I also think Sabre discounting Greene is a mistake. We shouldn't rely on him for anything? Don't put anything on his shoulders? Wrong answer. Greene will have a big year for Detroit. A rookie year, with mistakes and dry spells and all... But there is no reason whatsoever to invest in a FA OF'er this offseason. And... I don't think everything gets done in one off-season anyways. So I don't see getting an OF'er this off-season, I don't see getting two high level SP's this year. I DO see getting a high end RP this year. Probably one. And the best SS and best SP that Ilitch/ Avila are willing to buy. And a stopgap C. And some back-end 6th starter types on cheap deals. And that's it. And I still expect 85-90 wins for this team.

Yes to Faedo, no on the other two (need to keep some starter candidates in the system for 6th/7th starter types)... but there could be other converts that they could turn to or, hopefully, an Erie or WM arm or two steps up... But I still want at least one quality RP arm added by way of FA because I think (a) all avenues should be pursued and (b) the more the merrier.

Quite a few probably think he's a late-model flash-in-the-pan, or that he'll be expensive. I don't think either. I don't think he'll get any big offers. And I think he added a pitch, which, doesn't make me think that he's a #5 starter for a team, but that he should be a #6 and use him in an emergency. I might not win on that, he might get himself a really decent contract... but I'll believe it when I see it. I'm OK with him as 6th starter...
