  1. Blame it on Trump's DOGE Boys
  2. Five years here and really don't know what to expect. Whether more kids from other nearby neighborhoods or the usual relatively low (under 25) number of kids we've had since we moved in. On the other hand we'll be traveling all next week and won't be home, my sister is dog sitting at our house and I don't want to leave her empty handed. Last year I was tempted to give out "Halloween Ducks" especially younger kids. Thought about kazoos as well.
  3. The Draft Dodger in Chief and his underlings sure know how recruit their standing Army
  4. I was just reminded this is the 50th anniversary of Carleton Fisk's iconic home run in the 1975 World Series. One of those shots that stays in sports TV archives. MLB.com has a great story on how the shot of Fisk waving the ball fair came to be https://www.mlb.com/news/carlton-fisk-home-run-rat-story?adobe_mc=TS%3D1761175936%7CMCMID%3D11690324914217096266954970920983166800%7CMCORGID%3DA65F776A5245B01B0A490D44%40AdobeOrg&affiliateId=mlbapp-ios_webview_news-index&rsid=mlbios.at.bat.new.implementation
  5. FYIW...Carlin's monologue
  6. All the Kings Horses and All the Kings Men can't undo what this pretender has done
  7. Interesting move. No professional coaching experience, this may be a mlb first
  8. Possibly some good news out of Indiana. Granted it's still a deep red state, but at least they're committed to proportionality to a certain extent..
  9. This popped up in my feed today https://andrewwhitehead.substack.com/p/how-do-religious-americans-view-the?utm_source=multiple-personal-recommendations-email&utm_medium=email&triedRedirect=true A few interesting takeaways
  10. Growing up as "white trash" I support this message found on Facebook
  11. I'm old enough to remember that day and the few following quite well. I was 10, I remember seeing teachers standing outside their classrooms murmuring as we took our bathroom breaks, or headed to recess. A lot of tension in the air
  12. It's long been my opinion that Paul (Saul) usurped JC's power long ago.
  13. When you've lost the Washington Times... https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2025/oct/20/lost-us-generals-senior-officers-say-trust-hegseth-evaporated/
  14. October 22 https://www.history.com/this-day-in-history/october-22
  15. Is Nancy Faust available. Would the Sox be up to loaning her out for game one? That along with the fans belting O Canada would be awsome
  16. And they all asked for and received permission from the governing office or offices charged with conducting an historical review and funding the project. Trump is a tenant of the White House not the owner. I'm sure our resident Troll would love it if he had rental property and the people paying him rent decided to completely remodel one of his houses without permission. Even if they were supposedly "paying for it" Trump NEVER pays for ANYTHING himself.
  17. October 21 https://www.history.com/this-day-in-history/october-21

  19. Or go back the the Bill Veeck one time promotion when he owned the St Louis Browns (pre Baltimore Orioles), have a group of fans make the manager's calls during a game https://sabr.org/gamesproj/game/august-24-1951-st-louis-browns-fans-manage-to-get-it-right-in-veeck-promotion/#:~:text=Ah%2C but then the realities, the way for the win.
  20. The White House is one of the major tourist stops in the city. How the heck did they think they could hide this.
  21. More damage to the White House than the British ever did.
  22. Both Rizzs and Rathbun were in a no win situation in Detroit. Following a legend who got tossed the way Ernie did at the time. They both ended up on their feet in a more amicable situation. Rizz, back to Seattle. Bob ended up in Atlanta (much closer to home and both he and his wife's family) Rathbun has had a good career doing college football and basketball. As well as being the Hawks lead announcer for several years. He also did Braves play by play for a while. In many ways, especially for sports media, Detroit fans have a bit of "small town" views when it comes to announcers. It's the "you're not from around here so your not one of us" attitude
