  1. 1) Soybean farmers adapt. Trump bailed them out (sort of... he ****ed that up too) in years 1 nd 2. By Year 3 they are no longer planting soybeans, but corn or some other crop... 2) If we're talking effectiveness; Biden has ACTUALLY implemented policies that are GROWING our manufacturing base again. Why? Because he knows what he's doing. And Tariffs are a MINOR part of that. 3) And what does MAGA see? They're too hung up on "tariffs" or, especially "TRUMP, I LOVE YOU!!!!!" to actually notice anything else. Even if it is easily explained to them. They just don't CARE. They're entrapped inside a cult and they DO NOT CARE. That's called myopia. That's called dysfunctional. That's called abject stupidity, BY CHOICE. They've CHOSEN to close their eyes to anything and everything. "God" (I'm an atheist) help us all.
  2. If he does this he's in the running for a top-10-ish/ 15-ish selection.
  3. And one with such... "loose morals".
  4. Well, since we're ALL Motown Morons... We're all in the same boat anyways... Hopefully it doesn't sink... 😉
  5. I just did that in 3 sentences. I mean, I agree with you... most regular Joe's aren't going to get into these weeds. But it isn't really that difficult to grasp the basic outlines of making smart moves instead of dumb moves. I should know... most of my family is MAGA. I've had these arguments... a LOT. But here's the real reason they can be such idiots: I explain. They get it. They understand. And then they respond with: "I don't care. I just want Trump to break everything". Myopic. Shortsightedness in its worst form. They want Mexican rapists kicked out of the country. And nothing else matters. I have a bone to pick with that attitude.
  6. I believe Glenn is being lauded mostly as a "leader of men", "future head coach", "coaches the guys up brilliantly", and not so much as an X's and O's genius. But still... I am seeing him adapt to the Lions defense's weaknesses, in my opinion, quite brilliantly.
  7. This. I will give Trump for changing direction on China. But Trump, and MAGA... want to go into the China shop and instead of demanding a refund for defective (policies), decide that sending Trump the Bullheaded Jackass into the China shop to smash everything because... they think it's funny? Effective? This is the solution of simple-minded MORONS. Smash everything. He gets no credit for method. For actually having a workable plan. For actually knowing what the hell he is doing. Zero credit for thinking that smashing everything is the solution. IDIOTS. G2 here is pointing out putting together Policy/ Actions/ Tariffs/ and Methods... that actually do something. I do give Trump credit for changing direction. But for nothing else. And... Everyone KNEW that the direction needed to be changed, starting with Obama, who started the pivot away from the Middle East and towards China as the real problem. Trump just took a sledge hammer to the China shop and thought that would be the way to deal with them. Turump = MORON = MAGA.
  8. I answered that just above...
  9. As G2 pointed out... The stupidity of Trump's tariff's is that they were unreliable. He changed them on a whim. If there is no method, there is no reliability. The tariffs themselves may or may not make sense. But to throw them up capriciously, as Trump did, inspires ZERO confidence, as G2 pointed out, for a business to make business decisions based on... capriciousness? The immediate after-effect of Trump's tariffs on China, as an example, did NOT "bring back American manufacturing jobs". In fact, the IMMEDIATE after-effect of Trump's China tariffs was that China shut the door on American soybeans and other products. American, midwestern, farmers were CRUSHED by the blowback to Trump's China tariffs. Do you remember this? It gets more complicated than that. China was losing manufacturing jobs PRIOR to Trump's tariffs. They were losing those jobs because Chinese wages had finally come up enough that they were no longer the most competitive (read: lowest wages) manufacturer in the world. They were losing these manufacturing jobs to Southeast Asia. Vietnam, Thailand, etc... If Trump wasn't such a ****ing MORON, he would have passed TPP instead of killing it. Which would have lowered American tariffs for these southeastern countries, enforced American intellectual property rights (Chinese knockoffs would be forced out of these countries, increasing American goods sold), enforced American environmental and labor standards (not exactly, more like "minimums", but still...), and SPED UP the flight of cheap manufacturing jobs out of China. A year later, Trump BEGGED to get back into TPP and was told "no dice". He ****ed that up, bigly. Why is Biden now NOT eliminating all of Trump's tariff's? Because now that they are in place, you don't remove them CAPRICIOUSLY, as Trump did throwing them up. You NEGOTIATE to get them back down. As any NORMAL politician would. And if China is not changing its predatory practices... then there's no reason to just give them back up. I have no problem with Biden NEGOTIATING with China to bring those tariff's back down, and if China refuses to change practices, then refuse to change tariff's. It's not that difficult to understand.
