I don't think we have to trade talent or try to get top draft picks... That doesn't matter. Even if we're trading DeKeyser for a 7th rounder because someone needs "insurance" for the playoffs we're still removing dead weight. And if that's all Yzerman can do I don't think anyone will complain. Besides... if Hronek gets traded for "something"... isn't this forum "on board" with that? Personally, I want to give Hronek more time before making that decision. But moving any of DeKeyser, Staal, Greiss, Nametnikov or Gagner for a late round pick because someone wants playoff depth wouldn't bother me at all. They are all expiring contracts. Out with the old, in with the new. If we get offered a 4th for Leddy, also an expiring... I'd at least think about that too...

Well the draft would override everything. "Tough, you're drafted, you're going to do what you're told, period." That's why they get 17 vaccinations. But also.. I wasn't talking necessarily about the choice to join or not join but, rather, the "big brother" sentiment. I don't agree with it. Is the military "shady" by requiring 17 vaccinations? I don't believe so, it's a condition of employment. Are drug tests "shady"? They are required by numerous business and governmental organizations as a condition of employment. If it were the Bubonic Plague that was the pandemic and a vaccination was required as a condition of employment, is that "shady"? I don't disagree with you that there are those who will "feel" that way but... in the immortal words of MAGA: "Fuck their feelings".

You can be smart and still have a "moment of stupidity". I agree with G2... just because a person is smart doesn't mean that they can't do something stupid. Like not getting vaxxed during a pandemic.

D) Low birth rate = no population growth = no economic stimulus through population growth. Also, there is still brain-drain and Hot-Russian-girl drain as people leave to get away from Putin's fascist kleptocracy in the hope of a better life somewhere else... E) The over-reliance on petrol. They are a petro-state with oil and gas swiftly falling out of favor. Almost like being a coal miner in West Virginia. They are an economy the size of Italy and will be shrinking, and surpassed, by multiple other Western and SE Asian Democracies/ economies in short order...

The military. I mean, we do all agree that the military is funded by, and ultimately controlled by our government/ civilian leadership, right? How about a Post Office/ postal service for everyone that for the most part, delivers all our mail. How about NASA... because space is just... so cool. How about our local Police & Fire Departments, which are not private businesses but are run by... the local government. When someone says they "hate government, or our government" or something like that... the very first thing that pops out of my mouth is "Oh, so you HATE our military, right?" They change their story immediately. Every single time.

Well... I guess we'll see what Bol Bol can, or cannot do, with some playing time... Although I don't see a whole lot of that here... maybe mostly G-League time?

That is "technically" my first Lions memory... But in 1976 I went to see a charity game between my uncle's team (he was 8 years older than me and I don't remember if this was a college game or... whatever...) and a bunch of Lions. I have the game program signed by all the Lions that played that night. A bunch of names I don't remember at all... no stars that I can see... But I don't really remember that at all... Even though I think I was 12 at the time... My real first memory was the Lions drafting Billy Sims.

This game is being played tonight I believe, at 8 PM? Or was tonight's game already scheduled anyways...? (Too lazy, or busy, to look that up at the moment...).

??? On the Red Wings side I think I've always been sitting in the Reality Room... At least I don't remember touting them as Championship Ready or anything like that... IIRC... I keep saying that they need more talent, better defenseman, better puck control, more offense, more young players coming up, etc... I don't think I've said anything yet that they're ready for a playoff run just yet. They still need an effective 2nd line, which they don't have. And I think I've said that a few times this year... Haven't even spoken of getting an effective 3rd line because they don't even have an effective 2nd one yet... And they need to stop hanging Ned out to dry... which goes back to better defenseman, puck control, more young kids... etc. I think they are getting better, and should be able to challenge for the playoffs next year but... yeah, they ain't ready for prime time just yet...

Yes. He set up the logistics end only. Nothing more. He gets no credit whatsoever for the expedited vaccine, which was a private industry accomplishment. He gets credit for setting up the infrastructure to rapidly disperse the vaccine(s) once approved, out to the public. Nothing more.
