Oh Barry... Wherefore art thou?

Good. Kick him upstairs. I'm sure he can still do good for the Org... Just not on the court.

I think that's weak sauce for a Lions team that is more interested in obtaining dynamic playmakers. I prefer the trade #6 and #18 for Jeffery Simmons and #11 and #72. Select Bijan, Gonzalez, Witherspoon or Murphy at #11. These are the types of playmakers Holmes is looking for. And they still have #48, 55, 72 and 81 (plus 5th and 6ths) to maneuver around and go after a player they like, or to just stay put and take those kind of depth players in this area... OG Avila, CB DJ Turner, LB Simpson or Henley, OT Freeland, RB Charbonnet, C/OG/OT Tippman, Safety Jordan Battle, WR Rice, DE Derick Hall, CB Ryu Blu Kelly, TE Musgrave, TE Kincaid, OG Mauch, LB Sanders, DT Adebawore, WR Tillman, LB Campbell, etc., etc... Yeah, there are all sorts of depth guys who could turn into starters in the 2nd and 3rd. I want playmakers with our two 1sts. As does Holmes.

... to Pander to the Kremlin. ... to Spread KGB (FSB) Propaganda as far and as wide and as quickly as they can. ... to Lick Putin's Boots. ... to be basically Russian Stooges. ... Russian Fascism instead of American Democracy or American Exceptionalism. ... would rather be Russian than a Democrat... or basically, an American. Solution: Exile them to Siberia for the next 25 years so they can write a report on their experiences as a Russian peasant in a fascist dictatorship, and how much they enjoyed being Russian rather than an American. That could be interesting.

From out of the woodwork the Astros pull out Cristian Javier. Not a huge amount of MLB experience so far... part-time reliever but really a starter = 45 starts out of 80 games and 310 inn's so far, early in his career. From the Dominican... Allows 5.8 hits per 9. K's 11.15 per 9. WHIP of 1.05. Harris... you better be able to find guys like this. Isn't this what you meant by "controlling the strike zone"? I want one. Or two, or three... -
Ding, ding, ding, ding, ding! Simple but sweet. And very very accurate.

You've already reserved your seat for the Victory March in Red Square... right? Better hurry now, before they lose it right back!!!

We get the #37 Competitive A pick and the #45 in the 2nd round in addition to the #3 overall so that should also add a bit of excitement... see who falls due to money that we may be able to take advantage...

Bur let me introduce a compromise: Both. I know WS's are Counting and WS/48 are Rate stats... so: WS's as the starting point and WS/48 as the context. I have the top 9 or 10 by WS's listed in my word doc so I won't relist them.... It has Bey as the #6 by counting stats, but now for the context: As you've pointed out, Ball at #7 has 60 less games (and 1500 min's) played and therefore loses on the counting side. But shifting to WS/48, Ball is at 0.97 per 48 and Bey is at 0.78 per 48. Obviously Ball is the better player. Bey has played more games/ minutes... Bey, in fact, loses to several other players just below him in WS's when WS/ 48 is taken into account (Martin Jr. at 0.95, Stewart at 0.97, etc...) So... I don't have the final solution, or formula... but I believe that not just one of these stats suffices to tell enough of the story about a player because each has certain limitations. This is where arguing over which player is better becomes quite entertaining as it's hard to point to definitive numbers that are absolute. There is always... context. -

WS/48 also creates major contextual problems so no, I am ruling that out. For example, back to the 2020 draft: The top 9 players by WS/48 are #1 Onyeka Okwangu (#6 pick), Paul Reed (58th selection), Grant Riller (56th), Nick Richards (42nd), Xavier Tillman (35th), Haliburton, Bane (30th), Azubuike (27th), and Skylar Mars (50th). No... WS/48 introduces small sample size and bench guy biases (decent player better than most other bench guys.. or garbage minutes, or a combo) creating noncomparable WS/48's so... no. -

Cade has an excuse as he's played less than one full year versus most others have played two full years. I don't have a problem using win shares understanding the context. -
I would not be upset at all... If he ran for the 2024 presidency in an orange jump suit. I think it would be apropos. I mean, IIRC, he would be constitutionally ineligible in an orange jumpsuit anyways. But... in fact... perfect! INCLUDING all the votes he would garner from Republicans in his orange jumpsuit. Emblematic in fact. Probably would need to be a write-in candidate due to the Constitution of the United States. But he would STILL get those MAGA-Republican votes anyways... we all know it.

He's gotta hit something though... Nothing at the plate even if he's a great fielder keeps him as a utility guy... And forget the cloning... -
Luff scores 3-0.

I love that cat (pic). -
Yeah I saw that... Surprised me that he got this start as I also thought he was out for the season.
-
Actually... I guess I should have posted this here: Wings busting out quickly tonight with 2 goals in the first 10 minutes leading 2-0 over the Canadiens... Apparently they do not know who Connor Bedard is nor do they care...

Or that black cat I saw earlier today has hexed me... -
So regardless whether he is 6' 2" or actually 6' 0" he is officially "obese". Comical the lengths he went to have his doctor lie his ass off on something that was plain as day...
-
PS: I've seen Hooker in some mocks 20-ish-to-late-1st... Let's see what NFL GM's (or at least one of 'em) thinks about that...
-
Yeah... I don't think QB's are going 1-5. I think there's a greater chance they go 1-3. I don't know what the chances they might go 1-4... or 4QB's plus Carter... but it'll be wild to watch this coming draft methinks... And we'll see if Anderson falls into our laps and what Holmes wants to do with him if that should happen... Gonna be fun for any and all draftniks...
