Maybe it's just me, but... And I'm only reading scouting reports like everyone else, but... I still don't like this draft, overall. I like Clark Kent and Professor McGonigle and Paul Wilson... and that's it. Everyone else looks meh, or worse. Usually there seems to be more workable tools to work with, even if guys never actually make it. There just seems to be a whole lot of "lacking too much skills here, there, and everywhere, to have any kind of shot" outside of those 3 guys here... First impression: outside of 3 guys, I don't like it.

So... Never mind Izack Tiger... Why didn't we pick Justin STORM?

There are a few I think are worth the risk. Especially if we are talking 3rd round or later.

Avila's closest looks like 2020 where he drafted Torkelson (MLB), Keith (on the verge), Flores (signed as undrafted after the 5-round draft) & Dingler (both still have some hope). I think Gage Workman and Danny Cabrera are washing out. Maybe Trei Cruz still has a hope & a prayer...?

OK. Because otherwise I'm taking that as a personal insult. But just kidding is certainly ok... But also: I don't see where AA went all in on anything. That was a huge part of the problem. He half-arsed everything which led him to being shown the door. So I guess I still don't get the reference...

1) Yes, expectations are playoffs. 2) No. Getting into the playoffs are hard, especially in the East. And the Wings are trying to break through a rebuild to get back to that level, haven't been there in a long time, so... No, if they miss, I'll assume it is either due to bad breaks or just, tough competition. What I really want to see is strong strides taken in that direction, even if 2023-24 ultimately isn't their year/ break-through.

I'm going to amend that (personally, for myself...) to getting: a solid CF'er and a solid SS and 1 solid starter and 1 solid reliever = it's a major win.

I think he works mid-90's and can reach upper (97) per the scouting reports... There's probably a small amount of projectability in there...

PS: Wilson was ranked 51 by MLB...

I was eyeing Sykora but Wilson also has a really nice profile. Upper 90's lefty with excellent breaking pitches and a little inconsistent in mechanics which could/ should be ironed out. 6' 3" too as I like pitchers bigger rather than undersized....

Currently I would think those two are on the September call-up path...

Dingler too... But he's currently on the Jake Rogers track... I was hoping for a bit more Piazza there... at least on offense...
