  1. I don't believe that he is. No thanks. I'd be extremely pleased with getting one of Anthony Richardson (I'll take the lotto ticket here... if Holmes decides he's the right guy), Bijan Robinson, Tyree Wilson, Myles Murphy, or Christian Gonzalez at #6. I would be extremely displeased if we trade up for Anderson, and it's not even close.
  2. I don't think his progress will be impeded. I just think he needs to experience the NHL physical game in order to realize how much strength he will need to gain. Then the rest is up to him, and the Red Wings trainers... In fact, I'd be perfectly fine with calling him up for his 9 games, so he can see first-hand what it means to be in the NHL... I'm just sayin'... I think he'll struggle with the physicality in the NHL for a year or two, until he gets stronger. Which will also help him stay on his feet... But also... I think we'll see flashes of his tremendous talent when he's playing with the Wings... it's just that, from what I saw, there's some specific (weight & strength training) work he needs to do...
  3. Struck out on my first Adopt-a-Tiger (since the old forum...): Jackson Jobe. I think I'll quit adopting.
  4. That's like saying pull Avila down from the crucifix so we can draw and quarter him...
  5. And possibly a "Vet Cap Discount" so it counts less against the cap than the contract value...
  6. Not if they're pushing for the playoffs. They need some high-level coverage there (C & OG) both at the starter level and the backup level. Glasgow provides that.
  7. I would say after the draft. Draft a starting Guard and even if they don't take over the starting spot right away, Glasgow can start. In fact, I think Glasgow is more an Evan Brown guy than a Vatai replacement. I know Glasgow has started... but I think he can get pushed aside (it's also only a 1-year deal) when the time is right. Even if that's 2024 not 2023. So... draft a Guard, and drop Vatai, and take it from there... But if they DON'T get the guard that they want in the draft... then I think they hold onto both Vatai and Glasgow.
  8. Call up Johansson or Edvinsson and see if we get some addition by subtraction there... that'll answer that question. Although we might get both subtraction (toughness and experience) as well as addition (skill and athleticism/ speed). Although I watched a recent Griffins game and my way too uninformed conclusion is that Edvinsson will initially struggle in the NHL. I think he has to fill out some and gain some strength in his legs before he hits Seider's level up here... He's got great length and reach so he has an advantage there... and can control the puck and make the outlet passes, etc... he's doing great down in GR it looks like... but I think against NHL speed and strength he's going to suffer. And it looks like he's still trying to get acclimated, coordination-wise, to his gangly body. There is definitely high-end skill there... but he needs to add strength and better body control/ balance IMO. Just my 2 cents.
  9. If Casey is so awesome at developing players then why is Bey shooting 48% from 3 for the Hawks? Seriously, wtf? Small sample size... so I'll have to look at this in a year or so... but... Amazing.
  10. duplicate...
  11. There's no ambiguity here whatsoever. That's what galls. It's pretty fucking blatant... with Georgia, with inflating asset values for loans and deflating for taxes, with a coup attempt against the United States of America, etc., etc., etc., etc... And this mother fucker is still walking free? I mean, WTF? He's a guilt MF'er, the evidence is plain as day for ANYONE to just look at, and this Teflon Don is still not in prison. It's beyond MF'ing ENRAGING!!! And I'm being nice. That's not what I really wanna say about that contemptible scumbag MF'er.
  12. I choose anti-fascism.
  13. Bingo!!! You win the cupie doll!!!
  14. Can he cover TE's? Or RB's out in the flat or on screens? Asking for a friend...
  15. I think all of these points are correct.
  16. I think this is the relevant issue. A pattern of behavior is a problem. And would take Carter off the board, unless the team felt he would grow up quickly and not be destructive problem. A lack of commitment to the team/ football/ practice/ giving 100% all of the time, is also a problem. And would take Carter off the board, unless the team felt they could inspire him somehow. I think Carter is off their board primarily due to problem #2. Problem #1 probably clinches it. And maybe the team could even absorb a player of Carter's talent and hope they could inspire him somehow... But I don't think they want that on this team... at this point in time. Like MC's earlier post... once DC has enough cache in the NFL (a couple Supers or so...); they might be open to drafting/ challenging a Carter... I just don't think they're there yet. But what do I know? Watch them draft Carter and take their chances...
  17. Actually... that's MO for them.
  18. I'd still like to spend another high draft pick (2nd/ 3rd?) on another safety.
  19. I don't think these signings change draft strategy.
  20. First, I don't think adding Sutton, and just heard Emmanuel Mosely from the 49'ers... changes draft strategy on a CB. Talent still rules so if the right CB is available then just draft him... I looked at the way I would draft: 1.6: Wilson & Murphy were my top picks from day 1 (assumed Anderson & Carter wouldn't be there... now assumes Anderson won't and Carter has been removed from Lions board), they're still my 1st choices. Then Gonzalez (which I think would be early) because he's my #1 CB and, I have no idea if he's a Sauce Gardner or not but, I rank top CB's pretty highly in the draft and again, he's my #1. 1.18: I had Gonzalez (again, my #1 CB), then Trenton Simpson (I love his coverage ability as a LB'er on TE's... we suck there and have sucked there for so long...). I don't think Glenn values LB's as much so c'est la vie. A secondary CB like Weatherspoon or Cam Smith if Porter & Gonzalez are gone. And then maybe Bijan Robinson because he's dominant and who knows when a good RB gets selected nowadays? 2nd and 3rd Rounds: I like a lot of the same guys you do... Antonio Johnson (DB), O'Cyrus Torrence (OG), Cody Mauch (OG), Darnell Washington (TE), Daiyan Henley (LB), and ... (you listed a lot of guys I don't think make it to our 2nd round picks, and a few that I have other preferences over...) and there are a boatload of others I like (Safeties like Jordan Battle), I like Charbonnet at RB, Adetomiwa Adebewore at DE/DT (3-tech), Hendon Hooker at QB, lots of O-Lineman and we just need to add one...). I think 2nd/3rd you can add both need plus BPA whereas 1st it's closer to straight up BPA.
  21. I wouldn't know since I don't go looking for pics like that... But since you posted that vid... I have to say, those are some very lovely ladies. Just as, if not more, beautiful on the inside that they are willing to take up arms in defense of their country against aggression and tyranny. I would think that that vid is also... somewhat effective as a recruiting tool. Ukrainian guys I know are signing up to defend their country. That vid I think could only help (courage, defend your family/ country/ wife and children... etc.).
  22. I was thinking of something different...
  23. I think the key issue for me is that Holmes does NOT ignore LB'er the 1st (3) rounds but, instead, drafts someone who can eventually be a starter. He needs to do it. We need the (quality) depth. We need a coverage LB'er who can actually cover TE's and such since we absolutely suck there (with no evidence... just off the top of my head...) No. Holmes can NOT ignore the LB'er position. In fact, I'm going to go waaaay out on a limb and say that he drafts one in the 1st (3) rounds of the 2023 NFL Draft. (I want to be specific so that there are no misinterpretations...).
