  1. gotcha!
  2. I didn't catch that one... But otherwise, I think I'm mostly correct...
  3. I think the primary issue with Campbell right now is he has to think too much. That slows his reaction times down. We won't know exactly what he is until he starts reading offenses better/ faster, and can just react with instincts instead of thinking about his responsibilities and where to go. When the game slows down for him, then we'll see what we've got. I believe this is normal for 1st year LB'ers, most of 'em... because there's so many reads/ responsibilities that they have...
  4. To be fair though... THESE Palestinian prisoners are primarily rock-throwers (teenagers) and soldier-slappers (Palestinian women)... They haven't gotten to the hard-core murderers, bombers, etc. yet. When it comes to releasing male Jewish hostages and soldiers... Hamas will demand the more deadly prisoners. So far it's been women and children and foreigner hostages for women and teenager prisoners...
  5. The ONLY thing that matters for Partisan Hackery...
  6. Netanyahu's and his supporters are extremist West Bank land grabbers. That's what always has kept him in power. Hamas is the perfect foil, as Jim calls them, for that purpose.
  7. I think the O-Line healing in these 10 days will do wonders for them...
  8. The two state solution was broken a decade prior to Netanyahu. By Hamas. So... yes, let's blame it on Hamas. Initially. Netanyahu joined in because it suited his purposes perfectly. As did all of the other "Ultra" or extremist-factions in Israel. But he is NOT the main reason, initially, that the 1993 Oslo Accords fell apart. He came to that "party", LATER. It was Hamas that broke that agreement, first and foremost. And I'm not calling Israel innocent in the matter either. Just trying to get facts/ timeline straightened out. Yes, both extremist sides are each other's perfect foil.
  9. that's the very short (and effective) version of what I said...
  10. Actually... looking at her previous roles it looks like I've seen her at least half a dozen times already...
  11. I don't believe I've seen her in anything else or, nothing that I can recall. She seems perfectly suited for this role however and is doing a great job acting so far... IMO.
  12. Which means more acquisitions, by default. Sorry Chas, you are, technically, off-base.
  13. I think the Tigers were, and still are, serious about obtaining Yamamoto... and nothing has changed. I believe Maeda is part of that plan. It doesn't guarantee that we end up with Yamamoto... obviously competitors against us... And it wouldn't bother me if it was a Yamamoto as Plan A, with Imanaga as a Plan B, plan that they are following, in fact, I'd be all for that. So, bottom line... I'm sticking with the Yamamoto plan, and the belief that that IS their game plan. At least until the game is over.
  14. What I have seen over the past few decades is that whenever a deal would start to get close enough, Palestinian militants would start an Intifada or some other violent action to skupper the deal as they DON'T want a deal... they want the Jews exterminated. That's Hamas' philosophy. I'm not calling Israel innocent, they are not. Yes, they've stolen or threatened or used "illegal construction" to demolish homes and used the courts as well, and other "pseudo-legalisms", to steal land. They have been repressive and Palestinian violence has in good part been because of Israeli actions. But I've also seen violence coming directly out of the possibility of finalizing a two-state solution. There are large Palestinian elements who do NOT want a two-state solution. And most likely large Israeli factions as well. This toxic mix has produced nothing but heartache or worse for the majority of Palestinians who would just like to have a normal, decent life, in their own country not beset by Israeli interference or repression or theft, not beset by corrupt Palestinian authorities who do not help the situation, nor beset by Palestinian factions unwilling to allow Jews to live in Jewish ancestral homelands but willing to use violence whenever it suits them resulting in more death and angst for the Palestinians who just want to end this cycle. I don't see an end to this cycle. And it is NOT all in Israeli hands to end this cycle, in fact they've given up and are simply making a push to grab as much land as they can at this point. No, it is also in the hands of Hamas' since they REJECT a two-state solution and have a multi-decade record of murder and violence whenever the two-state solution gets close enough to implement. So how do you see an end to this cycle when HAMAS will do EVERYTHING POSSIBLE to THWART a two-state solution?
  15. Here's the funny thing: Hamas IS the Palestinians. What? Do people think Hamas is imported from Egypt or something? The IDF estimated 30,000 to 40,000 Hamas armed terrorists in Gaza. Those 30-40K Hamas...? ARE Gazans (Palestinians). They are not Saudis, or Turks, or Egyptians, they ARE Palestinians. Hamas RECRUITS Gazans (Palestinians). Hamas is MADE UP of Gazans (Palestinians), in Gaza, (can't say outside of Gaza, or top leadership which could come from any Palestinian camp or Gaza or West Bank...). Palestinians (at least those in Gaza) are not a "third" side. They are deeply intertwined with Hamas, and ARE Hamas.
  16. Still in the process of watching all of Fargo chronologically.... some notes: To Rob - just to reiterate, you do NOT have to watch any of the previous seasons to understand season 5.... these are all stand alone seasons and movie. Tonight at 10 on Fx is season 5, episode 3... hope you were able to catch ep's 1 and 2 which were shown on the same night and reprised this past Saturday night in case you missed Tuesday... Chronologically it goes: Season 4 Season 2 Movie Season 1 Season 3 There is very little connective tissue between seasons but it's definitely not zero. The timelines are so far apart is what makes each season a standalone, for the most part. I've really enjoyed this, chronologically, it's the first time I've tried it as such... The minor connective tissue, for those interested, is: Season 4 begets Mike Milligan (just a child here...). Mike Milligan plays a key role in Season 2. Which begets Molly Solverson (just a child here). The movie begets a suitcase filled with $1M (less the $80K removed), and a car winter-window-scraper. Season 1 Molly takes center stage, the suitcase and scraper are minor (but not unrelated) storylines. Season 1 begets Mr. Wrench. Season 3 Mr. Wrench plays a minor, but very interesting role.
  17. You're discounting whether other teams made players available (Danielle Hunter, Maxx Crosby and Patrick Surtain III were NOT available) or whether we wanted to spend the cost (a 1st rounder for Sweat in order to beat the Bears 2nd rounder) for a pending FA or whether a problem case (Chase Young) was even wanted here. They made their decisions. I can live with those decisions and see what they have up their sleeve in the offseason to make further improvements. As stated by others, the Lions window is JUST OPENING, not at the end of their window in which you make last gasp efforts to continue the run... The Ken Holland reference is not appropriate IMO.
  18. There are quite a few of us on here (to my surprise...) that have a dislike of adult fairy tales...
  19. They are what their record says they are. A quality playoff team. A very good team. Above average, above the mean. But after the Ravens game, I asked the question: What will it take to get us to the Elite Teams level...? Because we're not an elite team. We're a very good team with a very good record that is a playoff-level team. It's not as if they can't be beat. They can. Obviously. But I'm looking forward to them getting so far above the mean and into the upper echelon, that that kind of talk becomes moot point. No more regression to the mean talk for me. I'm not interested. They need a few more playmakers to get there, all on defense. Here's to hoping Holmes is able to find those guys...
  20. Shouldn't. But it appears that it does make a difference.
  21. Which goes back to the health of the O-Line, IMO. We need a healthy Jonah Jackson. Imperative... IMO.
  22. I believe posting fees do not count at all against luxury tax. Just call it a sunk fee in "cost of acquisition" but it doesn't count against salaries or luxury taxes...
  23. But YOUR argument is that Ilitch would NOT even spend that money. Now, you're changing your argument? PS: One player? Like Javier Baez?
  24. The hitters are **** this year. There are no good $15M hitting options. So... Pitching.
