Yeah, I'm on board with trade deadline 2022 evaluations (of our team, position in the standings, and playoff aspirations/ needs...). I think I'd want to add one offseason FA reliever into the mix, just for the competition aspect of it (and... the more the merrier...). And if we needed at add an additional arm/ bat/ catcher at the deadline then be able to consider that avenue as well...

Right... But are we just trying to get by in 2022 (pushing for the playoffs but, certainly, not a championship-level team yet so... one get-by year shouldn't be a major problem...) and counting on some kind of decent contributions in 2023 from Rogers/ Haase/ Dingler...? Or are we going all out in 2022? If there's a decent veteran we can add in 2022 for a year or two... I'm all for that. But I think we've all looked around and have not really been impressed with our options... So can we just get-by for one more year with Greiner/ Garneau type players... just for 2022? And to acknowledge G2's point... yeah, I think both are free agent options but, I don't think it would be too difficult to get them back in 2022...

But I would still look at Rogers and Dingler as 2023 potentials, not anything for 2022... so I would want to get through a 1-year stopgap, and then let the kids battle it out to see who can take over the starting position versus getting backup time... And fill in with fallback veterans behind them in AAA and AA...

Do we have Greiner back for 2022? I could live with the devil we know for one more year. Can we stick Garneau in AAA? Fallback option #1? And maybe one more similar AAAA guy just as a fallback to get through the year...? I agree... Don't really see a need to send any money for one year when there are no really good options for that anyways...

It doesn't bother me to have Sewell on the Right side for one season... especially since he's already played several games on the Left and now knows what it will take to master the Left side. He has work to do. Next season, I agree. I think he'll do heavy work in the offseason, come prepared to take over on the Left side, and at that point Decker can be pushed over to the Right... I'm not averse to trading Decker but... (1) I think that's next season, not this season, (2) I want a damn good package for him, I am not interested in a garbage offer so either we get a 1st + other picks (4th? a 2024 or 2025 pick? Whatever... just not interested in a below market trade for a valuable asset) and... (3) There needs to be a replacement nearly as good as a Decker RT. And we've whiffed there several times. Another draft pick? Sure... But I don't want Roque or McDougle, it needs to be at least a Cherilus or Reiff or, even better, a Tyron Smith. You could add in a Larry Warford too...

I don't think there's a whole lot left to see of Goff... However... I wouldn't be opposed to an additional WR if the guy can actually (a) get open, (b) make catches and (c) stay healthy. Just to... keep this team's head above water so they don't all feel like they are drowning... A morale issue as much as a talent issue...

How about our 2nd round pick. Throw Carson Strong into that mix. Thibodeaux - WR - Willis in the 2nd... If he turns into better than a backup we can trade him for a couple 1sts and keep CJ Stroud (2023 draft) as our starter.

I was searching for years for a favorite commercial of mine, and didn't see it pop up until a couple years ago... It wasn't about the words... it was an old Volkswagon commercial from the late 90's done to the tune of "Da Da Da", by the Trio. They always had cool commercials... but this one stuck with me as one of the coolest because of the song... And since I have a love affair with the Cowboy Junkies... I loved their song being used as the anthem for (I forget... Carnival? Royal Caribbean?) all during the early 90's commercials...

The problem with that is that the Reform Party pulled in 8 mill votes in 1996. Mostly conservative Independents/ blue collar anti-trade voters... similar voters to who Trump pulled in 2016... I'm not certain how much Powell could have done against that. Even compared to Dole/ Gingrich...

Remember... He runs his business as a fascist dictatorship. Which is normal for a business owner... they make all the decisions, have all the power, get all the money, can abuse their power if they can get away with it, are willing to push legal boundaries if it means more money for themselves, are willing to screw their workers, their community/ environment/ anyone if it means more money in their pockets, will use violence if necessary (history... but not ancient history either), etc. Now... most business owners have some sense of ethics and/ or civic responsibility and don't do all of that... But yeah, Trump... No ethics, amoral, willing to use violence to remain in power (others', not his violence as he's too chicken shit to do anything like that), corrupt down to his DNA, definitely all about money and fame and popularity, but also definitely attracted to the Power of the Presidency, as well... and willing to shit all over Democracy/ Constitution of the United States to get/ stay there... He's a fascist wannabe dictator. Note the emphasis on wannabe... But he IS a fascist. No doubt in my mind whatsoever.

PS: I would have voted for him as President in 2004, if not 2000. But he just didn't want to go that route. I think if he were President in 2001-2008... we would NOT have been in Iraq, and the "war on terror" would have gone decidedly different.

No... I think he came out and straight out said that he should have judged it harder. I think he called it the biggest mistake of his career. I mean, obviously that. Definitely he was lied to, misled, and pushed hard to get in line with the rest of the admin... Could even call it strong-armed... But his moment of weakness was that he didn't dig harder into the intel, which definitely had weaknesses, and question things harder that he knew his judgement was asking him to do. Then he fell into line... Maybe you wouldn't call it a moment of weakness... but I think he went against his better judgement, even though he was lied to/ misled/ strong-armed which... I think I'm OK with calling that a moment...

At this point... I would definitely rather wait for 2023 to pull the trigger on a QB...

He was pressured to do so. That doesn't absolve him... but I place the burden on those who did the pressuring; and also on his moment of weakness. That moment was beyond costly. Similarly, Pence was under duress to overthrow our Democracy by Trump. Glad he didn't also have a moment of weakness.

Not unless it's an overpay... Which I wouldn't discount...