  10. I said in 1984, once I actually heard him speak (he was never shy about opening his mouth and speaking, quite loudly): "Once a MORON, ALWAYS a MORON." That's proven 100% true. And now he has 30% of America following him like sheep. It says everything about that 30% (MAGA) to me. MORONS. Incapable of distinguishing between right and wrong, smart and stupid, reasonable democracy versus violent fascism. I repudiate them all.
  11. That states not only how utterly stupid Trump is... But (I am also including an article below that shows)... How utterly ****ing STUPID MAGA is: https://www.yahoo.com/news/trump-tariffs-hurt-u-jobs-123936378.html Trump’s Tariffs Hurt U.S. Jobs but Swayed American Voters, Study Says Ana Swanson Fri, February 2, 2024 at 7:39 AM EST
  12. It's not just the straightline speed, it's the ability to "flip hips" or handle receivers' double-moves so to speak. If Holmes drafts him and declares him our "presumed #1 CB" I'm on board. The only thing I've got to go on is draft rags anyways so... I trust Holmes & DC to make the right decisions on guys as they've already shown time & again...
  13. Smart move. I think the U.S. SHOULD unilaterally recognize a Palestinian State. There would be more positives in there than anyone could conceive...
  14. "DARK BRANDON, UNLEASHED!!!" Coming soon, to an election near you...
  15. Couple rags I was reading stated DeJean would "probably shift to Safety in the NFL"... I don't know how accurate that is... But it probably wouldn't help our CB deficiency if that were to become abundantly clear/ true. I'd be fine with Quin Mitchell. And there does seem to be some depth at CB this year. May even be able to find another starter in the 3rd (eventually) round. I'll trust Holmes to find 1 or 2 of these guys.
  16. Hamas has already radicalized the entirety of Gaza to murder Israelis. Even the UN agency was infiltrated, and PARTICIPATED, in the kidnapping of Israeli's. The easy answer to stopping ALL of this is the same as it was two months ago: The Unconditional Surrender of Hamas.
  17. ORANGE Jesus!!! Make certain you get that right... Although, maybe soon it could be Orange Jesus in an Orange Jumpsuit.
  18. Trump has no ****ing clue. As an Independent, if that matters... I have always been against tariffs. Not $0... I understand the reasoning behind the past 50 years of tariffs philosophy (trying to create a level playing field, reduce when coming into agreement with another country (ies), use them punitively/ judiciously when certain punishments are warranted.) For example, I understand and agree when punitive tariffs are used against China: WHEN they are "dumping" product into the US.
  19. Minimum wage would make the most sense to attach to a COLA index. But instead, let's sit on it for 20-30 years... makes business happy; but the living wage becomes unlivable pretty quickly. And then it's political fights to try to rectify/ or postpone the problem (depending on party) for more years and years. And it's all political grandstanding for exactly what you've mentioned. Taking credit for ****ing up the system. Errr, fixing the ****ed up system... errr... so confusing.
  20. You're doing the same thing when you said I was willing to offer NOTHING in a trade. You're exaggerating. It's annoying at best... And it gets to my point that it appears you're just jerking me around.
  21. Great, replace Kuzmenko with Fabbri. But you included BOTH Veleno and Fabbri. You seem to be avoiding my question: why did you include BOTH? If Fabbri replaces Kuzmenko, who does Veleno replace... the low-level prospect?
  22. Fine: The Canucks gain this trade because they'll include Brzustewicz and Yzerman will NOT trade Pellikka... and they had Kuzmenko and we can only counter with Fabbri or Berggren (I don't think he lets go of Veleno just yet...). My point remains the same: If we trade for a Lindholm (and MUST get him with an agreed-upon extension) then it makes other guys expendable. Same with Hanifan. IE: Who would I love to MOST pair up with Seider? It's not Chiarot, or Walman, or Ghost, or Maatta, or Edvinsson, or Wallinder, or Albert Johansson. It's Hanifan. IMO: (A) That creates the strongest playoff-quality top pairing for this year and at least the next (6 or 7?) (B) Who do I want as my 3 LH'ed D-men (and I'll add a 4th for depth)? Hanifan, Edvinsson, Walman, and 1 of Maatta or Johansson. That makes everyone else expendable, in my mind. It's why I'm willing to trade players/ prospects. I'm looking for the strongest team long-term, not just this year.
  23. But you included BOTH Veleno & Fabbri, replacing a low-level prospect with one of them...
  24. That's what I'm hoping as well. But again... what if he DOES make the decision to retire? We're already losing Jonah Jackson. And IMO, our O-Line is the engine that drives the offense. Glasgow is also unsigned... although I think he resigns with the Lions on a 2-3 year deal. He could take over at Center if need be (he did this year when Ragnow was out for that game or two...); but then we need two guards (if Ragnow were indeed, to retire). Even if he doesn't retire... I guess the bottom line to me is that the team needs to make serious moves not only in having a starter at each of the 3 IOL positions... but also needs to have serious backup plans as well.
