  1. Militant 'Merica. Locked and Loaded, like the Wild West, where EVERYONE is ready for a shootout and multiple deaths. Because... 'Merica.
  2. That was my thought... it was a little over the top. I don't mind the toughness but... yeah.
  3. Cade's triple double looks better if he's 3-8 from 3 rather than 1-8.
  4. Cade needs to make a few more of those 3's that he's taking...
  5. Stew taking on Lebron James...
  6. Pistons bench going off again. Particularly Diallo... And Frank Jackson... again.
  7. Why would he hang out there? It seems like an enticement would be in order... Catnip, anyone?
  8. Especially if you're targeting Correa as your #1 option. His agent can string all these teams along trying to get that bidding war going...
  9. I would prefer doing the opposite: No opt outs, and make the last 3 years contingent on games played. If he plays 140 game or more in year 6, or 260 games in years 5 & 6, the next year vests. If he plays less games than required, the team can buy out the last 3 years at $8mm per. So $24 Mill if the contract has become an albatross. Same conditions for each following year (and declining # of buyout years). That protects the back end of the contract against injury. The frontloading is fine... In fact, pay $35 Mill the next three years, and then decline the remaining 7. Pay less for older years. Pay less when Mize-Skubal-Manning-Tork-Greene are all under consideration for expensive contract extensions (provided they perform over the next 4 or so years as desired...). I don't want him to opt out. I want him at SS. If he slows down and gets pushed to 2B because we have some hot prospect coming up... fine by me. And if he gets injured too often... we have the last 3 years we can get out of if needed...
  10. Well... let me rephrase what I said above: 1) Correa or BUST! 2) Well, not really. If we can't get Correa, I want Story. 3) Those guys are #1 and #2 on my list. And no one else is close. But yeah, I'll take any upgrade over our current situation, even if that means Taylor, Semien, Baez, whomever.... But I'm not really happy that we couldn't land a top 2 choice for this team. Glad for the upgrade, but disappointed in the team's chair (musical chairs) that they end up with. Until that is... whomever is playing SS for us next year gets us on a real nice winning streak because of defense and some O... But really, I'd like Correa #1. And Story #2. Those are my two "I want" guys versus the other "consolation prize" guys.
  11. And both of those goals were short-handed? Yuck!
  12. Well that was a disappointing ending....
  13. That's my board too. 1) Correa 2) Story After those two... I would struggle with any other choice (happy we got a good SS but unhappy with all the peripheral/ aging/ etc... issues.) It's pretty simple for me. Correa. And if not Correa, Story.
  14. Yes, that's what I said.
  15. This. Our Democracy is under severe internal attack by the Fascist MF'ing Republican Party. They are doing everything they possibly can to toss out the Constitution of the United States and replace it with a Fascist Dictatorship.
  16. A Republican legislature in Virginia will. A Republican legislature will give itself override authority to toss out the popular election in Virginia if they don't like the results. THAT would be the END of Democracy. Your vote would no longer count in Virginia if it could just be tossed out, at will. These types of laws have already passed into law in Georgia and Texas I believe. Thankfully, Republicans ONLY took over the Virginia House and Governorship, and not also the Senate. What the above tells me is that 34% of Virginia Democrats don't give a flying fuck about our Democracy. Asswipes.
  17. Miggy comes off the books after 2023. We have an exceptionally low payroll excluding Miggy. A roster full of young kids. I don't accept the above excuse to not go after Correa, even if it costs $300 Mill. Wrong answer.
  18. PS: I wonder When/ If Berggren makes it to Detroit this year...?
  19. Need. More. Talent.
  20. One last point: our private insurance (MIDDLE MAN!!!) process is one of the most INEFFICIENT medical payment processes in the world. It's a completely asinine system.
  21. PS: If our medical system can bankrupt you, or is simply not available to a large portion of our country's citizenry... It ain't the best medical system in the world. No matter how good the actual medicine is.
  22. Maybe... how do we compare to Germany, Norway, Britain, and other elite democracies around the world? Is there data that supports your statement? Because I don't believe for one second that Germany has an inferior medical system to ours... Which is entirely why we rank last in the civilized/ first world/ democratic world... (I'm not talking ranking against developing countries...). Based completely on affordability and availability. We still have the highest population of uninsured amongst first world countries.
  23. What if a Simmons trade includes Josh Jackson... do you think about it? Killian? Can Simmons play PF?
  24. I think he can go through the same non-tender process so the team is not FORCED to give arbitration. Doesn't matter minor or MLB contract, he gets paid only per the contract and is not eligible for arbitration because of the contract.
  25. Until it mutates and kids start dying. The stupidity of MAGA is just beyond my comprehension. And that's not the actual language that I use to describe the MAGA-idiocy.
