I'm saying the team, if they really want to heal this wound, can negotiate with CJ and if they pay him $1.8M for appearances or $1.6M for appearances... I could care less. I would prefer/ I think it would be better for the team & CJ, to get this resolved. I'm not really invested in this... It's just up to the two sides to decide, or not, if they want to resolve/ negotiate/ finalize this...
-
So go tell Sheila this is unacceptable and you want everyone fired.
-
If it's 1.8M instead of 1.6M are the Lions going to go bankrupt? Does it kill them that bad?

Italy also had direct connections to Wuhan. That's why Italy...

This pisses me off as well. "Buy American" doesn't solve anything, especially our highest-in-the-world labor costs. I have an idea... how about these dunces start asking the correct question: "Where are the next high-paying jobs for blue collar workers in America." It's certainly not at Wal-Mart, McDonalds, or the coal industry. But they don't have the intelligence to look forward and see past their cultural grievances... Forget what China has taken. How about focusing on: Solar panel installation, both residentially and commercially; EV manufacturing, EV Battery system manufacturing, national roll-out of charging stations, national infrastructure, manufacturing for the public-private Space Industry, manufacturing for the Military-Industrial complex, long-needed affordable housing build-out, etc..."

I believe CJ complained that he was just getting back the bonus $$$ he had been forced to give up and was against that... It seems the simple solution would be for the two sides to negotiate and if it ends up as $1.8M or $2.4M for 3 years, or whatever, to make appearances... that the two sides could get to some type of agreement that would allow both sides to save face/ move on/ get to a comfortable safe space and: That would be better for both the Org/ CJ in an all-encompassing way...

So that currently looks like Raymond-Larkin-Bertuzzi... which has looked world-beating at times... And if Tuz or Raymond is out... that probably means shift Vrana up a line (when he becomes available) and just "make-do" on the 2nd line with Fabbri-Veleno-Zadina instead? The Red Wings: Need. More. Good. Players.
-
Specifically... If you call a TO on 3rd down, you can run TWO plays out of the TO... IE: If we don't make a 1st and it's 4th and short "run this play", and if 4th and long "run this play". If we make a 1st then "run this play". After the 3rd down, THEN you might be able to catch the D off-guard by running up to the line without a huddle and firing off a quick play...

I've gotten into purchasing the complete series of some shows just to have it on hand and available whenever I want it. (Especially if it is no longer on Netflix). One dastardly example is Star Trek Voyager, which I was just in the middle of season 3 when they cancelled it on Netflix so I bought the complete series to finish it at my convenience... I like the personal library aspect of it... and the lack of commercials. So series I never saw or only a few episodes that I never had time to follow up on: The Americans. Mad Men. Two series that I really want to see (both then & now) but never had the time... I bought the complete set and, some day, will spend the time to watch everything.

Watching the Series of Unfortunate Events from Netflix (season 2) right now. And also ready to jump into Fargo season 3...

Same here. Veleno is not a world-beater with speed, etc... but I think he could be effective between the two of them. I'm just searching for another effective line that can actually be dangerous scoring points other than Larkin's line. We've been stuck on one effective line for quite a few years. I have a hard... errr... I would be very excited to see what a Vrana-Veleno-Zadina line could do. Starting with the Zadina-Vrana chemistry... PS: And I'm perfectly fine leaving Raymond on Larkin's line...

I don't see the difference, with regards to the current admin (both coaches and Admin). I don't agree with this. IMO, regardless of the record, even if 0-17... both coaches and admin will get a couple of years to (A) fix the talent level of the team and (B) Coach them up. I watched Sundays game (as much as I could stomach) and Goff's plentiful errors shouldn't land on the coaches; Swift lining up on the line instead of off... is that coaching, or Swift making a mental error? Same with 10 men on the field: coaches, or did a player screw up? A lot of the mental errors or hitting the wrong gap, etc.: coaches, or inferior players making mistakes? And to someone else's point: Campbell feels like he has to take extra aggressive measures (all the 4th down attempts, instead of a few that should have been points (FG's) taken) due to the inferior roster. There are some mental or other coaching errors... but I think they get the same two years to fix all of those as the Admin gets to fix the roster. IMO.

