  1. They did. I believe the Liston/Clay (Ali) was one. Ali/Frazier may have been another as well as Ali/Foreman. All back before pay per view cable was available.
  2. I don't know but if you take a ride along I-95 on the East Coast. Just about every other billboard is a "Personal Injury" lawyer
  3. Don't forget bankrupting an entire football league among his greatest hits
  4. Next year is the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. There had been hope that the celebrations might come close to rivaling those in 1976 for the 200th anniversary. Many of the organizations that were part of the individual state celebrations are now having to deal with DOGE budget cuts. https://www.axios.com/2025/04/15/doge-neh-grant-cuts-americas-250th-birthday?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=newsletter_axiospm&stream=top
  5. My dad and granddad didn't drink. Uncles on my mother's side would do so at family picnics. The beverage of choice back then was Iron City. Quite easy not to acquire the habit at a young age. It wasn't until I was 18 (17j and lived away from home

  7. Have the price of eggs gone down, has anything except prices for Musk's junkers been reduced?
  8. We went a few times when it first opened. Our son was at MSOE and we would drive up from the Chicago suburbs to catch a game. Good sight lines. I did prefer the atmosphere better when it was open, but it was ok closed
  9. How many others on both sides of the aisle have done this. They need the Martha Stewart treatment and banned from holding office and voting again
  10. I was shanghaied one year into becoming a den leader. Was told there wasn't any space for my son if I didn't take the position. The first year .my schedule wasn't exactly friendly for weekday afternoons, my job ended around 6:30 and it made it tight. I gave it a try anyway.I think they gave me most of the "problem kids" Gave the kids cookies or other sugary treats at the end of the meeting and sent them home on a sugar high. They found someone the next year. I was happy as the "assistant"
  11. Especially friendly, courteous and kind
  12. Somebody tell the 400 thousand souls who died from COVID under Orange Tubby's first Regiem
  13. I know a lot more mature 12 year olds than most if not all members of the Trump Regiem
  14. April 14 https://www.history.com/this-day-in-history/april-14
  15. There was nothing better as a kid than listening to games late at night with a transistor radio under the pillow. All those 50 thousand watt AM powerhouse.
  16. I am an Eagle Scout (once an Eagle, always an Eagle they say). Our troop was in a small town with a great leader and program that probably can't be duplicated now. Most every kid who stuck with it attained the rank. My son tried scouts, just wasn't his interest. I probably wasn't much help since my work hours at the time conflicted with troop events. I was also a bit critical of the adult leadership at the time (30 plus years ago). Times change and scouting has tried to keep up. I guess being Trustworthy, Loyal, Helpful, Brave, Clean and Reverent is considered to the antithesis of the current group of our nation's leaders.
  17. Boy Scouts too woke?
  18. Interesting, as an aside, I think I may still have a copy of the George Brace book mentioned in the article. Some great photos of players
  19. It wasn't easy but Rory got his Grand Slam
