There are a couple things that are no longer on order in warfare (at least for now) based on the first week of the 2022 Ukraine invasion by Russia. Nobody wants to attempt tactical airlift or air assaults under fire. But, you will hear quickly from that airborne community that while they think they should be able to jump out of airplanes in certain circumstances when stealth conditions are available or in order to train in toughness and attention to detail, there is little value in having entire fleets of airlift aircraft with hundreds/thousands of troops crash into the ground while crossing the forward line of own troops.
