  1. Well that makes it easy for us... Thank you Pirates!!!
  2. PS: I'm keeping my eye on Tyler Mattison, 4th rounder from last year I believe, currently in AA.
  3. Lange is the closer for now, not for the future. Need better, agree. I'll bet Hinch won't do this. But he should. Last point on Lange: If he's the last piece that must be included (let's say a team wants/ and MUST have both Eduardo & Lange) that nets us a premium prospect... There are no objections from my side.
  4. This is also his 1st year back from TJ... Giving Rogers Saturday and Sunday off right before the AS break gives him a nice long breather. Before finishing out the season after the break... My guess is that's the thinking.
  5. Putin is driving Russia's economy, and near-future prospects... right off a cliff... implosion imminent: https://finance.yahoo.com/news/putin-cannibalizing-russias-economy-war-201500126.html
  6. Good timing... Manning looks like he is really starting to struggle. Now, Foley... maintain the pace please...
  7. Yes. Which is why I did NOT list him. I only pointed him out in the Shreve commentary to point out the difference in value between the two. Englert, 23, has a potential future with the Tigers, even if he isn't pitching all that great. Shreve, at 32, can be replaced. Once a lefty replacement is found for him... that is.
  8. A couple of migraine pills.. Loaded up on caffeine... Always dangerous for a high-metab guy like me...
  9. I think he'd be an excellent middle reliever, or maybe even late innings reliever... at 2 or 3 innings a pop... You'd only spot start him in an emergency. A RH'ed Alexander so to speak... and I actually like Ty in this role: middle innings only, spot starter only in an emergency...
  10. I don't hate on Schoop or Miggy or anyone.. It's just that... When it's time to move on... It's time to move on.
  11. Do we have a Chopping Block Ranking? Here's mine (with commentary): Miggy - not happening until he retires in the offseason but... I'm just putting him here as a reminder that's it is past his expiration date... #1 on my list to move on from... He's actually been decent in June/July so no stress just waiting until the offseason... But, it's time. Offseason = retirement. Done. Eduardo - I'm not against Eduardo at all. In fact, I'd love for the Tigers to buy out his option for $10 mill or $15 mill or whatever it might be. Although that probably has a sensible limit to... don't know where sensible changes into unreasonable/ too costly but... outside of that, he's our biggest trade chip at the deadline. So if we don't buy out his option... interested in seeing what kind of return Harris can generate. Cisnero - is he worth anything at the deadline? Shreve - They're going to keep Shreve as they need a second LH'er... but if they find someone who's a better option then maybe a swap occurs... Also, Englert has been slightly worse, but he's 23, not 32, and still has some future... I don't see Shreve actually moving until they find a replacement, to be blunt about it... Sean Guenther down at Toledo...? I mean... maybe? Other than him (not inspiring, at best...); we got nothing down below from the port side... Haase - I'm not against Haase either... far from it. I'm just putting him on here for completeness. But he's tricky as, obviously, the team would need to replace him with another catcher... And I don't see Sands as the temporary answer (I mean... maybe? but I see him as AAA depth only...), and Dingler is not going to be ready just yet. I only see this happening if the return on Eduardo includes a major-league ready LH'ed batting catcher, and then Haase also gets moved at the deadline... Just a WAG...
  12. If we can get all our starters healthy and back in Detroit's or Toledo's rotation... I believe it should be time to move Faedo to the bullpen. I think he could dominate there. But... it's always tricky, and it seems to be especially so, for the Tigers to maintain a stable of healthy starters....
  13. Time will tell... But always hopeful. The flipside is that sometimes the population falls into a "popular" mood and elect complete and total jackasses into office, that end up destroying the country. Russia is the "now" example. But the one that resonates most distinctly to me is Venezuela. A booming economy and beautiful democracy that went populist and elected Hugo Chavez and then Nicholas Madura, both "populists", into office... who then, both, proceeded to completely and totally destroy the economy, democracy, freedoms, and (current and near) future of Venezuela. That's what Trumpians want to do to the United States of America: destroy it. Trump and his MAGA supporters can go **** themselves.
  14. PS: And just to F with Russia... a plan laid out for Georgia's admittance (even if they never regain Abkhazia or South Ossetia), as well as an outreach program to Armenia and Azerbaijan to gauge their interest in joining.
  15. Major hopes for NATO (in Vilnius) to establish current-times (and for the future) mutual security parameters across Europe, including industrial support complex, mutual cyber security, needed investments (struggling against EU finance ministers preferring "bread" to bullets), interoperability, etc...: https://www.yahoo.com/news/nato-task-vilnius-simple-transform-171724871.html Major hopes for me... All of the above... As well as... Sweden's admission into NATO. And Ukraine's pre-admission into NATO with a clear plan forward for their admission... including steps in which they've regained all of their territory but also a clear plan if they do NOT regain 100% of their territory. Regardless of whether they can accomplish that, I want a clear plan for admittance laid out for Ukraine. In my humble desire...
  16. ... But on this I am not: I am... CELEBRATING!!!
  17. I think he did that on purpose... I don't know why, but...
  18. Schoop to me is completely and totally worthless at this point. That's my only argument.
  19. Even better if he said: "We are voting for Sweden's membership in NATO today." Ukraine is going to take awhile to upgrade to NATO spec's, regardless of what Erdogan says. And both the US and NATO have already come out and stated that a country has a right to join NATO if it so desires... Erdogan's statement didn't say anything that hasn't already been said by NATO leadership.
  20. I'm with Lee... the trade absolutely would have happened. They were moving Soto, no matter what. And Harris wanted Maton and Vierling because they had EXACTLY the profile that he was looking for.
  21. Another 19th round pick, like Kerry. Carpenter 2.0 would be hugely welcome! Although he's RH'ed and plays 1B... Hmmmm...
  22. I don't want 2 or 3 DeBrincat's... I want a Pastrnak and a Jason Robertson to go along with one DeBrincat.
  23. Actually... What they don't like is that she's sucking up to McCarthy. That's a no-no to them. Calling Boebert a "little b"... Just an excuse to giver her the boot IMO...
