I have a passion for reading history, heavily in European histories... And I have a 30 year personal history... Including neighbors and friends and... Plus, my ex-wife is Russian and Ukrainian (that's the 30 years part). I probably have somewhat of a unique viewpoint in here...

Maybe I have a cheat, since I live in the midst of large Russian and Ukrainian populations in the greater NYC area, and count many friends... But I knew Ukraine was ready to fight... every man, woman, and child in Ukraine (within reason), against Russian aggression. The Ukrainians are still enraged over 2014. Note also: Not joking about Ukrainian women. They currently make up approximately 17-20% of armed forces fighting against Russia. That's counting resistance fighters, not just regular armed forces, or support forces. And this was never a legitimate thing in Ukraine. Like I said, almost to a man/ woman/ child... they are 99.9% against any Russian incursion. Russian or Ukrainian speaking... doesn't matter.

Like SNL? The problem with US politics today is not trivialization. It's the F.U. politics as generated/ practiced by the Tea Party Republicans, white trash bigots, Trump and his fascist followers; preceded/ inspired by Limbaugh/ Buchanan/ Gingrich and the like. The American proletariat have always had a simple-minded understanding of politics. The trivialization is self-inflicted and ever-present. Not requiring Maher or SNL's influence. It's just there... like the WWE, monster trucks, and Nascar.

I don't follow or watch him much. Pretty close to nil... but I do tune in now and again. I don't mind his humor for the most part. His complaints on the Democrats are not wrong. Or at least the ones I've heard.

Why don't they pick them up and landmine the Ukrainian/ Russian/ Byelerussian borders? I mean, when they can. They're repurposing every other Russian military piece of equipment that they can get their hands on... They should have asked for 1,000,000 land mines prior to the invasion and put 10K at every road leading in to Ukraine... including from Crimea... Just a thought...

This is my thinking. By mid-season, you can evaluate who is making it or not cutting it, who is having a bad season, injuries, etc... and make adjusting trades to fill in the most necessary holes. You believe you have identified a major weakness, at the moment... but I want to see the season develop before making those decisions. What looks to you like a major weakness at the moment may be secondary or tertiary by mid-season. I'll wait until then before thinking about what we need to obtain as additional help in chasing after the playoffs...
