  1. I'm sure you'll be thrilled when the Don Kelly era begins...
  2. Good to hear things are going well. I thought about pinging you this week. I know all about the Medicare maximum. While not Cancer related my Ofev is now down to a reasonable $650 a month. Getting old is no fun
  3. My views go back to pre Rowe when having a child out of wedlock still carried a severe stigma. I know girls around 16, 17 or so who were forced to drop out of school. Get involved in "shotgun" marriages, that usually failed in the end. Or if older had to give up promising careers that they later regretted. Even if the child was given up for adoption, the stigma remained. Not that the "guilt" of having an abortion wouldn't be there as well. I think of the 20 something college educated woman who would have probably lost her job, had her family abandon her (there was a family history there). Even if she gave the child up she was already screwed...
  4. Same here. I think we settled on Love, Honor and Cherish or something like that. The last words were "This is my beloved, this is my friend" (Solomon 5:16)
  5. Hence the love, honor and OBEY DAMN IT, in the marriage vows.
  6. What about the fact there is nothing in any of these bills that punish the sperm donor? But then, these are the same people who discourage young women from reporting an assault or rape, most of the time do not believe her or accuse her of doing something that causes it. Even to the point where the accused gets away with murder.
  7. Mine is constantly in flux. A few all time must haves Weather Report, Birdland Don Williams, Good Ole Boys Otis Redding, Dock of The Bay Wilson Pickett, Land of a Thousand Dances Aretha Franklin, Chain of Fools Dire Straits, Walk of Life The Band The Weight Tower of Power, Don't Change Horses Tams, Be Young, Be Foolish Roseanne Cash, God is in the Roses edit... Need to add Bruce Hornsby, Mandolin Rain
  8. I'm old enough to remember when William Scott, R Virginia, was declared dumbest member of the Senate by his peers. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_L._Scott He was a genius compared to these folks
  9. I just tried it, got it on the first guess I'm retiring undefeated.
  10. As the saying goes. Democrats fall in love, Trumpublicans fall in line. Most just vote party not the person.
  11. Folks from Barrington?
  12. So is taking abortion laws back to 1976. Not to mention the desire to turn back the clock on gay rights. While the so called Christian Taliban can't take women back that far, the never did approve the ERA either. So if you follow Alito's thinking, women's rights are not actually mentioned in the constitution as far as their work rights are concerned. And in many cases they still get second class treatment to men in corporate America.
  13. He is just a couple steps away from attempting to make women second class citizens again. I'm old enough to remember that if an unmarried woman became pregnant she could kiss her career goodbye. And in some cases be disowned by family.
  14. Just curious how many of you are in favor of making the father at least pay 50% or more of the cost of the child that they helped create for the first 20 years or so of its life. And are willing to support legislation making it mandatory, with no excuses from the sperm donor.
  15. But, but, every sperm is sacred..
  16. I seem to remember paying something close to that on a home we bought in 1988. The first of a line of real estate failures... edit..looked it up, it was actually about 12%. it did reach 18% in the late 70s.

  18. I became a member of the four shot club over the weekend. Other than a sore arm nothing drastic.
  19. To quote JVL, JD Vance...the intellectual hillbilly, once again his career is made by handouts from powerful elites...
  20. He's endorsed all the JD's