When will the Lions get their first win?
1984Echoes replied to Mr.TaterSalad's topic in Detroit Lions
If the Lions win a game this year... the only game I see them having a chance at is the Thanksgiving game against the Bears, Nov. 25th. So for their 1st, and only win of the season: 11/25 Bears. Home against the Vikings is their next best chance... two losses there and I see 0-17 for the year. PS: This team is coming much more clearly into focus... obviously. -
Just kidding... I knew what you were saying... But it came out funny... Either from: Auto-edit or... extensive alcohol consumption.
-
But they're going to win 9 games this year... right?
-
Need Vrana to push Fabbri down to the 3rd line... I'd be interested in seeing a Vrana-Veleno-Zadina line... If/Whenever that could happen.
-
I hope he gets BOOED right out of the stadium.

Quit LYING about what I posted Buddha. NOWHERE did I say draft a late round QB for a big return. SHOW ME where I said that. I said IF WILLIS FALLS TO OUR LATER 1st ROUND PICK AND OUR SCOUTS BELIEVE HE COULD TURN INTO A STAR THAN DRAFT HIM. You know, sort of like LAMAR JACKSON, or STEVE WALSH, for two examples. AND IF CJ STROUD FALLS TO OUR DRAFT POSITION IN THE 2023 DRAFT AND WE THINK HE IS A FRANCHISE QB THEN DRAFT HIM. As opposed to Buddha's list, QB's scouted and developed correctly (LOL at only 1 or 2... backups have worth in the NFL too, not just franchise QB's). And I think your statement to NOT draft a later round QB is asinine: 2019 Draft (drafted round-position): 2-42 Drew Lock (just a backup) 6-178 Gardner Minshew (a damn fine backup so far. Could turn into more than that?) (BUT BUDDHA is way TOO FREAKING TERRIFIED to draft a post 1st round QB... because...) 2018 Draft (drafted round-position): 1-32 Lamar Jackson (SUPERSTAR!!!) Would you trade a couple 1sts to get him on the Lions? Yeah, I thought so... 2016 Draft (drafted round-position): 4-35 Dak Prescott (EXCELLENT STARTER) (Buddha would NOT DRAFT Dak though... because...?) 2014 Draft (drafted round-position): 1-32 Teddy Bridgewater (a decent starter, but not for a playoff-level team?) 2-36 Derek Carr (same, a good starter, but not for a playoff-level team?) 2-62 Jimmy Garrapolo (excellent backup & sometimes starter.) 5-164 AJ McCarron (backup) 2012 Draft (drafted round-position): 3-75 Russell Wilson (EXCELLENT STARTER, Championship level QB... but... Buddha would NOT DRAFT Russell... because...?) 3-88 Nick Foles (Won a Super Bowl, and SB MVP?) 4-102 Kirk Cousins (took over for RGIII and became an excellent starter.. but not a SB winner...) 2011 Draft (drafted round-position): 2-35 Andy Dalton (a fine starter, but not a SB guy) 2-36 Kaepernick (OK starter for awhile...) 2008 Draft (drafted round-position): 1-18 Joe Flacco (EXCELLENT STARTER, Championship level QB... that FELL to the 18th pick.) 2005 Draft (drafted round-position): 1-24 Aaron Rodgers (SUPERSTAR!!!) Would a team have traded a couple 1sts for get him in 2006 or 2007? Yeah, I thought so... 6-213 Derek Anderson (NOT WORTH DRAFTING... RIGHT BUDDHA?) 7-230 Matt Cassel (NOT WORTH DRAFTING... RIGHT BUDDHA?) 7-250 Ryan Fitzpatrick (NOT WORTH DRAFTING... RIGHT BUDDHA?)

If you're paying me 50 cents to go see your "crappy Lions" museum: Sure, when I'm in town... Depending on my schedule...
-
Did you mean 50 cents?

Wrong on both counts. The Cowboys drafted both Aikman and Walsh in the 1st round because Walsh was a vastly underdrafted QB prospect (they thought). NOT because they thought Aikman was terrible. And Walsh had proven NOTHING when they traded him for two 1sts and a 3rd. How about when the Redskins drafted RGIII in the 1st, and Kirk Cousins in the 4th, of the same draft... how did that work out for them? If you want to go ahead and draft QB's like the Cleveland Browns did the past 10 years, go for it. But I prefer the Cowboys or Packers models...

He would either be the Wizard's RH man or the Bad Witch's RH man. Take your pick. Probably better as Alley's RH man and they could constantly be getting into nasty spats... I'd like to see that actually...
