Anthony Volpe is their better (#1 prospect) SS prospect but he's at least a couple years away and I don't think there's any chance we can wrangle him away from the Yankees.

PS: Peraza 2021: A+/ AA/ AAA - .297 BA, .834 OPS (18 HR's), 38 SB's, 10 CS's, 111-37 K-BB ratio in 511 PA's (could be better, but not terrible). There could be a competition between Peraza and Kreidler with the loser going either to the bench, or AAA.

It's not a serious "or bust." More like a conversational piece. I could probably say I'm more "hell bent for Correa" than anything else. I'd like the Tigers to make a "full-court press" for him... To use a couple metaphors... But yeah... obviously we'll need to have a plan B, C, etc. since every other team (read: Yankees, et al...) will also be doing the full court press thing... Until we actually lose out on Correa though... I'm "Correa or Bust!" If/ when we lose out on Correa, I like Story/ Semien on shorter term contracts, or even hunting the Yanks highest level SS prospect (their #3 prospect, in AAA and had a nice year.. Oswald Peraza) if they are the ones who sign Correa. Those are my Plans B, C & D.

Plus Vrana might be back by then. I like a Raymond-Veleno-Vrana line better than with Suter.... and that might actually become our 2nd line, pushing Fabbri-Namest-Ryan down a notch...

I don't think the Red Wings are going to start Veleno and Raymond in the NHL. But I think they should from what I've seen. I don't think I will be that upset about it though, if that's how they play it... Give them all the ice time they can handle in Grand Rapids, all phases. Trade some veterans at the deadline for whatever we can get, and then bring them up for good afterwards. I think Veleno can Center the 2nd or 3rd line, and Raymond can Wing any of the top 3 lines. And I don't speak 3rd line out of low expectations... I think if these two were on the 3rd line with Suter just for example, the 3rd line becomes an extremely dangerous scoring line rivaling the 2nd line (with Fabbri, Ryan, Namestnikov... for example). Plus PP and PK time if they warrant that... Might be enough for their rookie year...

Micro the one thing I saw that went against what you're saying is that I read he actually has a curveball that is generating 51% swing and miss. So... is that just against lower levels but doesn't have enough spin to get the same results at higher minor league levels? Or is that an error in reporting (my apologies, I don't remember where I read that...)?

I personally think he'll come back as well... But I would just be uncomfortable with a multi-year deal at this point. Not certain if I'm thinking organizationally (thinking that way definitely says no to me) or if personally I'm in that "prove it to me" mode... probably a little bit of both...

If he signs the QO. Too late. If he doesn't, I would only be willing to do the 1-year in order to see how he comes back from TJ. Not interested in making a LT commitment when we have no idea on that. Sign him as a guess? As a... we "truly believe" in Verlander? I'm sorry, but no thanks. The only thing that makes sense to me is a 1-year recovery deal, for $20 Mill or less. At the end of 2022, after he's shown whether he's the Verlander of old (or at least the past 3 years, not including the TJ), or not, then I would reconsider making an investment in a LT contract with him. But not before then. But that's just me.

And then come back at the end of 2022, after he's proven he's 100% back from TJ, that he's worth that 3 year/ $90-100M contract.

'Tuzz looks rusty as heck out there... But the kids look great! Fast, all over the ice, controlling the puck, stealing the puck... they spent about 75% of the time in the 1st in the O-zone... very little time in Detroit's zone. Love that especially... Veleno and Raymond look like they need to stay in Detroit this year...

Lamar isn't bad. Not a bad QB to build around but I'm with those that think running QB's are going to get beat up faster and lose effectiveness faster. Not what I really want to build around... Comparisons to Deshaun Watson I like a whole lot more, if that's who Malik can compare to. Much bigger arm, much less running. Watson/ Rodgers/ Steve Walsh... prefer those types of running QB's as a personal preference...

I don't think Correa is interested in 5/125. He wants that 10/300 commitment.

I'd like to see Hess pitch better. Not certain what his upside is but... he was only ok this year. Big guy at 6' 6" but he walks too many. Wilmer looks like he could turn into something...

Coming back from TJ. QO. 39 years old next year. Wants a contract of some length. Avila/ Ilitch can beg to differ... but IMO out of our range. I'm not interested. Anyone else in here interested in JV based on the above components? We haven't even gotten to dollars yet.

Why not? The military mandates a plethora of vaccines. Multiple children's vaccines are mandated (measles, smallpox, polio, etc). At least when I grew up. I don't really know if I am absolutely for or against a vaccine mandate... I agree on your second point... I'm just playing devil's advocate here...
