But G2 said a lot of what I wanted to say.
I would agree with sloth that Ras has the looks of a 3rd-line defensive center. But... I think he can also be a playmaker as well. Yeah, he's not as good around the net as he should be, and isn't physical, or doesn't know how to use his physical advantage...
But to G2's point... he should at least be strong on the puck and a strong possession player... which we haven't seen that much of from him.
Sloth says Ras is still quite stiff even with skating improvements and I have to agree. At least from what I've seen. In order to make the jump from point A (defensive center) to point B (defensive center that can control the puck/ possession, and be a dangerous offensive playmaker)... He needs to get stronger/ better balance on his skates, not get knocked off the puck, and improve his puck control/ stick handling abilities. I see him get knocked off the puck too often, or the puck is taken away from him when he had "control" of it on his stick, despite his size and "improved skating".
I don't know if he can get there.
But I would like to think he can.
