  1. I had a chance to watch a couple playoff games last season. He is good.
  2. Brett Maher has now missed 4 extra point kicks in a row. 0-3 tonight, a new record.
  3. I'm not sure of the current situation but in 2020 Walled Lake seemed to be the pot capitol of SE Michigan. it's almost as if they've gone post prohibition. I'm in favor of legalization, the retail side seem to have gone the vape shop route where there is a store on every street corner. I almost hope VA goes the ABC type route. (They won't and the village I live near will consist of gun shops and pot stores)
  4. Seeing where Tesla has begun cutting prices. It seems partly because they can't compete on the lower end models and partly because to tax breaks for customers who buy EV's under $55,000. We've been seeing more Teslas in this area of the country. I'm thinking a lot of it is the proximity to the DC suburbs. https://www.axios.com/2023/01/16/tesla-price-cuts-elon-musk?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=newsletter_axiospm&stream=top
  5. Back in the days where you could get the so called Superstations on cable. Depending on your service it was either the Cubs (WGN, I don't think they ever had a SOX broadcast) with Harry Caray, Braves (WTBS) Skip Caray, Pete Van Wieren and Mets (WOR) Ralph Kiner was the big draw. Granderson said he grew up watching Braves baseball
  6. Granderson is a Chicago kid. He's been doing pre and post game stuff on the TNT broadcasts. I think he'd be good in someone's booth if that's what he wants.
  7. What I really would want in a broadcast team is two people talking baseball. I don't want over the top analysis or jock speak. Give me someone who can give me insight in a normal way. Treat the broadcast as if you're talking to another adult. And no over the top gushing. That may be the thing that I enjoyed the few times I've listened to Dickerson and Avila last season, it was two guys just talking baseball between the PBP. You don't need all the ball and strike stuff on TV. Give me the facts and a little insight.
  8. TBH most of the time when I do have the TV a broadcast on it's mostly white noise. If T-Mobile gives me the same deal this upcoming season, I'll continue with the radio overlay.
  9. Just curious on any word on the radio side. I assume the #2 job is Price's as long as he's able. I'm wondering if there is a succession plan in place. Is it even on anybody's radar.
  10. Too cheap to go after Alex Avila (maybe he doesn't want it) or Cameron Maybin (who was recently cut by YES). I have no clue how he sounds but he can't be as annoying as Craig. Then again it's the Illitch News Network
  11. Why anyone would want to do business in FLA is beyond me.
  12. I've seen more sexiness in Super Bowl Half Time shows
  13. AAA will be using Robo Umps behind home plate this year. Interestingly half the games will be called with the ABS system calling all balls and strikes the other half will be played using a challenge system. Umps will call the game with each team getting three challenges https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/35434317/sources-all-aaa-parks-use-electronic-strike-zone-23
  14. It also seems to be a way to delay/prolong trials and judgements. They keep doing things that chase away or fire attorneys. Every person deserves a day in court, but they are subverting the system and need to be tried in a timely matter.
  15. He's smart, let him defend himself since he won't play well with others
  16. RE litter boxes in schools, I did read somewhere where there are a few teachers who keep a bag of litter and a cat box in their classroom closets just incase it's needed during a lockdown and some lower grade students need to use the restroom. Makes more sense than the rumors and a lot of that information gets misconstrued along the way https://www.nbcnews.com/tech/misinformation/urban-myth-litter-boxes-schools-became-gop-talking-point-rcna51439 The Jefferson County school district disputed Ganahl’s claims and said its dress code prohibits costumes at school. The district — where Columbine High School is located — has been stocking classrooms with small amounts of cat litter since 2017, but as part of “go buckets” that contain emergency supplies in case students are locked in a classroom during a shooting. The buckets also contain candy for diabetic students, a map of the school, flashlights, wet wipes and first aid items.
  17. Communist Stop rewarding failure, reward teams that at least try to win
  18. I've long been a proponent of "rewarding" teams that make an effort. Give teams that just miss the playoffs the higher picks. #15 first (if you're talking NFL) and continue in order to 32. Looking at this year's standings it would go something like Lions, Steelers, Commanders, Packers, Patriots....down to the Bears. Playoff teams would draft in traditional order. I tried pushing that proposal for many years in draft leagues I've belonged and lost every time. Probably because my teams continually finished in the middle of the league while teams around me alternated between being very bad and very good.
