  1. All I can say is... I'm glad Holmes is making these decisions and not Motown Bombers. You've locked onto Goff to the exclusion of making any other necessary decisions that benefit the Lions. Wait, you're not his dad, are you?
  2. Spring Training so... Not stressed or anything, but... TORK! is still running a string of 0'ers so... At the very least I'm annoyed that he hasn't gotten off the frickin' schneid and started plastering the ball yet. Get OFF the Schneid Tork!!! (That's my 2023 motto... Get Off the Frickin' Schneid Tork!!!).
  3. Oh... He won the Super Bowl for the Lions in 2022? Or even a playoff game with the Lions? I didn't catch that...
  4. I really don't like Richardson's 54% completion percentage. It might not be al his fault. But I don't trust him and I don't want to draft him, especially at #6 or #18. If he falls to the 2nd and Holmes thinks "he's the guy"... well, I guess I'll get behind it. But I just don't see him for the Lions.
  5. If it's elsewhere, that means... We've traded him to the Panthers for (3) 1sts, a 2nd 3rd and 4th. If Holmes/ Campbell feel they need to do that... I will trust them. That also means that... Hendon Hooker will be our 2024 starter. 😉 😁
  6. If he gets a big contract offer from the Lions, it should be after the 2023 season... IMO.
  7. PS: I'm on record as NOT wanting Richardson in the 1st but rather, Hooker in the 2nd or 3rd... wherever the Lions can land him. Just to be on record here...
  8. Stafford was with the Lions with 12 years where they were nothing much more than stumblebums. He's nearing the end of his career (most likely); and the Lions were just starting ANOTHER rebuild from scratch. Can you see the reasoning in asking for a trade? Goff has recovered perceptions of him from leaving the Rams with a bad taste in a lot of peoples' mouths, whether that was his fault or not. This Lions team looks like it's on the upswing and could become a dangerous playoff/ SB contender for the next 5-ish years +/-, and Goff is a huge part of that. Regardless of whatever other QB moves they make BEHIND him. Quit telling us what YOU would do. Goff is looking at making a run to the playoffs with the Lions. And trusts Holmes/ Campbell implicitly (I don't know that, but I believe he has intimated that and they've been heavily pro-Goff-Positive in ALL of their public communications about him...). What would HE do, regardless of how they BACKFILL the backup QB spot(s)?
  9. The best way for him to prove he deserves a long-term contract, from anyone... Is to prove it, with the Lions, in 2023.
  10. If Carolina wants to offer (3) 1sts starting in 2024, plus a 2024 2nd/ 3rd/ and 4th round picks for Goff... Hmmm....
  11. In other words: You're advocating for Goff to be a little bitch. I don't think he acts the way you want him to act. But that's just me...
  12. Why? If it's Anthony Richardson (I hope the Lions do NOT draft him...): He won't be ready to start for at least two years... And Goff is the starter for the next two years... So I see ZERO issue here...
  13. I still have Wilson/ Murphy ahead of the CB's... If they talk the Panthers into a pick swap, I would say yes at #9. If they remain at #6... I don't know what the Lions are thinking so... 50/50 they take one of Wilson/ Murphy whichever one falls OR they go after their top-ranked CB...? Just a guess.
  14. Not to throw gunpowder onto the grill... But if we drafted Scoot... Wouldn't we run into the same situation? How many balls would Cade-Scoot-Ivey need? Does Ivey or Cade get pushed to the bench? Killian should stay there and he could direct the bench with 1 ball = happy camper... But what if our best starting alignment is Scoot/PG-Ivey/SG-Cade/SF? Just asking for a friend...
  15. Interesting... Let's see what he can do at Grand Rapids...
  16. They could still do both. Hooker would learn/ rehab for a year. A good veteran backup QB would be a smart thing to do. As well as drafting Hooker, IMO.
  17. PS: So your answer is... Luck? ... in avoiding the injury bug...? Great response.
  18. If Holmes drafts Hooker... I guess you will be proven otherwise.
  19. It's called going to the Super Bowl. You don't go to the Super Bowl if you have NOTHING behind your starting QB and he gets nicked for a few weeks or in the playoffs. It's the same reason we need to draft at least a backup RB behind Williams/ Swift... Those guys are AWESOME!!! "Why do we need a backup RB behind those two awesome guys?" "Can you guarantee that Swift will be healthy for the playoffs next year?" "No." That's why.
  20. Don't give a shit. Height of his prime athletic years, and good for another 5-6 years or so. PERFECT as a backup to Goff. Couldn't get any better than that. Which is why I want the Panthers to panic and give us extra 2nds and 3rds... And we can use one of them (or ours) on Hooker.
  21. That allows them to avoid responsibility since they are Republicans, not a Republic. I understand what you are saying/ getting at... they do seem to want to live in a banana republic instead of a democracy... But for full culpability... it has to be: Banana Republican Party
  22. I want Hendon Hooker in the 2nd round.
  23. PS: The Seahawks are also talking heavily about a QB with their #5 pick. A rare opportunity for them as they haven't picked top 10 in around 10 years or so (I didn't verify... just reading the article...). Everyone is assuming they'll select defense. But if they grab, say Anthony Richardson as the perfect guy to sit behind Geno Smith for two years learning, before he takes over the helm... That bodes particularly well for the Lions. EITHER a top D'lineman drops to us in Anderson or Carter, as well as Murphy and/or Wilson... and Holmes can pick whoever he wants... OR: In a desperate move to grab the last 1st-round/ franchise-level QB on the board (and leapfrog the Raiders looking to do the same), the Panthers trade us the #9, this year's 2nd and 3rd, and next year's 2nd round picks... 😁😁😁
