evening of 1/5/2021 lately and checked her running shoes?
  23. I think I know why these guys can't hit during real games. No music...
  24. We had an early version of the cable box that if you turned it just right and used a match book cover) you could get some pay channels like HBO and The Playboy Channel.
