  1. Power, but little ability to get to it, Echoes of Rey Rivera...
  2. FTFY. But yeah, particularly the past 8 years they've made a bonanza off of his rantings and ravings. But he was also normalized on The Apprentice. A complete and total abject failure touted on the show as an "amazing businessman". It was Howard Stern milking him before that. The New York tabloids and other rags in the 1980's before that.. A long, long, long history of media milking his obnoxious, grotesque drivel...
  3. I wanna see more of THIS Riley Greene...
  4. Yes. That's the concise version.
  5. Pitchers are jamming him inside from what I've seen... He either adapts... Or flops. Up to him.
  6. Worse. Shifting everything over to tariffs means jacking up tariffs, as stated above several times. Which means the rest of the world is going to do the same. They're not just going to rollover and say "oh. thank you very much Donald Trump. No worries". No... the response will be a worldwide tariff war. A major, serious one. Both imports AND exports will come to a screeching halt. Creating a worldwide Great Depression. Which brainless MF'ing JACKASS is spouting this utter idiocy? Oh, yeah, Donald Brainless MF'ing MORON Trump. A MORON for over 40+ years.
  7. I grew up in Michigan, left for the Army after HS, went to college after the Army in Boca Raton, FLA and lived 19 years in S Florida and 20 in New Jersey after that, as of this year... It amazes me that people look at me after talking to them for a few minutes (after just meeting them, no matter south FL or Jersey) and they say: "Oh, you're from Michigan, aren't you?" WTF? I have an accent?
  8. I would still rather have a pitcher with a 0.89 WHIP and K's 7.4 per 9 and walks 3 per 9, who keeps runners off the bases for the most part, rather than a pitcher with a 1.39 WHIP even if he K's 11 per 9 and walks only 3 per 9. WHIP works fine and dandy for me. It may even include nice groundball rates, avg. EV's, etc... But I find it to be a great one-stop shop number that tells me all I need to know. If a guy is consistently between 0.90 and 1.10 WHIP year after year, and another guy is consistently 1.28-1.48 WHIP every year, I choose the lower WHIP guy. I don't need to look at anything else. Simple. And an easy choice.
  9. Anyone with more than half a brain...
  10. He also plays 1B I believe. Options. Hinch and Harris love those flexible position options...
  11. I'll give another reason to kick upstairs to West Michigan Clark, Briceno & McGonigle: Nearly the entire week of games is postponed due to afternoon showers. How many Lakeland games get postponed due to weather? Especially around the summer "monsoon" months? I am... annoyed.
  12. Message to Hamas: GFY.
  13. Or kids for not growing up fast enough.
  14. ??? 2-3 years away? He was the starter in Grand Rapids this year, with a .913 save percentage that was better in the 2nd half than in the 1st half. No. Trade Husso (which would actually COST us so I don't see that realistically happening) and give the backup job to Cossa who can, if he plays as well in Detroit, take over the starting job from Lyon. And even if we don't trade Husso in the offseason, they can bring up Cossa more slowly, for games here and there (as Husso or Lyon get nicked up for a few games (which happens often, with Husso at least) or just to slowly beak him into the NHL...). Also, and this is a key point: The goaltending can get better if the defense gets better. And that means both forwards and defenseman. I would work on THIS first... which allows time for the team to bring up Cossa and see if he can cut it in the NHL and take over as a #1, and it also allows time to work Husso out of that contract. AFTER the defense improves (both forwards & defenseman)... THEN a better analysis of goalie needs can be determined. It's hard to see how good or bad our goalies are when we are playing too much subpar defense. So, IMO, defense first, and then goalie afterwards. Which might be Cossa. And if it isn't, THEN we look for a goalie upgrade. It MIGHT be possible that Cossa makes that... moot. So... we'll see. But again: defense first IMO, then goalie. That's just my 2 cents.
