  1. He starts out with a 44-49 percent approval rating. Already underwater. His cabinet post choices ratings are even worse. A 50-50 split on deportation. https://maristpoll.marist.edu/polls/the-trump-administration-january-2025/
  2. The real reason they're moving it indoors, 2009 vs 2017. Trump's afraid of this again https://bsky.app/profile/helenkennedy.bsky.social/post/3lfyfgsq6mk2w
  3. I'm currently rewatching Good Night and Good Luck. Edward R Morrow and McCarthy. Mr Morrow is probably rolling over in his tar stained grave... For a bit more context...the Morrow RTNDA ( Radio and TV News Directors Association) speech where he takes the News Media to task in 1958 https://www.americanrhetoric.com/speeches/edwardmurrowrtnda.htm
  4. I'd demand my money back
  5. As does little things like freedom of the press... https://bsky.app/profile/bradheath.bsky.social/post/3lfxoptjrzc2n
  6. A lot of times it takes three days or more to get in to see a physician. I've only tried the walk-in clinics once and that was on vacation.
  7. It's not as much about the swamp as the swamp but the creatures that inherit it.
  8. Wondering how high the bribes will go for a seat inside the Rotunda Monday
  9. Just a few close friends may show up.
  10. It's a bit like whack a mole.
  11. I get that and agree. So what happens if say China "sells" the app and algorithms to someone like Musk, who wants it and is a de facto member of the incoming administration. Are there any guardrails in the legislation to prevent them from using our "right to free speech" against us? Big Brother is out there on both sides. I guess we just need to pick our own poison
  12. 1893 Americans overthrow Hawaiian monarchy..
  13. Trump will overturn it Monday and the Chinese will sell it to Musk by the end of the week
  14. Tangerines taste better.
  15. 2016 was a combination of 8 years of Democratic control of the White House, hatred of Hillary Clinton for a number of reasons (including sexism), Clinton's ineptness on the campaign trail, over confidence among the average mainline Democratic voter, and a large dose of "I hate all the candidates" (which probably played a role in 2024 as well). There are still a large group of people in this country who will not vote for a woman or a person of color. Trump is a special circumstance. He played a role on TV that people bought into and many went no deeper than that.
  16. There were a lot of "moderate republicans" who were sick of his (Trump's) tactics after the first four years of DJT. COVID played a major role as well. Unfortunately Americans tend to keep their heads buried in the sand, and are fickle
  17. It's a bit apples and oranges and the data is from 2008, but... https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC2323087/ That's not counting those who may have insurance and are stuck on transplant waiting lists or worse get "fired" by their doctors for asking too many questions.
  18. I guess some things haven't changed in 250 years
  19. Speaking of Tic-Toc. The current MAGA Party "Flip-Flop" https://bsky.app/profile/drewharwell.com/post/3lfv7icvkv22k
  20. JB's taking his last couple of days off. Probably because the SC is dragging its feet on Tic-Toc as well. Put it in Musk's boy's hands https://bsky.app/profile/nbcnews.com/post/3lfvblotsf22i
