No, I still think they have work to do. But if they play their way down to, say, a #12 pick instead of a #4 overall pick, I think a nice signing will make up for that. I'm not worried about their 2nd round pick being #45 instead of #35.

That can be bridged by one star free agent signing this offseason, IMO. You can’t build a team through free agency alone, but once you have enough of a young base you can top it up with a select high-profile signing.

Under that (unlikely) scenario, Michigan would be no worse than #3 in the committee rankings and absolutely worthy. Home win over Ohio St, road wins over Wisconsin and Penn St, only loss being by 4 points on road to top 10 MSU. That resume can’t be beat by Big 12, by Oregon, by Cincy, by Notre Dame. -
A lot of déjà vu with the MSU game. QB fumble turned into a FG, Michigan trails 17-14 with just under 6 minutes to go.
