  1. His contract with Fox is $375 Mil for 10 years once he officially retires. What would he receive on a 1 year deal with an NFL team? I would imagine feelers have already been sent out to possible suiters and have come back negative.
  2. Anyone who straddles the Trump fence eventually ends up under the bus sooner or later.
  3. Almost enough to turn me into a Red Guardians (or whatever Bezos calls them, Bozos?) fan
  4. Great, now we get to put up with him sharing his wisdom on the Fox National Broadcast for the next 10 years.
  5. She's actually hoping for the VP slot
  6. Pamela Harris/ Pete Buttigieg vs Nikki Haley/Kari Lake. Then the "Founding Fathers" will rise from the grave and take us all back to the Promised Land
  7. Which is what happens when you pander to the lowest common denominator
  8. There's the potential rub for the Republican Party. 1) If Trump does not get the nomination and the 5% or so stay home that would cut into the historically slim margins the parties hold in key states (See Hilary in 2016 over the email leaks...her losses in Michigan and Pennsylvania could probably attributed to those stories) 2)Trump runs as a third party. See Ross Perot or Ralph Nader. In 1968 I think both parties saw Wallace as a game changer. Other circumstances played into the equation as well like the War in Viet Nam and the Chicago Convention riots.
  9. So basically the accused violators get to "buy their way" out of community service. Fifty hours at $10 an hour. Meanwhile in state like Texas, Florida and Tennessee women who were erroneously told they were allowed to vote are serving previous time. At the bare minimum these guys should forfeit their voting rights and lose their golf carts.
  10. The GOP a seems to wanting to walk a fine line between not wanting Trump and not wanting to piss off the 30% of the party that constitute his base. (How many members of the party in Congress still will not show contrition or backtrack on their vote Jan 6, 2021.) A lot of it depends on how many folks actually run for the nomination. If you look at a field that includes Trump, Desantis, along with Haley and Pence who are certainly sounding like candidates. Not to mention one or two others who seem to be pondering a run... Trump wins the nomination in a walk...
  11. Interesting new poll from The Bullwerk. It's behind their paywall. Basically shows Trump with approximately 30% of the vote among Republicans for the nomination. He still retains about 70% of serious Trumpers. (I realize serious Trumpers is a bit of an oxymoron) and loses in a head to head race with DeSantis 52-30. About 10% want somebody else. Basically Trump should hope for a crowded field like 2016 so others can split the vote. Especially since I think most state nominating races are winner take all.
  12. If you talk to a reporter expect everything to be on the record unless you explicitly say so in advance. It's even better to get it in writing.
  13. I see Haley has come to her senses (or maybe party consensus) and will not run. I'm on Team Elissa even though it might jeopardize the House seat for the Dems.
  14. You really need to factor a Beef&Cheddar in there somewhere. Possibly 3rd round. Too many Whoppers in the mix. (Yea, it's not the same as the others but you can't turn down the curly fries)
  15. While we're factoring things into the equation, this is also a major issue. Training time. Hell I've spent more time training volunteers to direct people to their gates than what most officers are getting.
  16. The acorn doesn't fall far from the tree...
  17. I've had a couple of broadcast industry owners relate they felt their smartest son was their daughter. (This was back before saying such things became politically incorrect) One owned radio stations just outside DC and in Roanoke, Va. He'd keep shipping his sons South to keep them out of his hair.
  18. Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt https://coinmarketcap.com/alexandria/glossary/fud
  19. When you get corrected by Fox News. Tucker and Hannity would have treated him with kid gloves, or at least come up with a new conspiracy to blame it on M&M consumption
  20. Rona gets to continue financing The Former Guy’s attorney fees. Ron D suffers a setback in the Insurrection Party sweepstakes
  21. TBH in my fantasy world I'd like to see them go after someone like Heinicke depending on what Washington does. (I see them rolling the dice with Howell to start the season). I think he would fit perfectly into the season. I'll go with conventional wisdom and think they'll draft to try to improve the defense with their first two picks. Possibly take a chance on a developmental QB in the 4th round. (Tanner McKee anyone???)
  22. I'm sure Eagles fans thought the same thing about Carson Wentz when they drafted Jalen Hurts. It never hurts to have a back up plan just in case something happens. Goff getting hit by a bus or a 300 plus LB DE. I like Goff and hopes he stays around a long time, but the current backup situation isn't great and I'm not a fan of band-aids (see Washington) If there is a guy they like available in the first round grab him. I'm not completely sold on Richardson, but I'm sure a couple years as a backup is better than Sudfeld or Blough
  23. Roy Face, 5'9" master of the forkball. He won 18 games in relief in 1959. One of my favorites in my pre teens, a couple of lifetimes ago.
  24. I was just reading an article in 538 about the flack the Eagles received for drafting Jalen Hurts in 2020. Now granted he was a second rounder (#53) but the Eagles had Carson Wentz who then was still considered a viable if not good QB. He had just signed a $128 million dollar extension in June. Howie Roseman said having a good QB was the bedrock of the Eagles philosophy. No one could have predicted that Wentz would turn to crap so quickly. That said, I still wouldn't use either of the Lions first two picks on a QB. I would prefer to build up the defense first. But if someone like Richardson was still available in the second round I might be tempted to take a look. https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/how-the-eagles-built-a-winner-by-overdrafting-quarterbacks/
  25. I'm not sure Junior Porter lasts to 18. 6 may be a stretch especially if you're looking for a DT/ DE. Is he worth giving up a pick to move up a bit from 18?
