  1. Wouldn't he be a perfect fit if we have Vierling? And Jung could take over 2B in 2026... I consider Torres to be a one-off just for 2025... unless he...
  2. I don't think it will happen right away... maybe trade deadline if he isn't doing much and Harris and Hinch don't believe in him... He still is the RH'd power guy that they need. But he has to show it, not dog it. I don't see what's wrong with making a Tork for Brett Baty - Nolan McLean package... if Tork flops here.
  3. Baez has played: 1B, 2B, SS, 3B, LF, RF in MLB... Not limited. It's Ibanez that is most superfluous and he doesn't have money invested in him as does Baez. Bench is Dingler, Baez, McKinstry, and one of Perez, Malloy, or Tork... depending on ST... IMHO.
  4. This is a reclamation project trade so I don't key on the lefty-righty situation as much... That being said... If the trade were to go down... then: 2025 Lefty-Righty Catcher: Rogers (R) - Dingler (R) 1B - Keith (L) - Malloy (R) - Ibanez (R) 2B - Jung (L) - not out of ST, but by June-ish? - Torres (R) SS - Sweeney (L) - Baez (R) 3B - Baty (L) - Vierling (R) LF - Perez (S) - Carpenter (L) - Malloy (R) CF - Meadows (L) - Perez (S) RF - Greene (L) - Vierling (R) DH - Carpenter (L) - Malloy (R) Two things: I think the Tigers and Hinch can figure out any lefty-righty switches they need in 2025. And also, there will be additional kids in AAA and in AA (Rainer-McGonigle) that will be ready and waiting to break into MLB... even if starting as a bench player, in 2025 and 2026 (IMO): 2026 Lefty-Righty Catcher: Liranzo (S) - Dingler (R) 1B - Keith (L) - Liranzo (S) - Malloy (R) 2B - Jung (L) - Hao-Yu-Lee (R) SS - Sweeney (L) - Baez (R) 3B - Baty (L) - Vierling (R) LF - Clark (L) - Perez (S) CF - Meadows (L) - Campos (R) RF - Greene (L) - Vierling (R) DH - Carpenter (L) - Malloy (R) McGonigle & Rainer will be at AAA unless...
  5. Mets rumors are floating 3B Brett Baty for Torkelson trade... they can move some guys around and cover 3B they think better than Baty... Baty's also a former 1st rounder with good power, decent defense but low BA... showed better numbers in AAA (both power and BA) but hasn't "found it" yet in MLB... Tork for Baty? Yes? No?
  6. Would anyone trade a Tork+ package for Bo Bichette? (Plus being I'm not certain what else it would take) OR: Alternatively... if anyone has an interest in Bo Bichette... what would you trade to land him...?
  7. It's getting REALLY close...
  8. Maybe Torres in 2025 turns into Jung & Hao-Yu Lee in 2026...?
  9. Especially for what he is asking for. I approve Torres at 1/$15MM over Bregman at his current ask. I also think the Org internally knows how Keith's shoulder is doing currently and is comfortable moving him to 3B, with Vierling getting some time there. Lefty-Righty as need. And that moves Jung back to 2B, where he was a better player. So Torres is a stopgap until Jung is ready... and tehy may both be on the team at some point which is, again... Righty-Lefty, as needed. Still need some longer-term balance on the Right side. Which brings us to... Tork will have to prove he can be better than he's shown. At the plate and in the field. Or he will be broomed out... I would say he needs to prove to the team he has some staying power in Detroit by the trade deadline. Or else...
  10. Reliever who K's guys (instead of what we've got): Jace Jung and Max Anderson (and maybe another lower prospect) for: Mariners - Andres Munoz OR A's - Mason Miller Is there a "yes" in there somewhere...?
  11. It's Javier Baez until the Org decides to pull that plug... It makes sense to hold onto him in 2025 until Sweeney proves himself over a season and they can figure out what to do with Baez later on... They don't need to, and they won't make that decision, until mid-season at the earliest... IMO.
  12. You guys are going to love me for this... Because I want to go back to the early 80's Tigers again. This is correct. And the reason I have to go back to the early 80's is... Crapload of young kids. Different names... obviously. So who knows what this version will turn into...? But... The focus right now is to help these kids get better and playoff worthy. So Lee is correct: Post-season in mind. Veteran leadership, but get to the Playoffs. And since we weren't a free agent signing team in the early 80's; I am going to look at a couple of trades. Like the December 9th, 1981 trade for Larry Herndon. Young veteran Righty bat, on a lefty heavy team. Bregman could be our Larry Herndon. (Better and a bit older... but same idea). But I think he's even better than that. I think Bregman is our Chet Lemon. Steve Kemp for Chet Lemon on November 17th, 1981. Same idea as Herndon. Veteran, righty, great defense. Even though he was traded for not a FA) and only 27... I think Bregman would be our Chet Lemon. Just my 2 cents...
  13. Isn't that 2024 International? After Jan 15th, it's 2025 International so new year, new money can be offered to Sasaki... I think that's correct...?
  14. That was my first thought on signing Cobb: Maeda replacement or Maeda 2.0. But we need better please Harris.
  15. Correct. He has to be sold on the pitching development team, which is supposedly high on his list... and I'm not certain what else. But sunshine, his idol and mentor Yu Darvish, and other factors are not on our side.
  16. Alternative history movie. But I love the plot.
  17. Go BIG...!!! Or Go HOME...!!! Sign Sasaki. Sign Bregman. Trade for Vlad Guerrero Jr. Sign Buehler.
  18. And Fox... Amongst many other of their own echo chambers...
  19. Also... I mentioned Sasaki as my #1 pitching addition target. I would love to get him. But if the Dodgers sign him... that would free up one of Flaherty or Buehler to sign...? I would be fine with grabbing one of those guys too...
  20. Agree with this. The team is not going to spend on a 1st Baseman. Not this year anyways. Tork will get more chances... until he runs out of them, IMO. The RH'ed bat to add is in the rest of the IF. Not 1B, not the OF. That means Bregman, Torres, or Adames (let me add Kim into this because... yes), IMO. 3B and SS are easy places for a RH'ed bat (especially if they jettison Baez); and I believe Adames can also play 3B and 2B, as can Kim. Even Torres could work if they find out Keith can go back to 3B (all depends on his shoulder...); but as a secondary question, can Gleyber also play 3B? There are variances in ability from the right side... but balance might be more important than lethality from the right side for this signing. But a plus RH'ed bat nonetheless. I would have no problem with adding any of these guys, and I'll leave the dirty work and analysis up to Harris and his team to decide which one (certainly dependent on mutual interest...).
  21. In the process of retirement and searching for my soulmate to travel the world with me. Looking at buying two houses, one in (or near) Lakeland and one between Saint Clair Shores and Harrison Township... On the lake or lake access... But it's a process... My 84Echoes!!! Prescription for the Tigers 2024 offseason: Sign Posted Japanese RH'ed pitcher Roki Sasaki Sign one of (Harris, you decide): Gleyber Torres, Willy Adames, Alex Bregman. Trade for Mason Miller, closer. PS: Beat the Indians out for the Division. Win the ****ing World Series. How's that for '84...?
  22. And (how Israel views this) rightfully so.
  23. 2025 MLB Lottery = MOOT POINT!!!
