This is going to require direct action against Iran. Maybe sooner rather than later. They are directly fomenting this.
-
North Carolina just gerrymandered their House seats to dump 3 Dem districts and replace them with MAGA. There are these, and other headwinds against Dems saving our democracy from the MAGA Fascist ****wad Faction.

4-1. Loss.
-
Whatever happens, trade or no trade... Big trade or small... Trust in Holmes.
-
They're playing like it... Down 2-0 after 1st period.

In other words: It's right-wing sociological problems within White Trash America. Their sense of entitlement. Their sense of violent hatred towards anyone who is not just like them (ethnicity/ religion/ ideology/ whatever...). And their military grade weaponry that they've armed themselves with. They've been lashing out for over 20+ years. Mass murders. Cultural rampages. Some with mental issues, many without, only burning hatreds instead. We're on the verge of losing this country to violent fascists that Trump is trying to cajole into action. We're almost there.

I know you're sad about this G2... But it's essentially correct. Corroborative Theories:

Counter-Counterargument - Trust in Holmes. I also don't believe he would go "all in" or "go for broke" for anyone... But what I would say... is that if Holmes makes a trade for 1 guy or 4 guys (CB, DE, WR, a... kicker?!); that he will properly assess talent and the value of that talent and not overpay. Which may or may not include a top star that is expensive (in draft capital and future Salary cost/ commitment); but, most importantly I don't think he will "bet the farm" on any 1 guy and just throw away too much in future draft capital... I think he would make opportunistic trades (let's just say DJ Chark for a future 6th... just throwing something like that out), find a guy who he can get for value (IE: an under-the-radar CB for a 5th...), and may even decide that he can afford to trade an excess player to reduce the cost of obtaining a guy (Jerry Jacobs + 1st for a top CB or Houston + draft pick for...). Not that those players are excess, but trading for a guy that fits into their position will make a guy, or several guys possibly, expendable. I have no idea what is or is not workable in NFL trades... I guess all I am saying is that I Trust in Holmes to make the right decisions on players/ cost. I'll wait to see what he ends up actually doing or not doing and evaluate from there. But I believe 100% in his ability to evaluate and assess...

Lot's of arrogance after that shootout goal... But... I'd take it...
-
Let me rephrase that: I think we need to address the F.U. Republican Party we-wanna-arm-every-Republican-to-the-teeth so we can intimidate non-whites and take over the country with our Fascist-designs Problem.
-
I think we first need to address our violent fascist White Trash Bigoted Hate-Everybody-And-Armed-Up in order to go on a Murder-Rampage problem.
-
Armed Morality Police are next in America... Per MAGA.

So ****ing gross. Now we live in Saudi Arabia, or Iran?

So the "moderates" did buckle. And the answer to this question is: Mike Johnson. (With a noted look of disappointment/ resignation on my face...).

10/25/2023 7:30 EDT Detroit Pistons vs Miami Heat

The Milwaukee Bucks "Long-armed defenders" defense. We can only hope to get there (or at least a reasonable facsimile) one day... -
PS: Just because Keith is closer to MLB, and came into the system as a 3B'man... I THINK I would prefer to send Jung over... but that's a really hard call so... I'm glad I'm not the one who has to make that decision...
-
I would be good with obtaining Kim if that's doable for us... It probably would include 1 of Keith or Jung, just a guess, but flip a coin on which one to send back over... plus other (minor league) secondary pieces, like a Flores or Hurter, my guess...
-
Yamamoto and Hader are free agents. Why is that laughable versus the Padres, out of the goodness of their heart, sending us Soto or Tatis?
-
Yamamoto, Hader, and Tatis if we can finagle that trade...

2023 Pistons Regular Season Discussion Thread
1984Echoes replied to 1984Echoes's topic in Detroit Pistons
First question(s): What's going on with Hayes, and Ivey? They are not doing what we thought they would be doing, at least by pre-season expectations... IE: Is Hayes actually breaking out? Is Ivey relegated to the bench or does he ascend (all dependent on his defensive play...) back to a starting spot? Is he BETTER as a 6th man than as a starter? -
I think they're going to coalesce around Johnson. He of election denial/ refusal to certify the electoral count/ and author of the amicus brief to the Supreme Court to suspend MI/ PA/ etc's votes in an attempt to overturn 2020. And the "moderates" are good with this. Is anyone in the Republican Party still interested in democracy? The Constitution of the United States? The United States of America itself? Do they want to split off the center/south of the country and create United Whites Only America States? Just asking...

This still has to pass Turkey's legislature and then... Hungary is still playing ****ing games with this and they also have not passed Sweden's admission through their legislation. Their government says yes, their legislature says... nothing, so far. Proposal: Hungary's authoritarianism and still-boot-licking of Russia/ Putin is also vexing NATO and the EU... so, solution: England/ Germany/ US (whomever) propose to kick Hungary out of NATO and add Sweden. Hungary can not vote on getting kicked out of NATO so only all other countries aside from them can vote on this measure. I don't think this measure would even need to come to a vote as I think the Proposal itself will move Hungary off their asses and do a swift approval of Sweden's accession into NATO. However, if it actually did come to a vote anyways, I wouldn't be opposed to holding that vote, nor would I cry over Hungary's expulsion. The reality is that Poland and Turkey would vote to NOT expel Hungary... but I think even HAVING this vote would send a HUGE message(s) to everyone in NATO: Quit ****ing around with Putin. Quit ****ing around with anti-democratic authoritarianism. And get your ****ing priorities straight. Just my 2 cents.

Just thought I would toss this into the discussion ring for those season long types of issues...

To whit: https://www.yahoo.com/news/screwed-anguished-house-gop-seeks-233759265.html ...Yet there’s little hope for relief among the bitterly divided GOP, where the fruitless search for a speaker has become so miserable that some members even floated a return to former Speaker Kevin McCarthy — with Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) as an “assistant speaker.” (The idea has not been taken seriously inside the conference, though McCarthy later received 40-plus votes on the final ballot, coming in second to Johnson.) Others are again mulling ways to empower acting Speaker Patrick McHenry, maybe even without a formal vote on the floor, an idea that risks constitutional challenges. “The animosity is high,” Rep. Mario Diaz-Balart (R-Fla.) said. Fellow Floridian Rep. Mike Waltz, added: “My fear is that if we keep doing this somebody is going to side with the Democrats."
-
Straight: They'll bring it to the floor to try and pressure for Johnson to win, even if he doesn't have the 217 in conference. Which opens the floor up to anything, including 5 deciding to do a switch to Jeffries in order to end the pain. Subterfuge: Mods say: "yeah yeah, sure... we're on board"; but do not actually agree with any agreement that caters to the Fascist Faction. On the full House vote...
