  1. Helsinki all over again. Only this time I wasn't laying on a hotel bed in Austria on vacation.
  2. spent a few cycles listening to that medley off the album yesterday.
  3. Aye, the Metallica boys are tight with their IP famously.
  4. Not sensing that Alex Bregman will be a place where Scott Harris wants to spend time. But, you never know.
  5. What would Tork think of all this talk about data?
  6. Insider information...some people claim that's irrefutable.
  7. was just reading something on the freep about Ford pushing F-150 upgrades to 2028. Now, I just skimmed the headline. I wonder at what point do the companies who have worked their asses off to sustain their place in the marketplace in the face of well, all the reasons both internal and external, just throw their hands up in the air in the face of Elon Musk deciding winners and losers without having divested himself of his deep financial interests.
  8. Edit: I was going to change that back to "from Elon, from Russia" but I like it better with the glitch.
  9. I spent more than my fair share of time in the 90s in college defending the Military's policy pre-Don't Ask, Don't Tell. I think its weird how I no longer give a crap about any of this except in the reasonable accommodation aspect. Reasonable has a different meaning in a war zone. However, war zone has a different meaning in the modern World too. We are in a war zone in our homes because there is a threat to the country burrowing into our data systems from China, from Elon for Russia. Its not all the volcanic ash of Iwo Jima or the jungles of Vietnam or Burma anymore.
  10. That's an amazing exchange.
  11. Meanwhile there is a reporter for the Nantucket High School Beacon who has been hiding in the dry wall in the locker room at the Red Sox facility with a breathing tube and 5 days of food and water waiting to reveal a locker room incident involving the toothpaste caps of two assistant coaches being put on the wrong tubes of toothpaste. "You MUTHAF&*Ker! I told you Gleem and Arm and Hammer are TWO DIFFERENT COLORS!"
  12. OMG that's terrible!
  13. The cowards in sports journalism need to move along to the microblogging app that won't steal your democracy.
  14. I hope the White Sox finish with a better record but you know it won't happen.
  15. That and they have more sports journalists than non-journalists in the North East.
  16. [David Attenborough voice over] "behold the prickleys in their purest form"
  17. featured in the Edger Wright movie: "The Worlds End"
  18. Find out much later that Larish had people watching your house, monitoring your mail. He had it in for you Chas!
  19. I would never use that law firm.
  20. This is gonna be interesting. If she's going to do this precedent shattering thing to defy a precedent shattering quid-pro-quo with Adams then we are stepping further into Constitutional Crisis Land. But on the other hand, we are supposed to be the home of the brave and the land of the free. Does Trump have FBI trump up some charges on Hochul? Is she going to be arrested for prostitution the next time she's in a red state by the local police? edit: reminds me of the jokes Hunter S. Thompson had about Bill Clinton's childhood nemesis Tommy Stuka who was "killed while trying to break into the Arkansas State Police Barracks."
  21. Absolutely. There were some things in that sketch i couldn't make out. I think the vague allusions to all the movies each of those guys had done (except for Harry Potter) were difficult to pick out until you realized that is what they were referencing. Still...when Eddie Murphy says "GENOCIDE!" I spent the next few minutes seeing stars because I damn near blacked out.
  22. Holy crap...it says Metallica was the musical host for that episode.
  23. thinking on this... John Mulahny's ode to his previous NY iconic thing/musical theater sketches are excellent (Lobster Diner) to really good (Bodega Cat) to ok (everything after). John must have been needing to pad out the Broadway talent to bring in Nathan Lane who I don't think had any previous appearances on SNL...but then google voila...yeah he hosted in 1997.
