I want to see some progress from this team/ multiple players... for the balance of this season. Don't care about the wins/ losses... just want to see some serious progress. And that definitely includes Baez.

On the position side, we need a couple more guys, like say Keith, Wenceel, and Dingler... to make it at the MLB level. And they're another 2 years or so away... maybe September 2023...? We need Greene to get healthy, and Tork to get better. Personally, I see hope for this team. Even as soon as the rest of this year. But the roller coaster ride seems a lot more up and down then I thought before this season started...

Faedo, Manning, Turnbull... Plus maybe Brieske and/or Wentz if they get better at the MLB level. And we still have Skubal and E-Rod. We still have a rotation for 2023, and even the balance of this year if they could get, and stay, healthy.

Ever been at the UMass-Amherst location? My best buddy has a PHD in Accounting and teaches at Amherst. Actually, I think he does more research and papers than teaching but... He got his PHD at Amherst and then started teaching at Drexel in Philly. Moved back to teaching at Amherst a dozen years ago or so...

So another two weeks plus or minus is how I read that... (I haven't read the article yet, going to now... I meant just reading tea leaves...).

I still consider this team a 1979/1980 team, not a 1983/1984 team. There are still a lot of prospects on their way up and we still have some team-building to do....

Yeah... I think I'm going to disagree with this. I think they are, what is commonly known as... Rookies. Or still close enough to it that they are trying to find their way in MLB. If you're saying they're not MLB starters, today... I might agree with that. But I think they deserve reps to find out. And they haven't had enough to say one way or another, IMO. But they do appear to have MLB-level skills. And this is who you're going to bring up? Reyes? What is he going to show us that he hasn't already for the past 5 years? Somehow he is more deserving than Hill or Cameron? Agree to disagree on this one... I don't need to see anything more from him. I'd rather see Hill or Cameron squarely planted in CF to see if one or the other just might pop. Because Reyes... ain't. These two I am on board with. But it's also simple to me, and Reyes is not a part of the future except as a 5th OF'er at best. Nothing more. I could care less whether he gets any additional PA's this year. In fact, I'd rather see them move on from Reyes. And see more of Baddoo. And have Hill or Cameron play platoon with Baddoo, play D and pinch runner, get starts in CF... etc. Just my preference.

As I was reading your post above this I was going to throw out a post of my own suggesting... Just exactly what you said here. Headline News for 30 minutes. And focused (topical) 30 minute segments for at least a couple hours on: Ukraine, gun control issues, Supreme Court, education, China, etc... whatever are the most interesting topics of the week... But focused for that 1/2 hour on one subject only.

Tenacious D Projection: MLB OF: Grossman, Meadows, Greene and Reyes Toledo: Baddoo, Cameron, Hill and Robson This makes me want to: 1) Promote Carpenter to Toledo 2) Drop Willi to Erie and let him play OF/ IF down there, every day. 3) Keep one of Daz or Hill with Detroit. 4) Dropping the other guy down to Toledo to pair up with Baddoo and Carpenter. Just my 2 cents.

You know Yzerman is absolutely going to do this... I think this is the main issue... After the top 3 guys I believe the scouts are saying not much difference in talent level for the next 10-12 guys, no one stands out, or is head-and-shoulders above, and therefore... We get mocked the highest rated center available. Personally, I'd be happy with Savoie or Kasper...

I've seen the top two choices in our mocks as either Kasper or Savoie. I guess we want a #2 Center for some reason...?

I remember those. But... aside from BABIP... I think his biggest problem was that he had a crappy fastball. A devastating slider... but as soon as batters learned to lay off his slider and wait for his meatball fastball... they feasted. And his BABIP (.250-ish?) went the opposite way (.350-ish?) from then on. There was no regression to the mean. He just sucked. And to me, it was less a BABIP issue and a whole lot more "crappy FB" issue. A 1-pitch pitcher.

As long as Severodonetsk is not encircled, Ukraine will still be able to hold onto, resupply, and fight back there. It won't be the same as Mariupol (as long as Ukraine holds the Donetsk River) even if the Russians flatten it. Which I think they've already basically done. The Russians can't seem to get across any contested river without Ukraine completely demolishing their multiple attempt(s), so, that may be as far as Russia can go in the Donbas... halfway into Severodonetsk.
