Compared to the other party candidates for Gov he was reasonable. It also helped that they rigged the nominating system in his favor. The fact that he refused to repudiate Trump and has spent a lot of time with Rafael Cruz was telling for anyone who follows that stuff.
BTW what has the current Republican Party proposed (or done for that matter) to solve the “crime problem” or even the “inflation problem” besides blaming Democrats
Wouldn't Trump back on Twitter violate whatever agreement he has with Truth Social. Not that ever stopped him before.
I'm not sure it would make much difference since his BS posts get posted on Twitter anyway.
Anyone who stayed awake during high school history class (is that a thing anymore) should know that the antebellum era Democrats morphed into the Republican Party in the late 60s and early '70s with Nixon's "Southern Strategy". LBJ admitted in 1964 when he signed the Civil Rights Act in 1964 that the party had lost its base of Dixicrats and the state Democratic machines south of the Mason Dixon Line. McGovern probably sealed the deal for anyone hanging on to the pro slavery South Will Rise Again folks.
The current crop of Trump Republicans make the likes of Harry Byrd and Strom Thurman look like sane liberals.
Some of us weren't ok with Thurmond, Feinstein should retire immediately. My Western Pennsylvania DNA is ok with a Fetterman over some carpet bagger from NJ no matter how he votes.
But then I never had a vote in any of those races.
I have come to the conclusion that debates don't matter much. Fetterman has been criticized for his performance. It probably would have worse if he had backed out. More fodder from the Oz campaign to campaign on his health.
Meanwhile it seems that the Trump Party's latest abortion argument is that women aren't capable of making informed decisions. Not just from Oz's comment but if you look around they seem to be saying it's up to the state legislatures.
Anybody remember their arguments about "death panels"?
My wife dropped hers off at the county registrars office here. The only option besides mailing for early voting. Really not surprising since we're in a smallish county. The only contest on the ballot is the congressional race and unfortunately it probably won't be a close contest.
She said there was a big yellow circle painted in the parking lot with a sign indicating no campaigning past the marker. There were three or four supporters of the insurrectionist incumbent sitting under a tree. That's about the closest we'll ever see our Congress critter in these parts.
Evidently from what I've read is that if a player exhibits signs of ataxia he is held out. While St Brown may have "passed" the concussion test, video determined he had signs prior to leaving the field, kicking in the concussion protocol.
