  1. No I saw the 90's pictures of Carroll and she actually was a looker. I think it would be easy for TFG to get confused based on that alone.... He's guilty.
  2. Avila was on the crapper in the 9th round... Boras walked into the john and said "Avila, you in here?" "Yeah" "You're drafting Tarik Skubal." "OK?" "I'll let your guys know who they are going to draft. Your pick is coming up shortly." "Is he any good? Who is he?" "Al, you're good to go. Don't worry about it"
  3. Set-it and forget-it is fine if you have the right management team in place...
  4. Might as well start the discussion: If AG receives and takes an NFL Head Coaching job, who does Campbell replace him with? Which internal candidate? Which external candidate?
  5. I would look to Myles Murphy, Bresee, or Tyree Wilson, in that order (IMO).
  6. So the next questions are: 1) How much of the future is Goff? 10 years, when he'll be 39? For at least the next 2 years (his current contract) and then re-evaluate? Because.. if he's more than two years then it will take an extension to get him past 2 years. 2) Is he worth an additional 5 years (total of 7 to bring him to age 36...) at $200 mill, at least $150 mill guaranteed (current approximate going rate...)? 3) If Goff goes down for 6 weeks in mid-December next year, how does the rest of the year play out? (I'm talking specifically playoff games). I get that a better backup could be signed than Sudfeld... but a draft pick is also a valid option. I think it's completely asinine to rule out drafting a QB, in any round. I have no qualms about drafting a QB, whenever that may be, in whatever round. The one and ONLY issue in my mind is can the GM properly identify the right QB that can be developed by the current coaching staff. That's it. And Holmes wins in my mind. Over ANYTHING that ANY internet warrior in here has to say.
  7. We'll just have to see about that...
  8. Even if they fall to the 2nd or 3rd round.
  9. I still would have looked at him as a 1-year stopgap, regardless. So I don't think that will really be on any fans, especially casual fans, radar... IMO: His worth if he has a real nice comeback season was still (to the Tigers) to be a trade deadline candidate.
  10. Criscuolo is 30 so there's nothing but upside here... even if Jasper never does all that much... Although he already has more NHL games (50) than Criscuolo's 15... I'm not certain what the Shark's angle is here...
  11. He's a big guy at 6' 4" 225 #'s... I'm assuming he's a grind-liner type? Don't know if he has any offensive upside or his level of toughness...
  12. The biggest issue will be (IMO): How is his defense?
  13. Or... He just really loves being a part of this Lions team and wants to be a part of their future success. For now.
  14. I think Goff does need a strong support system. But I think every QB needs a support system because it's a team game and no QB, no matter how good he is, can carry a garbage team forward with any success. Goff lost all his offensive support with the Rams and did not look good. But he's more than a game manager. As MB points out, he is NOT Dilfer or Grossman. He's better than that. He just is. He's not quite Stafford (arm, creativity and creativity in the face of a tough defense); although he may end up with very comparable stats... But he's a helluva lot better than just a game manager. He did need some kind of support system to get back on track. And I would say that, in Detroit, he has... SOME kind of a support system...! 😉
  15. +1 That's where I'm at exactly.
  16. This is what I was thinking. He should have interviewed just for the experience and, as you say, possible connections for further down the road...
  17. Since they rotate to keep their D-Lineman fresh... Even if they drafted Jalen Carter I think Levi would still have a prominent role... if he can stay healthy that is...
  18. Houston is 6' 1" 240#. I don't want him as a starter at DE. He'll get worn out defending the run and have nothing left as a pass-rusher. He's actually listed as a LB'er for now which I think is correct.
  19. That's why I say: If not Jalen Carter than Myles Murphy!!!
  20. PS: I missed an obvious one: Defended Kuwait against Iraqi imperialism (successfully).
  21. Two things: 1) That's why I said "nearly". It's in your quote of my post... 2) I believe Taiwan already has some American air defense systems. I haven't been following this aspect closely... but I don't believe they are starting from scratch. They may need more... but they're not starting from zero. One more thing: I want ATACMS in Ukraine. Like... yesterday.
  22. From where I'm sitting, it looks like a: BS in Life.
  23. I'm already thinking of the deadline and if Stevie can somehow pull a rabbit out of his hat...
  24. And I probably missed quite a few but those were the most notable I believe...
