If we're going to actually be a draft and development team, which I think every one of us in here, and hopefully in the Tigers Org, top-to-bottom, wants, then... We're drafting both pitchers and position players. There may be a preference for position players in the 1st and pitchers outside the 1st... or vice verse... But, it doesn't matter. If we only select pitchers in the 1st; we still have to develop more than just 1st rounders, which includes a couple position players outside the 1st. And if we are SUPPOSED to be a D&D team, them we HAVE to be able to do that. So I'll go back to my BPA mantra for the 1st, and not care so much (I AM weighted more towards position players but am flexible enough for either) whether it is position versus pitcher. By the same token, if we draft only position players in the 1st, we STILL have to be able to develop a couple pitchers outside the 1st... which we appear to be capable of doing. I think we can do the same with position players (develop some outside of 1st rounders...); but those guys are still percolating up through the minors so we haven't seen the MLB results of that yet... Just my 2 cents.

We actually signed Wilmer Flores and some other undrafted pitchers after the short 5-round draft that year. So technically, in the draft, yes; but effectively, no.
-
So lets draft ZERO pitchers and have minor league teams with no pitchers at all, just hitters. That could be interesting, right?
-
He shouldn't have said that for the Tigers and I hope he doesn't for the Wings. What he should have said is: "When we make the playoffs, the rebuild is over. Until then, we're still working on putting the right team together to achieve that."

I think what I just said; in addition to what MCS just said...
-
That... and he wants rookies to push vets out the door, rather than default into a position 'cause we got nothing there... definitely on board with that.

Needed a R-shot (Perron) forward, as well. If Edvinsson makes Detroit that would be Seider-Edvinsson. But Hronek needs a serious defensive D'Man for help as well. I don't know about this year... but in the next 2-3 years there's going to be some serious shuffling of our blueliners. Out of our existing corps... I see only Seider as in a safe position...

We're getting some mixed signals, not definitive higher inflation signals so... I don't see a reason to jump to 100 when we just did 75 last month. I was wondering if they would do a 50 basis hike which - maybe - but I think I would prefer to go conservative this month with 75 and then September/ next meeting re-appraise the situation...
-
I could see our Fed popping another 75 basis in their July meeting...

Clean sweep. Sweep them all outta their jobs and start afresh...

Even though he had a bad game tonight... Jimenez still looks "Fixed by Fetters" TM

I like Braxton Key... and Duren has a lot to learn (it's easy to see)... and maybe Boeheim will be useful/ able to contribute... But... This is definitely the KC-Team on the floor tonight... (Keystone Cops).

He's Teflon Donald until I see him in a prison uniform. I know you want to say otherwise, and in theory, I agree with you 100%. Absolutely. I just want to... see it before I believe it.

Brieske not pitching so well... Our MIGHTY MIGHTY OFFENSE will need to come to the rescue tonight... (Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!) ... ... Get the joke?

"The Teflon Donald". That's my new nickname for TFG.
-
I did a quick wikipedia just to figure out your reference. He gets killed at the end? I still don't see the reference. Everyone gets their comeuppance? So Trump is soon to be killed? Dude... If you want to pop-ref... How about "The Teflon Don"? SOOOO much more appropriate...!
-
That is nothing about nothing. Didn't watch the Wire so I ain't gonna talk about it. Except: WTF does that have to do with Trump avoiding prison time for 40 years?
-
But this is not a criminal case.
-
Reality says otherwise.
-
Yeah... But how many felonies does that make for Trump? 1,000? And how many convictions? 0?
-
All of them Benedict Arnold MF'ing Traitors to the Constitution of the United States.

Glad our team already took care of that...

This what started that conjecture: EDIT: Somehow the translation didn't carry over but it's in Romad's post. Basically: "Every time things aren't going well, Eduardo gets an "injury". After reading this... I thought "He gets a "fake injury" every time things aren't going well?" And: "Is that what he's doing right now? Incommunicado. No real injury... does he just not love the game anymore?" It's simple conjecture... But no communication from him or his agent? Could be anything. Even this.

There are several athletes that have walked away in their 20's. I think that's mostly football. But hasn't there been a couple baseball instances too (outside of the almost-Greinke)? (Without actually looking it up...). Or maybe that's mostly in the minors when a guy realizes he isn't going to make MLB... Maybe E-Rod decided he just doesn't love baseball any more? He was already doing this a bit in Boston, previously?

No. It's not Biden must try. It's WE MUST try... harder. I don't just mean a few of us here on MTS. I mean in general, Dems need to work harder to get the vote out/ to get the education out to their voters that every vote is important. It's an almost impossible task, I know, given the construct of the party... But when motivated... Dems win by 81MM to 73MM. But they need to win the local and state battles, for Senator, Governor, State and Federal Reps, etc... You can't blame Biden for not doing anything when he IS pushing to get things done... but the Senate blocks him. No, the answer to that is to get more Dem Senators. This is the long game. And Dems need to get more serious about playing it. That, or we get Republican leadership that represents less than 40% of the country with a backwards 18th century vision running the show and invasively telling everyone in the country how to live our lives. To their specifications.
