Christmas and wedding anniversary fall within 5 days of each other. It's really not a problem as we've started doing one "big" gift for the house or one we both can share. I did do a couple of "Christmas related "gifts' this year. Tickets to a Voices8 concert just before Christmas, along with a couple of other musical events related to Colonial Williamsburg. We also decided on a nice Christmas dinner out yesterday, After 38 years, it seems to work well for us

Did it have the spinning disc with different colors that would shine on the tree? The ones we've had usually had the lights attached. We just needed to add whatever other ornaments. Just hauling the box in and out of storage became a hassle, and after a couple of years it would be brelagated to a giant garbage type plastic bag. My major seasonal decoration these days are single candles in the windows

I have no problem with them flying in their machines, but around here there are a number who seem to transfer their piloting skills into their driving. I guess that's what you get putting a 20 or 30 something into a jet then have them transition into "rush hour" traffic. The same goes for young sailors who buy their first "muscle car"

My dad was a nurseryman, we spent many of years with a tree "borrowed from the farm" so to speak and replanted for later sale. I dislike cut trees and falling needles, no matter how well you keep them watered. We've gone the artificial route a few times, just too much work for a short period of time and with just the two of us at home if we don't travel around Christmas it's not wort the hassle now that our son is grown. I do have a wooden tree, it works well and gives me the same symbolism.
