My last thought on this, since I have already been called a Facist wacko..... That scenario you use is my issue not the zipper or rhythm method (I kid 🤣). Everyone is patiently waiting in line then a drivers gets impatient and whips out of line and hammer down to the front. Why is it ok for them to do this? I equate THAT to waiting in line at the bank or a fast food joint and somone feels their time is more important than everyone elses in line so they elbow their way to the front of the line because they just can't wait any longer. Now if the closing lane is full of vehicles and everyone is moving and merging or zippering that is fine but the scenario above to me is different as the line is orderly and moving at some kind of pase.....

Good point but bad analogy. Those lines don't merge, if they did you would then have people jockying to stay ahead in line and getting pissy with each other no?

I would say that 85-90% of folks in HERE are college educated living well above the poverty line but is that the majority of the voting Americans? I was only commenting on the question asked. Depends on who you ask. Folks working from home in their nice little enclave, still counting all that extra stimmy money and can't figure out how to spend it all will stay on point with Dobbs. The rest of America worry where they will offset the higher costs.

Yes they are. You have to figure moving 50, 53' containers using 2-3 man team on a train. Compared to 50 CDL truck drivers plus fuel. You have the drayage driver taking it from the yard to final destination but you cut 2k-3K OTR miles off.

I see the advantage with that. Good luck getting everyone in traffic to buy into the zipper merge. Sounds like the perfect fuel for road rage situations.

I am talking about the folks that come flying down the lane getting ready to end. Everyone else has been waiting patiently while the traffic moves slowly. Then the guy who you can see coming from 1/4 mile back flys passed everyone and THEN turns on his blinker 4-5 cars back from the end of the merge. Those guys can pound sand.

I am maintaining my lane, no worries for me. The best is when the semi hops out and stops the saps from flying by, they get it.

Nothing gives me more pleasure than NOT allowing that driver who had plenty of time to get over but tries to merge at the last second. Those guys cause bottlenecks and accidents. It's like why would I merge with everyone else? You know my time is more important than yours.