  15. QUOTE from SINWAR on Israel: "We have them right where we want them..." I wonder why he would say something like that? /s
  16. But Trump is WINNING THE POLLS!!!
  17. It's worse than ****ing scary.
  18. Here's a fuller story on this Gazan civilian-TERRORIST that held 3 hostages in his home: https://www.yahoo.com/news/father-israeli-hostage-almog-jan-115624189.html Al Jazeera journalist hid Israeli hostages for Hamas Melanie Swan Sun, June 9, 2024
  19. That's not going to sink into their cement heads. But I don't see how he can get any more truthful. He doesn't give a rat's ass about them. He does care about getting that tax package passed (already done) that lines his pockets and all the other 1%'ers with gold. If he has to jack up middle class taxes in order to pay for all his deficit spending (I know pandemic... but ALSO $1 trillion annually from those tax cuts so he can line his pockets)... he will. If he has to **** all over Social Security & Medicare in order to keep his pockets lined with those tax cuts... he will. He's a criminal. A con-artist. A house of cards. And he knows it. He wants the Presidency specifically to avoid prison. He doesn't want to President. He wants to save his ass. "You grotesque ****ing brainless MAGATS... please save my ass." After that... He can **** everybody out of their civil liberties, freedoms, pack ALL the courts and governmental agencies with boot-licking political hack sycophants, and complete the destruction of the United States and its Rule of Law and its Constitutional government and voting. No more voting. Just a simple fascist dictatorship. "I don't give a **** about you." "I just want all the money and to not go to prison while I rape this country some more." "Thank you very much for voting for me, you imbeciles."
  20. This looks promising ( I guess I should add in Lee too...): Player April OPS May OPS June (SSS) Campos .662 OPS .942 OPS 1.086 OPS Dingler .725 OPS .980 OPS 1.189 OPS Jung .828 OPS .878 OPS 1.171 OPS HY Lee .719 OPS .833 OPS 1.333 OPS These guys also look good overall... but still working out some kinks: Player April OPS May OPS June (SSS) Clark .722 OPS .780 OPS .680 OPS Gold .922 OPS .800 OPS .547 OPS McGonigle 1.127 OPS .902 OPS .782 OPS Meadows .443 (Det) .924 OPS .814 OPS
  21. Exports of refined oil products will sky rocket... And will also change from gasoline-dominant to lubricant and other miscellaneous oil-derivative products So... I'm not certain how much risk/ exposure there actually is in this area... but I think it's a little bit less than 100%.
  22. That is not correct. My standards are not too low. This is the correct way to put it: My standards are "all-encompassing." I love the Miggy Cabreras and JV's and Scherzer's and Skubal's and (hopefully) Riley Greene's as much as the next guy. But I also know that there is no one that can construct an ENTIRE TEAM consisting of all-stars from top to bottom. That's just not realistic. So I embrace the top-level players and hope Harris can construct a team with enough of them to make us a real contender. But I ALSO embrace the bottom 10-15 players on a roster because if they are total crap then a top heavy team won't survive the entire season, won't survive injuries, and has a serious chance of not making the playoffs... because... baseball. So yes... I embrace the 4th OF'ers and the "glue guys" and the middle relievers and others that ALSO are a required part of any real, serious, contender. Why is this such a problem for everyone? Vierling is not the problem. Baez is. Tork is. Etc. So my standards are perfectly fine. I recognize what Vierling, Malloy, Lee and Canha are. And their limitations. Or their correct spot on any contending team. Unless you're telling me that Clark and McGonigle are garbage prospects and therefore my standards are too low...?
  23. Let me restate one thing... where I'm talking about "useful hitters": Harris has to identify the superstars for the next Tigers playoff team. Whether that's Greene, Clark, Jobe, Skubal... whomever. I don't think a team has a real chance if they are entirely built of platoon players. So yes... some amazing pitchers and hitters. But also, the entire team won't consist of amazing pitchers and hitters, from top to bottom because... well, that's just a little bit hard to do. So, outside of whatever stars we can add to this team... Harris will ALSO need to be able to find all the: "Useful hitters" and "useful pitchers" that flesh out a complete team. They are needed. I don't get the badmouthing of Vierling because he's a 4th OF'er. That is still needed on a playoff contending team. So why say anything about Vierling... except that he's a useful player/ useful bat. He's not the problem. He's doing his job and he's doing a fine job. It's the OTHER problems on this team, the "weak links", that need to be rectified. IMO.
