I wasn't a hard-coded Correa or Bust. I also stated that around here a few times. I wanted Correa because he was the best player. And Baez the least because as a wild swinger I think that will cause serious problems, in the near future. But I also said if we signed him, or anyone "Not-Correa", I'd get on board and get behind that player. Even Baez. It was a soft (not completely serious) Correa or Bust... But now our best outcome is for Hinch to convince Baez to not swing at everything/ anything... For Baez... that means replicating what he did with the Mets, and improving upon that if Hinch etal can get him to do that...
-
Teach Baez to have a lot more patience and a much better discerning eye and we may have a "Correa Equivalent" anyways. Like he did with the Mets in a SSS.

Who were already barefoot anyways so "Shoeless" caught their attention...

That's why we opted out of a weekend like July 4th as that would indeed be a monstrous mess... we'll see about a later weekend... although July in the cool mountains might be a must see anyways... We'll see about that first part... My stamina at the moment is a little less than zero... We'll see how my older aunts & uncles and Mom and Dad fare... My Mom has had foot, knee, back and hip surgeries so I don't think she'll have an easy time negotiating a lot of hills...

We're going to have a family reunion in the Smoky Mountains, Tennessee last week in July. We haven't had a reunion in over 10 years... We're a bit of a Michigander Diaspora. Searching for jobs and we ended up in: Florida, California, Texas, Colorado, Michigan, New Jersey, Tennessee, England (my sister has lived outside of London for over 25 years...), maybe some other states with the great grandkids but I've lost track. Tennessee is roughly in the middle for everyone. Between Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and kids... I think we have roughly 100 coming in... Grandma & Grandpa had 9 kids which got us off to a nice little start on that...

Oh how I want to see arrests of some of these Congressman while they are IN SESSION: "Jim Jordan, you are under arrest for Sedition against the United States of America". Handcuffed in front of the entire congress, and walked out the door...

Hah!!! Now with Kingpin? Now I gotta remember which Vigilante series he was in, and which season... And I know he made it into more than one series/ season so... Wait... wasn't Vera Farmiga his love interest in his main vigilante series? Funny, at the start of this episode, just as Jack Duquesne was getting arrested I thought "OH, her mom is going to go bad...". I blazed through the different vigilante series and was ok with some of it but... it didn't sink in like the rest of the MCU...

That doesn't bother me either. It's a rebuild. We are going to suck. Goff plays perfectly into that anyways...

I thought Barry actually did demand a trade and the Lions refused to consider it. And I think players had less power then so he was stuck with the Lions or he could retire. If my faulty memory serves...

Having a historical attachment does not mean that Putin OWNS Ukraine. Russia does not OWN Ukraine, in fact, Stalin BRUTALIZED Ukraine because of their independent farmers refusal to join in with Stalin's "collectives". Which directly led to their deaths, as well as a resulting "collective" famine that wiped out 10-12 million Ukrainians IIRC... Putin definitely has an emotional attachment to Ukraine, because of the historical connections (Kiev as the birthplace of the Rus (who everyone knows... were Swedish Vikings)), but Ukraine still has the right to self-determination. And they have decided that they prefer the European Unions capitalistic economy versus Putin's kleptocracy/ dictatorship... and have also decided that they are safer under NATO's brotherhood of like-minded democracies rather than under Russia's/ Putin's KGB/ Mafia/ Police State. Putin did after all steal Crimea from them as well as southeastern Ukraine's two provinces of Donetsk & Lugansk. FYI in case anyone cares...

I hope he didn't get singed too badly with that...

The Russians paid a heavy price when they tried to break out of the Donbass to grab Mariupol (in an attempt to start/ establish a land route from Russia/ Donbass to Crimea... along the coast...). They might be able to overwhelm the Ukrainians with numbers and technology (tanks, etc...), let's say to again attempt to establish the land corridor to Crimea... or to take all Ukraine East of the Dnieper River (essentially the same thing, but with more northern Ukrainian land and cities and industry/ resources...); but they would pay a nasty, nasty, nasty price. Ukraine is much more well-armed and trained this time... especially with anti-tank weaponry. No.. I think this is just posturing. NATO is talking about adding Ukraine. Putin is having a conniption fit. This is the result. Which... I don't think ends up in actual war but... Putin will do whatever he can to discourage Ukraine from entering NATO; which is why he keeps insisting that he gets guarantees that Ukraine is never allowed into NATO before he will back down... even if it ends up with some nasty skirmishes, or worse. This is the ENTIRE CRUX of the current situation.

The flipside is that it's not as hard to replace a RT as it is a LT. And we've already seen Sewell at LT so we're not worried about swapping him back over there. For an overpay (we're not getting the #3 pick for Decker T&P, dream on...), say a late 1st and another pick... I could do that for Decker. You can draft a top-3 round RT and make a go of it. We're really relying on our current admin to make the correct draft picks though. We're relying less on a trade/ no-trade of Decker than on this admin really being able to identify and draft talent...

Hah! I thought you were leading us into a "maybe they will win this game" comment as I'm reading along your post... I should have known!!! 😉 -
I'm interested in seeing what they make of Shai Buim. Supposed to be very raw, but highly talented/ athletic/ and Seider-sized IIRC... and they used a 2nd on him, so... We'll see what happens. He looked really good in that video. Good skating, mobility, creative, and nice shot...

On all counts.

Correct.

The other thing that's hilarious about this is: I've espoused a hatred for Nazism and Fascism and somehow you want to make that out as if that were something bad. That's all I need to know about your jaundiced view of the world.

Who committed treason against the Constitution of the United States. An attempted coup. I'm fine with running my mouth exactly as I have been. Not one iota of difference.

It's in the Constitution of the United States. Look it up.

So he watches Sean Hannity and Tucker Carlson, and gets his news at the barbershop. Regurgitating Sean Hannity and Tucker Carlson. Sounds about right for our resident Archie Bunker.

Thought I had taught my daughter pretty well about all kinds of driving... parallel parking, who has the right of way in each instance of 2-3-4-way Stop Signs, left hand turning, crossing a road or a lane when coming out of a parking lot, etc. Including how to handle traffic circles. She didn't get her license until October (long time coming)... Afterwards... we ran into a few traffic circles... And she's swapping lanes IN THE MIDDLE of the traffic circle! Give me a freaking heart attack! First time I explained she has to stay in her lane in a circle because it's harder to see cars in blind spots, or jumping into the circle and, it very well could cause an accident. Did she not remember the instructions that I gave her? We were lucky there was no traffic right next to us because she didn't even look. I thought I impressed upon her the importance of not changing lanes in the middle of a circle. Second time she swapped from inside lane to outside lane RIGHT IN FRONT of oncoming entrance/ traffic lane... My eyes are bugging out as I'm looking at the line of cars ready to enter the circle, hoping they don't jump into the circle in THEIR lane just as my daughter is swapping into THEIR LANE and... WHEW! They didn't make a move. But they are 18" right in front of my face as I'm looking out the passenger window, passing them by. STILL ALIVE at this point! But I read her the riot act and said please don't get us killed. And by riot act, I was calm and, not too loud... but firm and with shaky voice told her what she did was extremely dangerous. The THIRD TIME was when we approached a circle, she stopped and correctly waited for her turn, there were two lanes entering with one going into the inside circle lane and the other going into the outside circle lane... and she was on the inside. So... she enters the circle... and says: "I think I prefer THIS lane" and jumps to the OUTSIDE lane AS she is entering the circle from the INSIDE lane. Another heart attack. But I calmly told her what she did. That there were two lanes entering the circle and she had to commit to one BEFORE the circle and not swap lanes like that, especially because someone very well could have been in the outside lane trying to enter the circle and she would have side-swiped them right off the road. Luckily, no one was there. But there was a LOT of explaining to her, on what to do. I had to hammer into her head how to drive a circle... And we ran into multiple circles afterwards (lots of traffic circles in this part of New Jersey), and... She remembered to stay in her lane each time.
